  2. Sanborn, Sewell and Edwards are all slow by anyone's standards. DA likes them fast, which is NOT a height weight trait. I'm still thinking we draft a talented LB. lf you can't stop the run, the pass rush has little chance...

Our first two visits happened. They brought in a RB, Seth McGowan/ UK and a center from Kentucky Jager Burton.. He is the 17th ranked OC on draft buzz. An UDFA type. McGowan is the 9th rated RB on draft buzz. 4.49 speed. He is an explosive type RB with a 43.5 vertical and 131" broad. Overall rank #170. Would be a mid round pick. Pick 129?
  4. Sewell is not supposed to be ready for training camp. If we draft a good prospect, I could see him being a injury settlement going away. Hyppolite did nothing but he was a project. DA likes speed so I see them giving him every chance to succeed. He has to show progress to stay here.

We don’t need him,Sewell, and Edwards. Similar skillets similar limitations. Likely Sewell is out.
  6. Today
  7. That would be fantastic. You're right, I don't see it...
  8. I know plenty here aren’t too fond of either of these guys. But I have a feeling this next season one or both will show us something.
  9. I don't think they were ever planning on a high priced DL. They stated that and never did it. I think the injured players from last year could be available by training camp. James Lynch is a rotational type player, not a player that bounces back and forth on the practice squad. He played 32% of snaps last year. Sanborn - Jackson - Edwards -Bush-Hyppolite- Sewell are our rostered LBers. They will add one in the draft but I don't think in the first 2 rounds. All the cheaper additions could easily be cut and not affect the salary cap.
  10. I would agree that is a very safe assumption. I’d even go as far as to say DE will be the first choice with Safety a close second. Once the Bears lost out in the high ticket DE FA market I feel they are now going to go with someone younger they can develop. That is unless a player currently on another roster they have their eyes on gets released.

  12. The Texas OL is a sneaky pick to play the center position in the pros. I can see Poles doing moves like that. He had 126 snaps at center this year.
  13. With Sanborn being back, I'm getting the impression they won't be taking a LB with the first few picks. As much as these lower rostered players aren't counted on to make the roster, I think it's looking more like S and DE will be the first positions addressed in the draft.. Makes me think CB could be in play also. If you look at the positions signed in free agency, it's leaving S and DE that needs additional help.

    Enter Sanman!
  15. Jack Sanborn is back. https://www.chicagobears.com/news/fast-facts-jack-sanborn
  16. Biggs had a report I think it was today - seemed to indicate don't expect any movement no these DL guys for a while. Maybe after the draft there will be some urgency - team doesn't get someone they like or address things as expected, but right now - it seems evident - Bears want Shemar plus another draft pick or two along with the continued development of Booker - as the strategy for enhancing the line. Adding one of these vets - takes away reps from one of those young players - with minimal upside. For example, Cam, Bosa, Espenosa - none of them are strong players at this point in their career. So you kind of know what your upside is there vs. giving reps to a next generation who could be material upgrades.
  17. yeah, I agree, these draft simulators are just games of course. But maybe Lee Hunter there?

Still waiting on Cam Jordan to see where he chooses to go. At this point having cleaned out his locker in NO he’s clearly just waiting on more money. That’s also what he said the other day…paraphrasing: gotta get the right value. FA players in this time frame might have to wait for the draft before teams know who they drafted and what roster holes they need to fill. So far i’ve seen nothing more than speculation the Bears are one of the teams he’s talking with.
  19. Looks like competition for Street, but yeah bottom level

Nothing more than 90-man roster depth it seems.
  21. DL James Lynch (formerly of Tennessee and Minnesota) signing on. 6’4” 290 4th round pick 2020 draft for Minnesota. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/bears-to-sign-dl-james-lynch
  22. Good draft, I like the Illini pick. Liked him better when I was mocking him round 3. Ive been taking Zuhn a lot. Seems like a GB type lineman that will be good for many years. He is also slotted as a C, I think teams worked him there to see how he fits.
  23. You are good, I was just explaining it was just observation of his type and didnt see it as an rebuttal to me.

If Caleb Banks makes it out of the first time, I will be astonished. He is a Chris Jones clone and a top 10 talent. I believe he will be drafted before Jacas. Anyway, to get those two by day two would be transformational.

I apologize if you thought I was referring to any opinion you had. That was not my intent and I know you were projecting DA.
  26. I'm just following the logic of his past and present DTs. It is what it is, not saying that is his preference but it was the rosters he has had covering the Saints top D years.
  27. Here's mine. Gets the D line addressed (I know Banks broke his foot, but maybe that means we are lucky and he falls to us int he 2nd round. I'd love Lee Hunter there too) Haulcy would be great for us, and he's likely there at 60. Malik Muhammad is an interesting prospect. Best 10 yard split of any CB. Plays outside. Id love to see what Al Harris can do with him. Bryce Lance is a Ben Johnson special. He's 6' 3" and runs a 4.34 forty. Might have to pick him in the 3rd in the real draft. He played at a smaller school, but he's got all the tools. And then I picked two OL who are good at pass blocking, and are real angry road graders. They can play OT or OG.
  28. I agree with him being drafted higher than most search engines have him rated. I don't think he makes it to the first round mainly because of the numbers of DEs listed in front of him. It would be great to go down 5 to 10 spots and grab him . I think he will be the most productive DE in this draft the first year. Some may be better in a few years.
