  1. Past hour

  2. Ben sure loves rolling the dice. I guess he assumed his high-powered offense could gain one yard!
  3. Jaylon Johnson continues his rise to low mediocrity. Stevenson burned (regularly) and no Bryant in the safety spot - the defensive backfield is a mess.
  4. Odunze is amazing. Caleb and Odunze were joined at the hip the day they were drafted together.
  5. Dayo still sucks. Not sure why he’s getting so much time inside on 3rd and long but he’s useless. Likely concerned about the rookie having bad eyes but at least VDB will get upfield. Let him learn.
  6. And that's why we need to dump Stevenson, LOL The guy sucks!
  7. Agreed. If he’s anything he’s reliable and comes through at clutch times. Aka Rams playoff game . How about that Odunze catch earlier? 😳😮
  8. That's why we shouldn't consider trading Kmat! Caleb trusts him to come down with the contested end-zone throw.
  9. Early returns. Dline is much better or their oline is bad. Likely a combo of both. Thieneman is a stud.
  10. Perfect drop pass into Kmets bucket over two defenders. Now they are rolling and defense playing great up front
  11. 14 points in the first quarter. IF I do the math that's 48 points for the game.
  12. Hope the jitters are out, they can slow down and get to football under control. Swift is running like he just got paid too.
  13. The onslaught begins: Headlines (Bears down by 7 early and come back and win 41-24)
  14. Today

  15. Welp, penalty and fumble to start this magical season. Going to need more mojo. Then more penalties, Grady Jarrett juked and easy TD for Carolina on 3rd and goal.
  16. Or he could get limited snaps? Saw where X Woods is inactive so Muhammad may be playing a lot of NB and Lewis play more SS? Otherwise Sykler Thomas and Hicks will be on the field a lot.
  17. Hard to say with the active roster because we have so many DTs and Oline. Kaden adds more to special teams. So Rome might be fine
  18. Bears announce inactives (spoiler: Odunze is active!)
  19. Leave it to my stupid ass to get up early this morning. The wait is driving me crazy. Let's go!!!!!!!
  20. I see they moved Kaden Davis up from ;the PS, that must mean Rome isnt playing today? Also Moss which means Bagent isnt available.
  21. Yesterday

  22. great analysis, Ill watch for exactly that.
  23. Strategy time. Seeing the Panthers give Jaelan Phillips $120mil after a 5 sack season certainly makes me feel better about Dayo's contract. They have a good DT in Derek Brown and they run a 3-4 front. They will be starting rookie Lee Hunter, one of the pundits draft targets for the Bears at DT. They have some good DBs but that LB group seems like the place to attack. Between Phillips and the other starting OLB Patrick Jones II they don't have much pass rush off the edge. Trevis Gipson (remember him) is a backup and his best year statistically was as a Bear in 2021. At ILB they signed Devin Lloyd and he's good but next to him starting is Bobby Okereke who just signed the last week of training camp. I'm thinking we're going to attack the edge of the defense on runs and kick those OLBs out with a TE or pulling OG. None of these OLBs seem like they are the athletic type to be any good in coverage either. If we run the DBs off by sending someone deep then who fills in that intermediate gap on the sidelines 10-20 yards downfield? Loveland destroyed the Packers in the playoffs in that exact location on numerous plays. I don't have a strategy for the defense other than hoping they can stop the run. Then Jordan VDB can get in Bryce Young's face on 3rd and long.
  24. Cheap: Based on AAV this puts him 14th in the NFL among RBs this year. But he's a year early in signing so of course that doesn't include any inflation in RB salaries next offseason. Players like Rhamondre Stevenson of the Patriots, who has only exceeded 1000 yards once, makes $9mil/yr. Just below that tier sits players like Chubba Hubbard, who we get to see tomorrow, and Montgomery both making around $8mil/yr. Before next season starts and this contract extension kicks in he's likely going to have a top 15-20 RB salary. IMO that fits very well for a mid-tier starting RB. For reference Kenneth Walker III, who is pretty much in the same category statistically, just signed for $14mil/yr in FA. Except I think Swift is a better receiver. https://overthecap.com/position/running-back
  25. RBs have been getting paid and like you said, this is very team friendly. I remember the talk about Swift when he first got here, but BJ stated , it wasnt his decision to get rid of Swift in Detroit. The GM didnt want to pay him a big contract. He performed well in Philly and here he is. He's not a first tier RB in the league but he will perform well in this offense and the Bear's brass agree.
