This is an interesting conversation about BJs offense with Kyle Long. These comments are solely the opinion of the creators and some I share and some I do not.

You are correct about targets attempted but Detriot was second in the league in rushing attempts because of their high level RBs and I dont see us being that good. I think we end up leaning on the passing game more. Last year we had (rushing) 431 attempts and Lions 534. Passing attempts Bears 566, Lions 551. Then success rate comes into play as far as padding individual stats per team.

JJ starting camp on non football injury list

DJ got caught up in the dysfunctional offense and quit on Flus like several other players. Last year is an outlier, he has always been consistent in his career with lots of bad talent. Doubt you see anything close to that this year with an accountable HC demanding excellence. Cleveland is paying Denzel Ward 82 mil over the next 3 years. Garrett and Watson contracts are blown up to . They are crazy for those kind of contracts in Cleveland. Like you said this is normal behavior for JJ over the last few yrs, he will be here ready to play very soon. -
Ya he is going to have to earn it and he better be able to block some for BJ to buy into him totally.

JJ has always maintained that he works out in CA in the offseason to be near his daughter and nothing has changed in that regard. He's done that for years and still become one of the better CBs in the NFL. That and some casual comments about other CBs getting exorbitant contracts doesn't mean he doesn't want to play. GMs have just gone crazy stupid with spending lately and concentrating so much money on so few players will not work out well IMO. I don't like guaranteed deals either...it leads to laziness and poor habits. I think it's just human nature when we have nothing to work for. DJ Moore being exhibit #1 last year.

Glad to hear it, it will now be the destination place to watch NFL games . I think there are several groups doing that. CHGO has a trip planned too.

I dont think he has approached the Bears asking for a new contract. I just think he's making comments, and like you said, he's not a big offseason guy, so i think the Bears don't mind sitting him for several reasons, and it's just good practice to get your other CBs reps if you think 2025 might be JJs last year for example. Or as a proactive move to give guys experience in case of injuries. -
That’s almost exactly my point regarding Keenan Allen. Instead of him stealing targets, it’ll be a rookie TE. i don’t know how there can be a drastically higher number of attempts this year. Hell, Goff had LESS attempts last year than Caleb.

Burden needs to stay healthy. He's already way behind other players who were able to practice during the off-season program. Both Loveland and Burden need to be factors this year for the Bears to do anything special. Sometimes I wonder if Ben Johnson thought Burden was milking his injury a little bit during mini-camp, based on the things he said at his press conference. I wouldn't be surprised if Burden started out behind Zaccheaus at the beginning of camp, just to make it clear that he needs to earn his position, and it starts by being available. Soft tissue injuries are sometimes an indicator of poor weight training habits in the gym.

Not sure if you heard, but ESPN 1000 put together a trip to Vegas for the Raiders game. The whole cast is going plus Briggs, Thayer and Joniak. Private tailgate and swag. And Mongo is going! Wifey hooked me up for an early big 6-0 gift. If interested, look at TrueFan Travel...

Yeah, he said something like "The Bears can find another CB, but my daughter can't find another father", as if he's the only dad playing in the NFL. -

It's probably nothing major. He could be sick, or have one of those "personal" issues that always conveniently occurs during off-season practices. I don't think he's dumb enough to demand a new contract already after 1 year, but I guess we'll see. He totally seems like a guy who just doesn't put much value in off-season programs at this stage of his career, similar to guys like Aaron Rodgers. He's always going to be looking for an excuse to miss as much time as he reasonably can to save his body for the games that count. You'd like to think he'd show more of a sense of urgency to be there for the new staff, but whatever.. -
The OL is singular the most important and improved part of our team. Obviously Caleb has to excel but I believe he will. I am looking at different opinions and ranking and sharing information with the website. I think we are top 10 in the league as a floor and top 5 as a ceiling. It hinges on the production we get out of our LT position no matter who is starting. I cant believe i have to say this everytime I post something now. These ranking and opinions are that of the creators. The top 5 that includes the bears starts at 59.09 but the whole video is interesting if you value the OL. I thinki PFF is close on this information they are providing but not perfect.

These are two talents that will have success more in the future than this year. Loveland and Bruden will have roles in this group but think because of the reasons you listed wont be the top targets this year. 2026 will be the year we get to see all our weapons running at the same speed and boy will that be fun.

Agree with everything you had to say. I think in order of targets DJ-Rome-Loveland-Kmet-Burden- the rest of the targets will be distrubted amongst the rest.

