Mock Drafts
if there were good LT options that would be there for us in the 2nd round, then I could see it. But in this draft, its either the first pick, or you're adding another body to the mix thats already crowded with mediocre players. Is there a second round LT that is clearly better than Amagadje, Jones, Benedet and the new guy? Now of course, I didnt know Trapilo's name last year pre draft when I did a lot of pre draft film watching, so if they have another hidden gem in mind, then that changes things. But from where im sitting now, I think there's more depth for Edge and S that will be there in the second round, than at LT?

Dexter Lawrence?
if you add in Garrett, that clears $10M off the cap

Dexter Lawrence?
I absolutely would give up one of our 2nd rounders straight up for him. Preferably the Bills pick - basically think of it as DJ for Dexter.

Dexter Lawrence?
The Bears cap situation is pretty solid - it’s tight this year but than the albatross players on dline open up (Ayo and Jarrett). They have a lot of flexibility coming there plus still have a ton of flexibility for guys under contract too.
-
Dexter Lawrence?
Again if Lawrence issues were an injury and just bad luck and they don’t any long term concerns and view him as a guy who will be an all pro…my offer probably wouldn’t be realistic. That said - Lawrence most of his career would be a massive upgrade. Another scenario I would consider is both 2nd rounders and Dexter for Lawrence and their 2nd rounder.

Id be good with something similiar to this. The only DEs id take 1st rd are Mesidor or Parker. We really only need a starting safety and the rest can add young competition to eventually be upgrades.

If I'm not mistaken, Schoen, the NYG GM, is the brilliant mind who allowed Barkley to leave and sign with the Eagles. I wouldn't be surprised to see him screw this up. Lawrence is traded for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Does Poles make the trade? I doubt it. The Bears' future cap health would be at risk.

Mock Drafts
This is exactly how most of my mocks have been going. I usually take Bryce Lance in the 4th instead of the Center, but it could go either way. But yes those exact names keep coming up for me over and over.

Mock Drafts
Mock taking the LT round 1, Valeb Lomu. Thought about Blake Miller or Max Iheanachor, but they might be more of a reach. AJ Haulcy who can start at S and Dennis-Sutton at DE who gets in rotation. Hecht gets a prospect developing at C, Claiborne who will become the lightning back for the Bears and make a 3 headed RB stable. Gusta as developmental 3T has the high motor, effort, a d discipline to develop. Last WR, Wetjin, brings speed to the slot and return game.

At this point, I wait until after the draft, or at least after the first round. The Giants purported ask is astronomical and if someone else wants to pay it, fine. If he’s still in NY on Friday, maybe There’s a deal to be had, but let’s just se what happens if he’s still there after the draft ends.

I think 3 of the first four picks have to go to LT, DE and S. The other could go DT, but it could be CB or WR very easily too Then if you look at whats available for our 2nd round picks, it makes me think we go LT with pick #25.

I don't see the Bears taking 2 DTs, but can get behind either. Woods had a decline performance in 2025, but was a Jatrett clone before. Banks is a specimen, rare size and athletic ability if his foot is good. Depends on how the Bears see them under their supervision. Since they signed 3 DTs, they will probably draft one late and get an edge early as you want

He's already knocking ont he door of $30M and holding out. Since neither of us has a crystal ball, i'll come at it this way: if you're right about what he wants to be paid, then yeah, Im all in on your trade idea, or even a little more if that's what it takes. If he wants $40M/yr would you still want him? I was willing to pay Myles Garrett something like that, so is Dexter worth as much as Garrett? Again, Im really asking, what do you think?
-
Mock Drafts
I don’t really like Woods or Banks. I guess I could live with Banks in the 2nd but really don’t want Woods in the first. Change it to an Edge and I’d be OK with it.

I can't imagine him getting that - feels like he wants more guaranteed money but he's at a fair going rate. I am pleasantly optimistic if his pressure rate remained high. For some reason I thought I had read that it was also down in '25. Again - I'm not giving up a 1st. I thought about one of our 2nd rounders - but didn't love that either given the cost and fact they were coming off bad year (and less leverage). But I do think if you could get him for a move back (25 for 37) and than a sweetner (pick next year) or a 3rd this year (and we pick up there 4th rounder) that lets them jump up and get 5th year option in round 1 and get another pick earlier in the draft.

Dexter Lawrence?
He's a hell of a player, and the trade scenario that DABEARS suggested would be a steal for us. I suspect they'd want more. But it's clever to regain that 37th pick. The concern I have is salary cap. He wants a lot of money. he's already set to make $27M and $29M for the next two years, and he's holding out, so he's gonna want a lot. Today, Will Anderson Jr signed an extension with the Falcons for $150M over three years WITH a no trade clause. In light of that, I dunno if I can see paying Lawrence $40M+ a year. I'm not an expert on him, so maybe he is worth it. Anyone want to argue that he is? I'm all ears.

I’m still in on this deal for the right price. Lawrence is an elite talent. He’s basically unblockable when he’s on his game. Lots of comments about the lack of sacks last year but he was 7th among Dline in pressures. That’s in an injury plagued year. Looking at his pressures since 2022 for a NT he’s 3 times higher than the next best. Billings had 12 pressures last year. From the AI search Dexter Lawrence recorded a total of 341 pressures over his NFL career up to the 2025 season. This includes 34 pressures in the 2025 season alone.

Dexter Lawrence?
I don't know what drove Lawrence to have a down year last year - but if the front office thought it was an anamoly and they thought he could still be the player he was most of his career - I would be open to a deal but very particular. Basically Lawrence and 25 to move back to 37. So Giants get to jump back up into the 1st round and Bears move back 12 picks. If we needed to give like a future 5th fine.

Roster Construction
It stinks, but it also exposes how thin or behind the Bears are at roster depth and development. Lets hope we have long term stability with Poles and Johnson and can build that.
-
Roster Construction
It’s really crazy how two completely unlikely random events - Trapilo getting majorly injured in the playoffs and Dalman retiring, affected this draft. Think how focused we could be if we don’t have to (potentially) address LT and C long-term.

Mock Drafts
With Receivers Odunze, Burden, and Loveland as top 40 picks, I just don't see the Bears drafting another one in the first few rounds. There are other areas of need even if WR is truly BPA there.

I love this draft other than the WR like Mongo stated. He's a really good prospect but at 2, I would look at a better CB or another Edge and draft Halton or Kayeb Proctor in the 4 th where their value is rated. The bears draft board won't be similar to most big board ratings so hard to say where the players values fall. I have been watching a lot of videos and am now thinking Messidor may be the instant pass rush we need in the draft. Anthony Herron is a big 10 sportcaster and he said he has followed Messidor in his career and said he weighed more early in his career and played DT and gave pressures every where he played, a true football player. His age and injury concerns could drop him to 25 and lower. I would drop 5 to 10 spots back and if there, draft him. Or if gone Jacas.
