August 23, 2025Aug 23 comment_225942 I think Caleb and the offense are going to be all right. I dont know how many weeks that is going to take. It might be a bit though. I do worry about the LT and the Pass Rush a lot though. I hope they come through. Report

Regardless of starters/backups the organization and execution there is a good sign that things are going to be different. Thayer was talking about that last week, saying that some young QBs thrive in that scenario due having less time to think. Report

I watched this video and with his all-22 shots it makes me feel much more confident in our team. This is a kind of a long review with him mostly talking but I link my sources. He doesn't review a lot of plays per se but there are many clips where you can see the coverage was pretty good. We don't see a lot of blown assignments. The pass rush was bad as we know. Offense the Oline looked good. It was Caleb with some poor decisions which is what many here thought. Caleb can grow out of that with more experience with the scheme and more of Ben Johnson in his ear. We have 2 weeks to prepare for Minn and I'm feeling better about that game. Report

That blows up the defensive play and removes a sack and gives the qb a free ride. Report

August 24, 2025Aug 24 comment_225969 Here's another one I was watching because I was bored and my feed dropped at the end of the game. Instead of watching Bagent I focused on backup Oline players. To me Amegadjie looks to have poor hand placement then has to rely on leaning on defenders. Trapilo need some refinement but I could see a future for him as our starting RT. He included two views of each play. Report

August 25, 2025Aug 25 Author comment_226016 The biggest concern with Caleb was holding onto the ball too long, as that led to too many sacks. If nothing else changed, and he got the ball out quicker, cut down on sacks, then the results will come. Here is Caleb's TTT compared to other QBs: In the KC game: • Patrick Mahomes 3.69 TTT • Tyson Bagent 3.08 TTT • Caleb Williams 3.06 TTT Caleb Williams on 25 pass attempts in the preseason this year: 68% completion 8.8 Y/A 122.1 passer rating 71.3 PFF passing grade 2.89 TTT Drake Maye, another second year QB in a new system (12 att): 58% completion 4.8 Y/A 70.8 passer rating 36.9 PFF grade 3.30 TTT So I would say he is passing the test so far, no delay of game penalties, no wasted time outs, no INTs, and only 1 sack. August 28, 2025Aug 28 comment_226111 I watched this game breakdown by Chase Daniels. First, apologies to Luke Newman who I said missed a block that caused an early pressure in the redzone. In fact it was a slide right protection call and our buddy Braxton slid left. How do you know Braxton messed up? Because his eyes and looking right the whole time and he's the one chasing his missed block. There are a few other misses, some on Caleb especially early. My main takeaway is that on every pass play Caleb had an answer, even the blown block above was a likely TD play if given 1 more second. After watching this I feel like Ben is setting us up for success and this offense is much closer to the promised land than I thought. There are still a lot of details to get ironed out and we're not consistent enough to recover from shooting ourselves in the foot. I can see something good headed our way later this season. Report

You are so right, the scheme and OL personal is good enough to make Caleb successful. I think Chase and Tim Jenkins do good jobs at breaking down the QB play. I think Caleb just needs to make decisions a little quicker because the plays are there. Old habits are hard to break. Last year it was hard to find WRs that were actually open, this year he has several options on each play. In these plays, I notice Kmet open a lot. Report
August 28, 2025Aug 28 comment_226116 Braxton definitely missed that block. It's always inside out unless called otherwise. Can't have that. Report

You probably know this, when Caleb calls a play, does he have to reference a line call as he see how the defense is set? If in a noisy environment could Jones miss some line calls? Everything seems fixable . Report
August 28, 2025Aug 28 comment_226131 Not sure. I know if it's noisy, he usually turns his head to hear the QB and should've seen the back was not there. Then, he should've noticed a man was over the guard and the other guy was uncovered. Inside out theory. Bonehead play. Report
