  1. Today
  2. The fact that Purdy threw five TDs to McCaffrey, a hobbled Kittle, and three dudes I couldn’t pick out of a lineup is very worrisome. If the DL doesn’t get pressure, this could be a difficult game.
  3. Have to contain McCaffrey. Kittle didn't finish the game, left with an ankle injury.
  4. I’m not looking forward to this game - bears have struggled in San Fran over the years and this is a real good Niners team. That said - let’s go Bears!!!
  5. The 49'ers are starting to look like a scary team. Just a complete evisceration of the Colts defense tonight. Almost 50 points. It looked like they were running routes on air the entire game. They haven't punted since November 30th! Unless the Bears can dominate time of possession, I have a feeling this game could get ugly.
  6. I don't know about that. The top OT's got picked before us, so Loveland was the guy. If we don't draft a penetrator, I'll be shocked.
  7. I wonder if they moved them for the same reason the Bears did with Fields. They didn't want that player, who just had his replacement drafted, around to spoil their investment.
  8. I think Dayo will play inside more next year where he is more effective. We ain't getting rid of him so hope he responds. With our Cap definitely we will rely on the draft to get better. Booker is starting to get a better game now.
  9. At first I wanted SF to lose but I hope they win so we knock them out of the potential first seed. That's a playoff game next week.
  10. Hope several make it, the OL, Byard, Wright and Blackwell deserve it. Especially if we keep winning.
  11. I wouldn't bet a lot that they go D line with their first myself, but they will address the position this offseason. Last year we were both certain they would go LT and I don't recall seeing TE let alone Loveland on anyone's Bingo card. We will all expect and mock DT/DE but who knows who is available.
  12. Right, and that isnt to say there arent a bunch of Bears players that absolutely deserve it either!
  13. I didn't like the fake ranking systems that just used "feels" to figure out how good teams are, so I made my own. On the left I have a raw score, then on the far right, a weighted ranking. The Bears are 10th raw and 5th weighted which takes into account turnover differential. I am adding Explosive Differential next to make it even more refined. However, without knowing the outcome beforehand, Rams being #1 and Jaguars being #2 (after beating DEN) feels pretty good. Does any team look out of place? Just based on tiers, LAR is in their own tier, then JAX, SEA, HOU, and CHI are probably in Tier 2, followed by BUF, DEN, and NE.
  14. I'm looking at a lot of Packers stuff. It's hysterical https://youtu.be/eqteP4BYJ0c?si=kbGPmjvFbbAZ6BHg I love it

  17. If SF loses to IND, the Bears should be favored the last two weeks. SEA has to play in CAR, and then in SF to close out the season. They just have to lose one of those for the Bears to have a shot at the #1 Seed. LAR should easily win out against ATL and ARZ to finish 13-4 and 8-4. So depending on what SEA does, they could end up as a 13-win 5-seed playing an away playoff game in CAR or TB. GB @ CHI (3rd meeting in 6 weeks) SF @ PHI SEA/LAR @ CAR/TB (CAR beat LAR, TB beat SEA) The Divisional Round could then look like: PHI/SF @ CHI (Week 13 or 17 Rematch) LAR @ SEA (3rd meeting in 10 weeks) NFCC: CHI @ SEA or LAR @ CHI (This would be crazy, because the 5th seed would have to travel to the East Coast for the Wild Card, then to SEA/LAR for the Divisional round, then potentially to CHI for the NFCC. No matter the outcome, the #1 seed is more than likely playing the #5 Seed in the Divisional Round, which should be SEA or LAR, unless the 6 or 7 seed wins in the Wild Card round. You only want to have to play the #1 seed or the #5 seed, not both because they could be the top 2 teams in the conference.
  18. Yes, but GB isn't likely to lose out. That's why I said they'll probably be eliminated before the week 18 game.
  19. I'm sure Detroit will have plenty of motivation. Question: If they win out, and GB drops their next two, doesn't that give them 2nd place in the NFCN? If yes, does that put Detroit in as #7 seed?
  20. If the Bears can beat SF this week, I think they have a pretty good shot at the #1 seed. SEA has to go to CAR and SF to finish the year, and DET (the Bears week 18 opponent) probably won't have anything to play for.
  21. still sorry but that is PI. absolutely no different putting your arm around a players neck and impeding his forward momentum than hanging onto his jersey. no different than hanging onto a players arm to impede momentum to make a catch. no different than if a ball is in the air and a defender jumps on a players back or pushes the player from behind to hinder his ability to make a catch. that is pass interference. if the nfl has changed this concept that has been around football for over a hundred years then it is complete BS.

    Pro Bowl Voting

There is a WAS fan who did it last year for Commanders players. It seems like someone did it for the Bears this year. Only the top/top guys will get in since the fan vote is only worth 1/3 of the actual voting.
  23. Wow, I asked a simple question, assuming everyone agreed with me that it was DPI, and wondered if the refs should have flagged it, even though DJ somehow managed to catch the pass. (How he was even able to see the ball with the defender's hands in front of his facemask amazes me.) My assumption was obviously wrong. Not everyone agrees that it was DPI. Which only proves how difficult it is for refs to make the call, unless the action is so blatant it doesn't need to be subjective. The only indisputable fact is that DJ caught the pass, scored a TD, and the Bears won. That is all that matters.
  24. I hate to rain on everyone's parade, because a lot of the Bears players are very deserving, but when you see McCloud on the list too, it feels like maybe someone has used technology to cast a lot of votes for Bears players?
  25. I could argue why you are wrong, but no need. We simply interpret the rule differently. It could go either way, period. Here's the rule... NFL Pass Interference (PI) is a penalty for illegally hindering a player's chance to catch a forward pass beyond one yard past the line of scrimmage, with defensive PI resulting in the ball placed at the spot of the foul (a "spot foul") plus an automatic first down, while offensive PI moves the ball back (usually 10 yards) and negates scores, with both types being difficult to officiate, leading to frequent controversy and inconsistent calls despite past experimental review rules. Key Aspects of Pass Interference Definition: An act by a player that significantly hinders an eligible player's opportunity to catch a forward pass, occurring more than one yard past the line of scrimmage. Offensive PI: An offensive player interferes with a defender. Often involves setting illegal blocks (picks) for teammates. Defensive PI: A defender impedes an offensive player from catching the ball. Penalties Offensive PI: 10-yard penalty from the previous spot, loss of down (or negates scores if on a scoring play). Defensive PI: Spot foul (ball placed where foul occurred) and automatic first down. Controversy & Rules Subjectivity: Pass interference is notoriously hard for officials to call consistently, leading to debates. Review Rule (Temporary): The NFL experimented with allowing coaches to challenge PI calls and non-calls in 2019 but did not make it a permanent rule. Recent Examples: Controversial calls on offensive pass interference in the final minutes of a 2025 Lions game highlighted ongoing debates about the rules' application, as noted by NFL.com and Detroit Free Press. Key Takeaway: While the rule aims to ensure fair play for receivers, the subjective nature of judging "significant hindrance" often creates inconsistent results, making it one of football's most debated penalties