JJ gives the impression he is underpaid because of the large contracts different CBs are getting in the present. He is presently listed as the 13th highest. Truth can be seen in what the next 3 yrs pays him and pays other CBs listed ahead of him. 63 mil in hand money Sauce Gardener; next 3 years 64 mil Stingley Jr- 64,5 mil Jaycee Horn- 53 mil Jalen Ramsey- 60 mil Patrick Sutain- 53 mil A J Terrell- 56 mil Denzell Ward-82 mil Marlon Humphrey- 55 mil Trevon Diggs- 55 mil Marshon Lattimre - 36.5 mil Tyson Campbell- 43 mil L'Jarius Sneed- 63 mil I will throw out the top salary and worst with the concept those are out of line. The average for the other 11 is 57 mil. The top 4 make 64.5-64-63-63 the rest are below 60 mil. So by over all salaries, JJ is 5th in paid money for the next 3 yrs. I would say JJ is not the best CB in the league, I would rate him a top 5 CB and that is exactly where he is getting paid. -
Kmet was limited last year because Keenan Allen took his targets and more. Some of the blame goes to Caleb because he wasnt getting through all the progressions and seemed to look DJ and Keenans way. This year, Rome will get Keenans targets, but I predict Caleb's efficiency will improve which will help feed the other mouths.

I have always had the same thoughts as you. I disagree he will be more minimized this year. We are looking at the limitations of our offense thru the same box we always have. The BJ offense will have many more snaps and more targets to share this year. I, as you , dont think he is the winner of the new offense of BJ s but will not be ignore him. Statistically I think the great talent( Loveland) and the steady eddie (Kmet) will be simiiar in targets when the season is over. From 2026 going forward Loveland will gain more and more targets as a star in this league. BJ will shares the targets and we will see as the season progresses how those are distributed.

AZ54 is the most commonsense and respected member on here. He just pushed back on your POLES LOVER bears fans comment and you have a normal conversation with him. Funny how that works.

I like Poles I give him a C+ as a grade. I post things for everyone to look at. You keep grouping me in some bonehead lover of Poles-Fields ect. Just because I like someone for some reason doesnt make me a cult member of their fan club. I give both good and bad traits but you only blindly see something I said positive and blow it out of proportation. I post all kinds of videos from different creators and if they say something you dont like , right away its a shitshow and you start you rant on me putting words in my mouth, believe this, like that. You never consider the overall post. I post a video, I agree with that opinion, you take things to extreme. (almost every time). I am just sharing other peoples opinions and if they dont meet your standard, BOOM Let restate again, If I have an opinion that is not yours, shared by some sportcasters-coaches-players, they dont know what they are talking about because you are so much smarter than them. Its not about getting a win over you,(delusional war you created). I am just having a discussion on this site just like you except any push back I have of your opinion, BOOM, you attack me and berate me. You keep proving my point with comments like these. (But when we swim against the current on narratives, only one person here gets upset.) (That's what these podcasters do - very little actual analysis, and even less with film, just repeating the same stories everyone is saying for clicks. They arent analysts, theyre sportswriters and worse, and theyre almost always wrong.) (But youre trying to score a win against me. So all the narcissist and ego stuff you say, its you, dude, not me.) This site is called BEARSTALK FORUM not BEARSFAN PHX

Thats good! I'm just saying there are a lot of people out there that just read the regular sportswriters and share those opinions. If they are smart enough not to be sold on Poles, so much the better. But when we swim against the current on narratives, only one person here gets upset. Most in this board (including you) I find are reasonable, hopeful, but reality based. Anyway, I was saying other people must read the same stuff Stinger reads and feel the same as him. I was trying to be generous. If Poles fans are rarer, then he is even more out on a limb - I was just trying to be hospitable?

Yeah and he made that comment the other day. In spring of 2024, he got his new deal, I think he was the top CB paid at that point? If not certainly in the top few. Now he's saying in an interview that a lot of CBs got paid more and it might be time to renegotiate. After one year? I dunno if that has anything to do with it, but i am thinking the bears want to get their other CBs some reps. And while Im not predicting it, and JJ is a good player, i wont be shocked if he gets traded. probably not, but its not impossible. You dont chest up to the new coaches their first year. If you look at how his contract is written, we cant do it this year, but next year and any year after we can trade him and it costs us basically $5M against the cap to do it with $16M of increased cap space - or we can keep him for $21M a year against the cap if hell play for that. -
Wasn’t he the dude who previously said something about football can wait because he wanted another day with his kid?
-
The only difference between this year and many others in the past 15-20 years is the bright offensive mind and legit focus on OL. There were many years where someone on this board said something like, “Look at all the weapons! Unstoppable!” We shall see. But I think Kmet is a blossoming TE talent being drastically held back, and he will be even more minimized this year.
