Week 4 Official Game Thread - CHI @ LVR, 9/28, 325pm, CHI +1, O/U 47.5, CBS

The Raiders can be had thru the air and are decent against the run. They have 7 sacks of which 4 were in the first game against the Patriots.( we have 5) They average 350 passing yards against them. Jeanty is averaging less than 50 yards a game at 3.1 yards a carry. Geno Smith isnt special, 4 TDs and 4 Ints. Is averaging 12 yards a game running the ball. The Raiders offense is averaging 18 points a game, Being on the road may not be an advantage because of the transient crowd that go to games. Lots of Bear fans will be there. 38-16 Bears will win Caleb 4 TDs. -

I think its going to end up a home game for the Bears. Many ticket holders are transients and not LV residents. More Bear fans than Raiders fans. IMO - Today

I was surprised to see LV as the favorites, although being less than 3 points favorite at home is basically saying the game is a toss-up. Can we get some pressure on Geno and stop the run? If yes, I think we can win big, Bears 32 LVR 17 If no, I hope we can pull it out, but it will be tight, w/last-minute FG, Bears 24 LVR 23

Congrats! Hope the Bears give you a present in celebration of your old age. LOL

Im not saying I dislike Skat, I would love to have him but we didnt draft him.

It’s easy to forget how difficult it is to be an NFL QB. That puts it into perspective. I watched some of the film study and Caleb is starting to see the field and read defenses well. Yet there is still room for growth.

I feel about as good with this one as I did with last week. The offense has been trending in the right direction for 3 weeks in a row. The only real thing that's held them back has been those drive-ending penalties. If they can avoid those on Sunday, I think they can put up a lot of points again. Everyone in this division is annoyingly 2-1 again except for the Bears.. If they want to keep pace, they can't give these games away against mediocre competition. At some point, they are going to have to win a couple against playoff-caliber teams to have a realistic shot at the playoffs, but we'll worry about that in a couple weeks.
-
This is my big 6-0 dream trip, so I'll be there bringing the heat! Can't wait...💪🏈

100% agree. i don’t care what anyone says, the first round TE pick was stupid. All the 12 personnel and different type of TE talk is meaningless unless the first rounder is used in surplus. He’s simply not needed as much as a DE or OT was/is needed.
-
Perhaps, but he looks like a ball of relentless energy. A full on battering ram who has juggernaut tendencies. And the Bears don’t appear to have a single RB who can attack the LOS with more than mediocre intent.

I was yelling at BJ when it was 4th and 2, Bears had a lead and they didnt kick the FG. Thank God DJ was standing by the goal post for the TD. I said now we will lose by 3. -
I was one of those who didnt like Skattebo as a pro, but he has played especially yesterday. I have a feeling RB will be addressed somewhere in rounds 1-3.
-
Except Stinger. He was the first that had the balls to post...🤪
-
Would love that - I also want to see the ground attack continue to improve as the oline continues to gel. Defensively my hope is Stevenson has another good game and we see some progress across the board in terms of clean up - and the dline starting to gain confidence than get to bye week and come out of that with Gordon and Edward’s back too plus Booker who was looking real good in camp / preseason and have Jarrett getting back to 100 percent.

A little early to judge a current draft. after 3 games?
-
Poles really does suck. Take your pick for OT in the first, probably can trade back from 10 and still get Simmons. Burden was a no-brainer once the Ohio St RBs went, but what about Mukuba over Trapilo in the 2nd, then trade the Turner pick for later ones to pickup Skattebo and Gadsden. Poles would be better off using mock draft simulators. Josh Simmons/Greg Zabel (OT) - 1st Luther Burden (WR) - 2nd Andrew Mukuba (S) - 2nd (Trapilo) Cam Skattebo (RB) - 3rd/4th (Turner) Oronde Gadsden (TE) - 4th/5th (Turner)

I haven’t seen the defense do very much, and the pass rush looks non existent, but this is an offense year. Against the Raiders I want to see Caleb go for 300+ yds and/or 3TDs.

I haven’t liked an uncertain player a ton in quite some time. I remember being in love with Randy Moss and being told he was way too big of a risk. Well, I loved Skattebo also, and many were uncertain about him. Too slow. Bad competition. Won’t translate to the NFL. Even though he appears to be fast-tracking towards CTE, he could have been the guy the Bears picked to fill an obvious need. i wonder if the Bears front office even considered drafting him? Has anyone seen reports suggesting one way or another?
-
That’s an EASY decision then. He’s gone.
-
I think it was indicative of our expectations. We are used to getting a lead and then losing it. We are traumatized. We expect failure, and didn’t want to jinx anything.
-
So looking up some different stats, I was shocked to find out that there is only one QB in NFL history to open their career up with over 4,000 Passing Yards, +25 Passing TDs, less than 10 INTs, and 500 Rushing Yards before the age of 24. Caleb Williams. I think he has 5 more games before hitting 24. So every stat he gets will stack onto this own record. He should easily hit 5K and 30 TDs by then. Crazy.
-
He runs into the back of a blocker or into a defender on every run. Even on the long screen pass, if he keeps running right, he gains 10 more or might have scored. Instead he cuts back towards the defender and runs into a tackle.
-
So 9 wins seems very realistic, with up to 11 if they take care of the teams they should be (going 6-0), and splitting the division games (going 3-1 for the remaining 4). NYG, CLE, NO, CIN, LVR, and WAS 5-1 PIT and SF (w/o Bosa) 1-1, could win both. BAL and PHI 0-2, could sneak 4 DIV Games (MIN, DET, GBx2) 2-2

Week 3 Tankathon Standings: 1. NYJ 0-3 2. NO 0-3 3. TEN 0-3 4. MIA 0-3 5. NYG 0-3 6. HOU 0-3 Bears now 14th at 1-2, with all teams from 7th-15th at 1-2.
