Unless we are planning on paying him a big contract, then he walks next year for nothing. it might be nice to get something for him. The something I might get out of keeping him is a much better Dline rotation that is good enough to get us into the Super Bowl.

I don't understand the concept of getting rid of everyone when we are trying to get to a SB when there is no one on the team to replace that player. In the case of trading DJ, we at least have Walker and resign Zacchus to fill that spot. I think DJ staying gets us closer to that goal but if we can get value in a trade, I would understand. In the case of Edmunds, we could save the money and replace him with a less expensive player. (Demarco Jackson) Or if they find another cheaper option. Poles talked about this off-season that they wouldn't be making a big splash and I believe that because we just don't have the money. A few players back, a couple of cheaper free agents and the draft.
Mongo3451
I don't think Dexter fits what we need him to do. He's young and cheap, so let's see what he can do as a 1 tech. I'm not sure trading him is beneficial, unless an idiot gives us a day two pick. At this point, he's inexpensive depth with upside.
ASHKUM BEAR
The FA class at DT and other positions is bare. There will be many more trades the offseason compared to others. A great GM would listen to all offers and be making calls himself. At 3T, we are stuck with Grady Jarrett. We drafted Sherman Turner last year who can play there. At pick 25 there are a few 3T and 1T we could take. So if they get the right value, why not? Dexter hasn't become a blue chip yet, maybe he does and maybe not. That's the way to do it. I'm just saying, there is a decision to be made, on one side is whatever Dexter adds to the rotation, and on the other side is whatever draft value you can get from him in his last year. And can that draft capital help procure a better replacement. If Dexter was better, it'd be a no brainer to keep him, and if he was worse, it'd be a no brainer to trade him. So i think both are viable options right now, so that's all Im saying, is there are two sides to the coin. Im not passionate about either one. Stinger had asked about why anyone would want to trade him, so i was just giving that side of the argument, but like I said, I can see it either way, personally. Same, I never said we need to trade him either. I noted that he is being asked about, which means teams have interest. He has value here and for the right price he could be traded. Seeing teams trade player for player recently, maybe the Bears find a LT, S, LB, or another DL that they like knowing they can draft a DT to replace him.
