Yes, I just sent him another invite via Yahoo to ranordoorguy@gmail.com to take ownership of My Team Sucks.

I assure you Ryan Poles is 100% planning for the future. It was abundantly clear in draft picks like Trapilo Burden Newman. His job is to restock the roster with good young talent that is cheap. No reason we can’t speculate how that might play out over the next year or two. To put it another way: I want to see Burden become so good this year that DJ Moore is WR3 next year.
-
try to focus on football Im tired of your whining about how I construct sentences, word usage, proper grammar. From now on I will no longer get sucked into your pettiness . I will only be addressing football subjects. I have repeated many times about letting the season dictate what happens next year.

FWIW Im not even saying here that we should have traded for Parsons. The trade price was steep, and he is injured. There are good points on both sides of that. All Im really saying is that *IF* the right player is available, you can find more cap room by doing things (like restructuring contracts) than it currently shows we have on spotrac or overthecap. Im saying you can't just look at those numbers and calculate how much cap is available. But trading for Parsons has a lot more detail that is debatable than simply whether the cap space could exist, which is the only point Im making.
-
I look at this trade as similar to us signing Khalil Mack and that didn’t turn out great, i.e., multiple super bowls and affected our cap with lots of dead cap money. I am reasonably happy with our roster and as others have stated, our season depends on whether Caleb Williams is what we hope he is, if not, signing Parsons would have no impact on our chances of reaching a superbowl.
-
The cap is more flexible than people think it is. And it goes up every year too, so signing a big ticket player is almost always possible. And while Id entertain that idea for a true stud, I dont think Zadarius Smith fits that definition. If it's a true top 5 impact edge rusher, then it is possible, but otherwise you dont stretch your cap like that for most players. Then again, I dont know what Smith is asking for. Im discussing the hyposthetical situation where someone wants $40M a year. That IS possible, but it might require some trades etc. SO Im not saying we should do this, just that it is financially possible if the right situation were to come up. For example, the trade value for Parsons was more likely the bigger impediment to us having him (or someone like him) here than the cap space.

you thin skinned moron. Im sorry you cry about possible 2026 trades, but thats life snowflake.
-
Last year we had the least dead cap space in the league by a big margin. Say what you want about Poles but he has did a good job and managing the cap so far. People got paid and after a yr or two, those contracts look team friendly in comparison to contracts handed out currently. JJ may end up being a problem with a I want to pay more but it wont happen this yr. His contract ends in 2027.
-
The player who signed a contract yet hinted he needs more money. I hope Poles restructured him to help the team in the future so they dont get stuck with less dead cap if he demands a trade.

Adam is there a way to switch the MY TEAM SUCKS team to Mike Gretsy at ranordoorguy@gmail.com. I put both under my name 2 yrs ago when he was in that motorcycle accident and was in the hospital. Then paid for it and got it back from him. I tried to switch to his email as a preference and it also changes my team email preference. We are listed as co managers on his team. It would be a lot easier if these were just separate instead of a co manager situation on team SUCK.

Poles has already set the core players up with the contracts he gave out. We don't have a lot of cap space for two years. Our improvement will be from players they drafted and roster players improving. We will get to see first hand if his roster development are winners. If we have a winning season, probably would say he did a good job. If not we now have a great coaching staff to get player development and it will take another year to fix. These are my opinions, I don't pretend to know what Poles and BJ think. The fact I need to say this every time I post now seems condescending to the members of this forum but we do what we need to do to try to get along.
-
I don't agree with every point they make but a lot of them.
-
It looks like the Bears created enough cap space for operating during the season after restructuring Jaylon Johnson's contract (saved $8M on this year's cap). However, I don't think there is room to add any big ticket guys like Zadarius Smith. At most it will be a vet minimum guy that doesn't impact the cap.

I am happy to have helped you expand your vocabulary . Talk about whatever you want but now I am not allowed to have an opinion. I wish you were in a BJ press conference so you could ask the coach about (if Burden plays well, if you would want to trade DJ Moore?) Does anyone want to suggest what BJs answer would be to that question? This is a football discussion forum and I disagreed with you so you want to talk about how I form sentences and what proper words to use. Normal fans just disagree and state their point but not you . You always want to get personal instead of just leave it to football. Mongo could not have said any more relevant words( that fools want to argue) of which applies to both of us instead of just trying to get along. Maybe one day you will just try to stay on football subjects and get off your personal attacks.

no we arent just talking about getting rid of people. we are talking about getting new awesome people too, at positions of need. Also we are talking about next year, not now. You get so "butthurt" about trading people - you want an old expensive team I guess. One that's stuck at around 7 wins a year - never bad enough to get a top pick, never good enough to contend. But lots of familiar faces, so you dont need to buy new jerseys. You DO understand that when you trade someone you get something in return right? More draft picks for younger cheaper players, or impact players at positions of need. Would I trade DJ Moore straight up for a young dominant pass rusher? You bet I would, and we'd win more games as a result. As soon as Burden is as good as DJ.

We are on the verge of having something real good here and people want to talk about getting rid of people. Let the season play out and it will be clear at the end of the year what is next.

so true. we need to see it on the field before we really know anything. And youre right about the last 40 years - what a shit show. Love all of this. exactly.

All this yada yada back and forth is nothing but conjecture at best. We don’t know what anyone truly thinks, what will happen, etc. Year after year we have these discussions but the team never does what any of us want. And maybe that should tell us something since they’ve sucked for the great majority of the last 40 years. What I know is this: OL was finally a top priority. That’s what I’ve wanted since the last Super Bowl. So, in general, I get to finally see if what I believe is true. If they start trading top talent for stockpiles of 2nd rounders just before the players degrade or want a huge contract, like DBDB suggested, then that’s one more thing I want.
