Bears vs. Bengals
i agree with this. If Benedet can get his footwork and reaction time to outside moves a little tighter, i think he is our best option behind Trapilo. But he has struggled with those. Personally, id never trust Braxton Jones, but I know it's not like there are lot of options, so i understand the move. But he is still a liability on the field. I still have hope for Benedet, but he's not the answer either, just maybe the best #2 option.

I had no problem seeing them bring back Braxton and add Wills to up the competition. Benedict is a bull dog, but limited on pass protection due to length. He is better technical and effort. Kiran and Jones seem like the same baby huey. Have the prototype body and athletism but lazy with no kill mentality. Wills is probably closer to Benedict body wise. Then we have Ozzy, who i think will get there and be a solid LT, but doesn't have that agility the others have. So we have 5 guys with a mole. I dont see them in position to draft a gem for a couple years, so we need Ozzy to do all the right things when back.

Bears vs. Bengals
Agree ASHKUM. There's a mental effect that happens when you have a choice between a limited number of options. it's like "which spice girl was the cutest?" and the answer is empircally none of them, but because there are 5 of them you automatically decide which one is the best of the group. Street vendors of cheap jewelry use this trick all the time. They have some average crap earrings, so they put them out next to 3 other ones that are awful. They probably dont even have a supply of the bad ones, just a bag full of the average ones. And next to the others, the mediocre ones look good enough to buy. Itd be true if 2 were playing well too, wed probably all be saying one or the other of them was the best one. But yeah, putting 4 mediocre players together deosnt mean you can craft a good one out of them because of the other ones. I made that point here a few weeks ago, and it seems to be playing out. For me, Benedet is the best of the group, but maybe thats just me falling prey to what i described above. Probably the truth is that none of them is good enough. If Trapilo isnt ready opening day, we will find out who they go with. But that doesnt even mean they wont replace them by week 4 or something with someone else. Hope Trapilo is on his way back quickly, and can play at a high level when he returns.

Bears vs. Bengals
Next week of practice will be it. They need to get one of these guys capable of playing average. Hard to believe none of the 4 players elevated to take the job.
-
Bears vs. Bengals
Benedet not looking perfect either, but he's done pretty well in there I think. I think the main takeaway is that none of them is really good enough to convincingly take the job. So like i thought earlier, having 4 mid players doesnt create a good one. Thank God Trapilo is coming back at some point. He's obviously better than the rest of them "put together"

Second team is in there, Benedet at RT, and Jones still at LT - we will get a longer look at him.

Go for it, just dont whine when you get it back. For you to to think that me suggesting you watch the footage and come up with your own point of view is arrogance on my point, you really have to be butthurt and twisting things. I respect your opinion, I just wonder if youd see what i saw if you watched the same tape. Arrogance would be me saying I see the film better than you, that i know more about it or something. But i routinely say it isnt rocket science, its not ME, its the film. For any of us. What I see looks kinda obvious to me, so I naively think we might agree more if we all saw it. So that would mean I would respect your point of view, and think wed share it. If i thought you were a dumbass, and I was so far above you, then Id think "even if you saw the all 22 you still wouldnt see it ya moron" but I dont think that. So youre just interpreting me all wrong. Youre so busy trying to prove Im a jerk (Im not) that youre forced to take ridiculous positions. Im like some kind of ghost in your head LOL Im just a guy that likes the Bears. People that know me say im nice. I take care of my family, friends and neighbors. I'm a good dad. I knew a lot of people like you in NYC. I got it, youre tough. Cool. Me too. This whole thing is nonsense. If you speak roughly, Ill answer back that way. Ill assume youre enjoying it. If you decide to speak respectfully and normally, then thats what youll get back from me. Its really your choice. Just like watching the tape would be too. its not such a big deal dude.

Bears vs. Bengals
It's too bad that Benedet has had troubles this week, because I still dont see Braxton as a good player. He just had like 8 or 9 snaps, and already gave up two pressures and a holding call that stalled our drive. Yuck!

Bears vs. Bengals
Horse collar on Loveland was not called. Some things don't change. Then, Pass Interference on Rome. ;-(

Bears vs. Bengals
If we finish the game with no new injuries, I will be happy. That is my main concern. Our depth is not what it needs to be.

Bears vs. Bengals
I doubt we see them, but Dexter, Dayo, Jarrett have been ninjas all preseason. Havent heard much about them which is not good or bad but they need to audition to stay with this team next season.

