My hope is this is the signature gritty win they were looking for, battling for 60 minutes to scrap out a last second win.

Johnson needs to improve his play calling; felt like he was forcing the runs that were turning into instant lost yards. Then, with first and goal at the 2, you score on first down when you could have burned the clock all the way down and forced them to use their timeouts.

A lot of learning points while getting a win going into the bye. They really need Edwards, Jarrett, Gordon, and Wright back.

I understand your point.

However, if they burned the clock and something happened, and we failed to score, we'd be 1-3 going into the bye.

The way things were going, I could see us trying to score with 5 seconds left, Caleb gets sacked, or a WR drops another pass, and we lose the game.

I’m with you here.  This was not the game to burn clock expecting mistake free football on the last drive.  

Can't count on a blocked FG to win, glad that happened, but could've avoided that situation with better clock management. 

I understand the theory of just scoring, but teams sometimes allow teams to score to get the ball back with more time. With how the defense was playing in the 2nd half, you can't give the other team that much time and allow that big of a return.

It would have been impossible to burn the clock out. You got to score. I’m actually think it worked out well as bears still would have had 38 seconds and 2 timeouts had the kick gone in - which to me would have been a much better place to be in then if the Bears gave the raiders 1 minute to go and no timeouts.

Don’t agree on this one. You don’t dick around when you can score a TD, because TDs aren’t guaranteed.

This - just think about first half where they twice had like 4th and 25 from like the 35. They had failed inside red zone a few times today with all the mistakes and or drops. Get the points and go from there! 

Also - 2nd straight week where Stevenson played great. Huge! 
 

Trapillo seemed to stabilize the offense when he came in. Really wonder if we see them try Wright on the left side at this point.

Ben Johnson seems to be very high on Darnell Wright.  With Ozzy looking decent I could definitely see them ramping up LT reps for Theo.

Yeah - the clearly like Wright a lot - can also see they were pushing/coaching him hard to elevate his consistency cause his best reps are elite. Wright is pretty athletic - trapillo looks like a potential good RT prospect. I really think Wright is their best LT - albeit having Theo come out and be a stud would be pretty awesome. 
 

I thought Theo got torched by Crosby in 1st half.

Theo definitely struggled.  He seemed to be more comfortable when he moved to LT.   Maybe with all the questions around Braxton that’s where he’s been practicing for the last 6 weeks?   

They were purposely chewing the clock down the entire last drive, every play took 40 seconds off the clock. Then they get 1st and goal at the 2 and use one play. LVR used a timeout there before the TD.

If you think they should not have tried to burn some clock with 4 plays to score, then there is no way going for a 4th Down with more than a yard would ever make sense. The probability of scoring a TD with 2 yards to go with multiple plays is magnitudes higher than going for it on 4th Down with more than a yard to go when you only have one play. 

I know the Bears are not there yet, but in general, I think you need to burn the clock and force LVR to use another TO on at least one play after that first down. I get it that if you don't score you lose, but the exact thing played out on why you need to burn more clock/timeouts as they need a blocked FG to negate it.

The Commanders game is an important one, because a win gives the team some legitimacy as a playoff threat.

It's good that they beat the Raiders, but the Raiders stink. They should beat bad teams, even on the road. I want to see them finally beat a quality opponent in a game that matters for both teams, otherwise the idea of a culture shift rings pretty hollow for me.

They won another 25-24 barn burner, and in a way, the WAS game was more on the officials than anything else. Just crazy how many bad calls or missed calls have went against the Bears this season.

After the third bad call against the defense, we had a later defensive stop and I asked my wife where the flag was, then they threw it.  It seemed so scripted.  Aikman was biting his tongue...

It really did feel that way. They were waiting until after the outcome of the play to determine whether to throw the flag or not. It was so obvious.
