  1. Today

  2. I like walking the river north area up to Michigan Ave, always a spectacular site for photos with water, architecture, and lights.
  3. As you probably heard I’m heading to Chicago in a few weeks for my first live game at Soldier Field. As a lifelong fan it’s crazy (to me) that I’ve never seen the beloved play in person, let alone at Soldier Field. Seen plenty of other teams over the years, just not Chicago. Wife thought we should go before they move on to wherever they end up next. To say I’m amped would be an understatement. We have a pretty full agenda for this trip but always appreciate any local perspectives if you guys have any. I fully intend to participate in the tailgate stuff so that’s on the list. Any other ideas? I’ll be sure and wave to to all when we’re at the game.
  4. Back in my playing days, after a game of many penalties and mistakes, the first day back to practice would involve hundreds of ‘up down’ drills and bear crawls up hills and such. Occasionally the coach would participate. Something tells me Johnson would be that type of guy.

I respect a HC when he holds his team accountable for their mistakes. I respect them even more when they hold themselves accountable.
  6. They are talking about three plays. You dont lose 39-22 and have it come down to three penalizes.
  7. Halas was a dumbass compared to Johnson. He was conservative and overtly cheap with investing on the infrastructure of the team. For a founding franchise, the Bears haven't won their fair share and that's because of him. Jim Finks, Buddy, then Ditka were more than the family could screw up. Papa Bear will always be a legend, but he sucked in the long run.
  8. Garrett expected to miss 4 games with knee injury.
  9. Haven’t seen much of that game but my Packer neighbors are texting things like ‘the refs suck’ and ‘well sh*t’ so I took that as a good omen.
  10. Yesterday

  11. We got a double whammy today, Packers are getting their ass kicked.
  12. Take some deep breathes and enjoy what we just saw. We have plenty of time to nit pick the team.
  13. I really enjoyed this game. The mistakes were irritating. Caleb was impressive. Watching him play as cool as he did showed comfort, trust and maturity. It was also nice to have Braxton Jones name only mentioned when he got kneed in the kidney. Great start by our rookies in the defensive backfield, as well.
  14. After extending Swift, who came out today with thunder, this offense only needs to think about a LT. We have serviceable guys, but can use a cornerstone. The draft definately going to be defensive line and CB. Two well paid DB guys we planned to count on, 3 with Stevenson, are not living up anymore. Thought Thienenen and Muhammed played well in their first game, so I know we can find guys. As for wanting to fire Dennis Alan for Al Harris, I wasnt too impressed with the DB guys who should be our best.
  15. As we have seen they have been moving assets to the offensive side of the ball. It is paying off. With BJ and Caleb, I can clearly see use giving a run at being the highest scoring team in the league .(ever)
  16. I’m going to be celebrating all week after this. No NFL team is perfect and that’s nearly impossible to build in the modern era. Win the way your team is built to win. Seattle did it last year with focus on defense. Bears fans (myself included) are always focused on defense. After 5 decades enjoying wins with scores like 20-17, I will be bragging at work all week in having a Bears team that can score more than 50pts in a game. Building the offense has been the focus for the last 3 drafts and this is one heck of a payoff. See where our team is at mid-season and then maybe swing a trade for a guy like Crosby if he’s still healthy. That gives the rookies time to learn. The entire NFL is on notice.
  17. All of this with Loveland not getting a catch. We had 292 yards rushing today. Monongai had 100 yards as a backup.
  18. As much as our defense gave up 37 points, am I out of line for saying , we should only have positive vibes after winning by 22 points today. The 59 points on the road in an imperfect game, tells me there is more of this to come.
  19. What a game today. An awesome performance from the offense today. How nice is it for the Bears to have an offense that is not perfect but can put up these numbers. 59 points, its not that long ago when we struggled to score. What a great performance from the monsters of the midway 💪💪💪
  20. I wasnt impressed with the linebackers, most CBs, and Dline. I cant put this all on DA. Blame Poles and Ben for using assets to build around a QB.
  21. Never been a fan of Allen’s. I’d be perfectly fine with them making Al Harris the DC.
  22. As good as our offensive showing was, our defense was truly offensive! They stunk up the stadium.
  23. Jahdae deserves a game ball. He’s everywhere from special teams plays to big blocks on running plays to TDs.
  24. He’s an old man. He’s lost that quick twitch. Hopefully getting more game reps he gets some of it back. These running plays behind Darnell Wright. I’m just going to call him I-58 because he’s opening up a highway.