You don't see it. You, literally, suggested that if everyone that cares to post on this site regularly should buy the all-22. Maybe if we all had it we would agree more. Since you're the the only one that has it, you're suggesting that we get on your level in order for us all to agree. You're subtle arrogance doesn't go unnoticed to educated readers. I don't get angry or butthurt like you do. I simply call it and you, as I see it and you. When I'm being a dick, I do not hide it. I'll end with, I like you just fine and enjoy your insight. I'll continue to bust your balls when I feel like it. BOHICA...🥂

disagreeing is fine, being sarcastic and obnoxious isnt. Or actually it is, as long as we all can do it. The tone of this board will be up to the people on it and how they choose to interact. As long as its the same for anyone, i will go whatever the speed of traffic is. If its polite, I would LOVE that. If it's chippy, I'll return in kind too. And Stinger, Im not talking about you, youve been fine for a while. I disagree with you, but you havent been rude or sarcastic.

Bears vs. Bengals
My focus: First has anyone seen anything regarding starters playing? All of my usual sources have nothing on it. LT - I listened to Tom Thayer yesterday and he said he hasn't seen anyone really take hold of the starting job at LT. I'm guessing this story continues even into the season as Ozzy works his way back. The only thing I can glean from various comments from practice observers is that Kiran is likely done. Wills might work his way back into the competition but that likely depends on his play today. Other than that maybe they just stick with Braxton for the near term to start getting continuity on the line. If Theo is the floor for all this well then we'll get to see that today as well. DTs: Can the young guys in Loving and VDBerg continue to make progress? Those are the main storylines for me. Others: DEs: Can Marcus Davenport avoid injury? Adam Mason had a graphic with his injury history and it looks like an aspirational goal for Kyler Gordon. I don't think he's ever played a full season. DBs: Malik Muhammed appears to be in the catbird seat for playing the slot. Looking for steady improvement here and I think the Bears give him plenty of reps to help him settle in before week 1. WRs: Kaden Davis are you for real? Will we even know going against backups with backup QBs? RBs: Coleman Bennett scored a TD and then got cut. Are any of these backups really deserving of the RB3 rolel?

To bring this back to a normal tone, we are all giving our opinions, its not a competition. Until the games are played nothing is a given. Its okay not to agree.

uh huh. the hostile sarcasm really shows how youre not angry or mad at me. it's a lovely tone. I'll buy what Pix said at face value, but you really need to moderate your tone if your goal is to communicate that youre not angry? And if you want to keep talking tough, thats fine too, just stand behind your words and stop pretending that you're just so innocent LOL either way is fine, I dont care, but both is ridiculous.

im just saying if we watched Benedet on the all 22 from last week, we'd see he didnt give up any sacks, and maybe one pressure, where he got walked back a bit, but still held his ground, and reestablished position before th pocket was threatened. I doubt anyone would have watched the all 22 and claimed differently. I wish I could see Benedets bad snaps from joint practices on tape, because then maybe Id agree with you guys. Right now, barring those two snaps that I only read about, i think Benedet is a good player and a better choice than Braxton Jones. I think we all agree that if Trapilo is ready, he's the best choice at LT?

I watch NFL+ but dont pay for it, an app thing. It does break stuff down easier but there is plenty of tape out there to watch. We can all watch the same play and can come away with a different opinion. Rarely is one think always black and white. So just report what your eyes see and everything is fine.

Every year it seems we have a training camp hero who never, despite my thinking he was a lock, made the final cut for the 53-man team. I hope we can somehow keep Kaden, but history says he may not make it. This is a cut-and-paste from Sports Illustrated (si.com). I was amazed when I saw the list of players who led the Bears in preseason but failed to make the cut. You have to go back to the 2017 season to find one wide receiver who survived The Turk.

Once again, we have a misunderstanding. Actually, several. First, I am not angry at you. I'm upset at the NFL's marketing efforts to extort money to watch games on TV through exclusive deals with streaming and pay-per-view services. Second, I do not dislike you. I may not always agree with you, but I certainly do not dislike you. Third, if all of us watched a specific ALL-22 tape, I assure you that it would not guarantee that we would all come to a unanimous assessment. Be it because of personal bias, past history as a player, coach, or referee, or our own knowledge base from watching football for decades, your belief that it'd put us all in the same boat doesn't float. We would still evaluate the film and, more than likely, have disagreements.

sheesh so defensive. I didnt say you need to relearn anything, what i said was that *I* have an easier time seeing a player when I am not also involved in the game in real time. I also didnt suggest some pundit that you should listen to - my suggestion inherently says that your own eyes would be the guide, so you wouldnt need to learn anything. Jeez, so angry. I get that you guys dont like me, but just because there are a few of you together, doesnt make you right. Dont buy it, I dont care. But I watch it and I know what I see with my own eyes - it's not rocket science, it's just football. Anyone can see it, but if they refuse to look, then thats another thing entirely.
