As much as I would love and wanted to have Max Crosby, I feel the Bears would be better and smarter to keep their 2 firsts and a player.  Rumor is a team or two has called with that offer today and Dallas has shifted its attention to Hendrickson. Too rich for Jerry.

It is possible the Bears are one of those teams that made the call but why pass on cheap 4 yr production at another key position that is in need now and more so in 2027 :

DT Peter Woods (3T)

DT Kayden McDonald (1T)

               or

LT -Kadeyn Proctor/Monroe Feeling

LT has to be the top target. Roushar can work magic, so maybe there is a lower tiered prospect he sees but if one of these two are there it has to be priority imo. Trapilo may recover and return to form for 2027, but you cannot risk that with Caleb.

Peter Woods name has occasionally dropped in mocks, like his 2025 stats. Let him learn the ropes under Jarrett and we have a long term 3T answer.

Kayden McDonald - his stout presence would be a multiplier for the rest of the run D while also giving a plus push in pass D. 

Then 2027, the draft is much stronger and deeper at Edge.  Dayo can come off the books for 15mil savings, and we will know what Booker will be stud/rotation.  Rumor mentioned this morning on 670 was Tremaine Edmunds to Giants for Kayvon Thibodeux who has 1 yr left.

Trapilo was just starting to, but he is not quite a for sure LT answer.  I don't see Braxton back and Theo is not long enough.  They have to be eyeing LT especially after losing Dalman.

I'm only going by what he said. He also stated the answer will likely be on the team. Doubt he meant moving Wright.

I was  also the one suggested we draft one high before I heard him speak. 

Theo could get better? , Kiran finally produces?

We will find out in a few days what they are planning. Ozzy may not play this year but I still think they think he is their future LT.

I think when the owner had a meeting with the brass at the NFL to present the nature of hiring minorities, he has a great case to argue with. Clearly a GM job is an upgrade over the assistant GM job. 

I am very hopeful that meeting paid off. 

Courtney Cronin reported that she expects the Bears will receive the comp picks.  We'll find out later on today I think - but I'll take that at least as a positive sign...hoping that means she had heard from someone at Halas Hall who maybe had gotten some initial intelligence from the league.

She is just a reporter and I'm never heard he sight inside information before, so I suspect it's from rumors.

 

Im not a huge Courtney Cronin fan, but she absolutely has shared inside info before. I recall you didnt believe it and you said she didnt have contacts then too, but it becomes circular logic if all her inside info is determined to be not real, then obviously it isnt evidence that she has inside info, but she does sometimes.

I have never heard her sight a source so I assume her take are by pundits she trusts. She works for ESPN so I think her information comes from there.

The Bears are pretty tight lipped, so you only see guesses or sometimes leaks from agents trying to make sparks. As for the comp picks, I dont think that would be a guess.  She had to hear something to put that out there. I havent looked into this report if it was written or on video.

She is the number one source for Bears news.  ESPN 1000 is the Bears official station and she is the official reporter.  If anyone is going to get anything leaked to them, it's her.  I love her work.  She is only second to Stacy Dales...

I don't disagree but I don't think she has any sources in the bears organization. Poles runs a tight ship but it is possible some agents could leak information. Rapoport seems to have NFL sources so she could get info that way. 

If anyone had inside sources we would have heard about this center trade before two hours ago. Who we targeted in the draft last year.  She was very adamant about us trading up for Jeanty and it didn't happen.

I'm not badmouthing her, I love her, my favorite woman reporter but she doesn't have sources in the bears organization.

No, the best pay for information from agents like Rapport or Shefter so they can break news. To think Cronin or Biggs gets secrets to leak is wishful thinking.  They go with their gut to talk and both do wonderful work.

IMO, everyone on here knows everything I say is my opinion. There is nothing I seen her predict that was first time hearing it or where she scooped a story. How ever you wish to hear when I speak is up to you. And you're entitled to have a different opinion, I'm not here to convince anyone the right or wrong thing.

I'm on her Twitter and watch her podcast. My memory fades me so if I missed something she had a scoop on, I will gladly say I'm wrong.

Agree, I believe at other times for the bears, someone might have gotten inside information but Poles hasn't shown since he's been here.

I'm not trying to dog you out.  It's your grammar that states fact vs thought.  I try not to judge, because I know where your heart lies.  It is sometimes confusing though.

I understand, I'm just not sure at 73 , I'm going to learn to speak differently.  We are all passionate about our opinions, so I never get mad over little things. Reasonable people discuss things and you always have been a reasonable person.

It probably comes from plumbing for 55 years, I speak exactly because people with less knowledge would always try to tell I was wrong about something. I'm highly intelligent when I speak of plumbing  but that's the only thing I'm an expert on. AND I have been wrong before, but it was a rarity.

I do have a question for you to address your experience. When I played football it high school at an above average level and went to college, my first year I hurt my back, it was the last time I played.

My question is being college roommates with Thuney and still friends does that give him a slight advantage over another center coming in here?

It's a leg up when you know somebody and trust them.  I've always said, continuity is key.
