Jackson knows the defense, that was an underrated signing for the Bears. All we need Jackson and Hyppolite to do is not make any major mistakes. Sewell was below average anyway imo so his loss is not as big.
-
Well that is unless you think the team will be drafting 32nd overall next year. ๐ I get what you're saying, and youโre right. I agree this isnโt anywhere close to a finished product. The real test now is whether Johnson can coach well enoughโand instill enough of that winning mindsetโto carry the team through each game week after week, regardless of the score. It reminds me of Dan Campbellโs early years in Detroit. Even though the team still looked and played like the โsame old Lions,โ you could sense them getting better because Campbell simply willed it into existence. The question is: does Johnson have that same kind of moxie? I guess weโll see. So far, itโs been relatively โeasyโ by comparison. (IMHO)

Whoever the trainer is in Chicago needs to not have a job anymore. Completely unacceptable to have so many players missing time with soft tissue injuries. If Gordon and Johnson can't play, I have no idea what Dennis Allen can do to salvage the defense in this game. They won't have enough bodies to be in Dime, and playing Dime against a team that runs a lot of 2 and 3 TE sets is usually not a good strategy anyways... I think they might have to borrow a page out of Brian Flores' playbook and start run blitzing on early downs with their DB's to account for the lack of quality LB'ers. If the Bears are going to win this game, they might have to score 40+ again, like in CIN.

Edmunds, Edwards, and Sewell are all out for Sunday. Another entire position group gone. This is gonna be ugly. It is not like the D-Line can pick up the slack or the secondary can cover up the LB weaknesses. TEs and RBs are going to have a field day against Hyppolite and Practice Squad LB. Not good.

I was writing my reply and didn't see yours until I posted.

There are way too many variables to account for to evenly compare two different games, even though that's what we do. Weather, injuries, officials, home/away, rest. You almost have to treat each week as if both teams are 0-0. Any Given Sunday is real.
-
Any given Sunday is very true. We could be overlooked and under prepared for by our opponent. We could call and execute a perfect or flawed game. We could get breaks or get hosed by the officials. What we can control is our attitude. The right attitude, leads to better focus and intensity. Those traits lead to better practice and study habits. Repetition of those lead to consistent execution. We are seeing this at the end of games lately. The team is learning to win. I personally believe that the fold part is over. Don't get me wrong. We can still take an ass whooping, but we aren't gonna lie down for it anymore. Bear down!

I don't think anyone is out there saying this Bears team is a finished product. It's just year 1 of this coaching staff and turnaround. I don't know any Bears fan that think we're a Superbowl contender. Everyone I talk to is just happy that we now have a roster that no longer quits in close games and that our offense keeps getting better each week. I'm still not accustomed to all the chunk plays we get each game but 3rd and 10-15 is no longer the death sentence it has been for many years.

I saw a recent post earlier today that was on an NFC trash-talking site I visit occasionally. Someone posted the W/L record of every NFL team against teams with winning records. For the Bears they showed "0%" . Considering I find myself easily tricked by social media and AI I decided to take a look (with ironically some help from AI). Of the teams they've played so far: Even though the Bears currently face the second-hardest schedule in the NFL, they still haven't beaten a team thatโs above .500. Pittsburgh will be the first real test to show how โlegitโ this group is. As a lot of people have pointed out, theyโve managed to get this far despite a pile of injuriesโespecially on defenseโso getting guys like Johnson and Gordon back will be huge. The big question is whether the team has actually made the offensive progress that many claim, or if theyโll fold once they start facing opponents who are truly gearing up for the playoffs. I ask that somewhat rhetorically, because last night Houston absolutely throttled BuffaloโAllen got sacked eight times. It just reinforces that this season feels wide open, and as the old saying goes, โAny Given Sunday.โ

LOL...I see what you did there. Unless...you mean to suggest they're trading their #1 pick?

I always got the animosity towards me, after he went to name calling I pushed back but he seems to attack members for no reason at all but just to be an asshole. Your point was correct and he always twisted things I said to butt heads with me. I always tried to reason with him on our discussion but he always took it to fight mode. I always felt bad because 95% on here are always reasonable and still can have disagreements. He calls you out for no reason at all, I think he likes conflict and pushes conversations to that point. Mongo can be stirred up but he always goes back to reasonable conversation. It just comes down to name calling and he always went there first with me and then I got involved in calling him out in the same manner. I dont see his responses and he still pulls me into stuff and Im not even part of the conversation. He did commit 80% of the conflict and I am sorry I went there because you guys dont deserve the chaos it created.ย ย

I don't think full participant necessarily means he's playing. There's a lot to football conditioning and one Thur practice followed by a light Fri practice isn't enough in my opinion.

Great news for JJ, looks like he is playing this weekend:

He must be giving you a hard time for any support you may have given me. It's okay , you can never have a discussion with that type of person. I'm not seeing anything he says anyways, so it just doesnt matter. . Let him say what ever he wants. Interesting to see this considering he was a draft option for us. https://steelerswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/steelers/2025/11/20/steelers-arthur-smith-kaleb-johnson-usage-week-12/87376831007/
