AZ54 Posted May 18, 2013 Report Share Posted May 18, 2013 We have to give some credit to Emery (and in the past JA) because we don't get these deals done by being cheap. Cliff does a great job of assessing the market and we pay a little above average. I know the slots are all bracketed but there is still some wiggle room and there are quite a few teams the try to squeeze all they can out of that. Are rookie first round contracts now for 4 years only? I was just surprised it wasn't a 5 year deal. Either way, it's nice to be done. Either way, it's nice to be done. Yes. Per new CBA all are now 4 yr deal. Can't even be renegotiated until after 3rd yr. I believe there's also a team option that can be picked up by team for yr 5 for a certain amt.
