  3. We are a 7-3 team, call us a good bad team or a bad good team, it doesnt matter. The defense has not been good and the injuries have a lot to do with it. We are going to win because of offense and maybe a few TOs come in to play. People talk about the Steelers great pass rush but they have still given up a lot of points. The key to the game will be run baby run. A more consistent game by Caleb will go along way for us to win this game. This is going to be an end of the game win type of game. I will choose Caleb over whoever plays QB for them in the game. We have home field advantage that should contribute to less mistakes. Even if Rodgers starts the game, he will not finish it. One big hit and he's gone.
  4. No Jaylon or Gordon. This is going to be an ugly game. If they can win without their starting LBs and CBs, that would be a miracle.
  5. My fear is if there is manipulation by the league, and they want him to have his Swan Song, he comes in and magically gets a naked bootleg TD to win the game and to do the discount double check one last time. Now that would suck balls. I just want him to go away, but I understand the sentiment. The way the league has called games against the Bears, these games never feel fair.
  6. Damn, Bears' media site shows Tremaine Edmunds on IR, but no announcement from the team. 4+ games missed would suck, he was having a great year.
  7. I was curious about him. Turns out he looks to be familiar with Allen as he was drafted while Allen was HC in New Orleans. Unfortunately he was injured pretty much right off. But if he comes out this weekend and plays the hero, I may owe Allen an apologyโ€ฆ
  8. At least demoralize him like the Texans did with Josh Allen a few nights ago.
  9. I donโ€™t care how this sounds. i hope a Rodgers plays and the Bears injure him. Just like the Bears essentially retired Favre (Corey Wooten?), it would be poetic for Rodgers to get ended by the team he has traumatized and taunted so often.
  10. If i said that it was in a trade back scenario, which I still think is a logical play for us.
  11. Yesterday
  12. Jackson knows the defense, that was an underrated signing for the Bears. All we need Jackson and Hyppolite to do is not make any major mistakes. Sewell was below average anyway imo so his loss is not as big.
  13. Well that is unless you think the team will be drafting 32nd overall next year. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I get what you're saying, and youโ€™re right. I agree this isnโ€™t anywhere close to a finished product. The real test now is whether Johnson can coach well enoughโ€”and instill enough of that winning mindsetโ€”to carry the team through each game week after week, regardless of the score. It reminds me of Dan Campbellโ€™s early years in Detroit. Even though the team still looked and played like the โ€œsame old Lions,โ€ you could sense them getting better because Campbell simply willed it into existence. The question is: does Johnson have that same kind of moxie? I guess weโ€™ll see. So far, itโ€™s been relatively โ€œeasyโ€ by comparison. (IMHO)
  14. Explains the signing of Reeves-Maybin earlier this week. Probably see more of DeMarco Jackson (who already has seen the field a few times this year) and Ruben Hyppolite who I'm personally excited to see play. I recall some of his college games. He's a solid player (at least while at Maryland).
  15. Whoever the trainer is in Chicago needs to not have a job anymore. Completely unacceptable to have so many players missing time with soft tissue injuries. If Gordon and Johnson can't play, I have no idea what Dennis Allen can do to salvage the defense in this game. They won't have enough bodies to be in Dime, and playing Dime against a team that runs a lot of 2 and 3 TE sets is usually not a good strategy anyways... I think they might have to borrow a page out of Brian Flores' playbook and start run blitzing on early downs with their DB's to account for the lack of quality LB'ers. If the Bears are going to win this game, they might have to score 40+ again, like in CIN.
  16. Edmunds, Edwards, and Sewell are all out for Sunday. Another entire position group gone. This is gonna be ugly. It is not like the D-Line can pick up the slack or the secondary can cover up the LB weaknesses. TEs and RBs are going to have a field day against Hyppolite and Practice Squad LB. Not good.
  17. There are way too many variables to account for to evenly compare two different games, even though that's what we do. Weather, injuries, officials, home/away, rest. You almost have to treat each week as if both teams are 0-0. Any Given Sunday is real.
  18. Any given Sunday is very true. We could be overlooked and under prepared for by our opponent. We could call and execute a perfect or flawed game. We could get breaks or get hosed by the officials. What we can control is our attitude. The right attitude, leads to better focus and intensity. Those traits lead to better practice and study habits. Repetition of those lead to consistent execution. We are seeing this at the end of games lately. The team is learning to win. I personally believe that the fold part is over. Don't get me wrong. We can still take an ass whooping, but we aren't gonna lie down for it anymore. Bear down!
  19. I don't think anyone is out there saying this Bears team is a finished product. It's just year 1 of this coaching staff and turnaround. I don't know any Bears fan that think we're a Superbowl contender. Everyone I talk to is just happy that we now have a roster that no longer quits in close games and that our offense keeps getting better each week. I'm still not accustomed to all the chunk plays we get each game but 3rd and 10-15 is no longer the death sentence it has been for many years.
  20. I saw a recent post earlier today that was on an NFC trash-talking site I visit occasionally. Someone posted the W/L record of every NFL team against teams with winning records. For the Bears they showed "0%" . Considering I find myself easily tricked by social media and AI I decided to take a look (with ironically some help from AI). Of the teams they've played so far: Even though the Bears currently face the second-hardest schedule in the NFL, they still haven't beaten a team thatโ€™s above .500. Pittsburgh will be the first real test to show how โ€œlegitโ€ this group is. As a lot of people have pointed out, theyโ€™ve managed to get this far despite a pile of injuriesโ€”especially on defenseโ€”so getting guys like Johnson and Gordon back will be huge. The big question is whether the team has actually made the offensive progress that many claim, or if theyโ€™ll fold once they start facing opponents who are truly gearing up for the playoffs. I ask that somewhat rhetorically, because last night Houston absolutely throttled Buffaloโ€”Allen got sacked eight times. It just reinforces that this season feels wide open, and as the old saying goes, โ€œAny Given Sunday.โ€
  21. LOL...I see what you did there. Unless...you mean to suggest they're trading their #1 pick?
  22. We have to rev up our offense and run the hell out of the ball to control the clock because our defense will be hurting with 3rd string LBers in there. its not going to be pretty but we still can win the game. I say 30 to 23 and of course we win.
  23. I always got the animosity towards me, after he went to name calling I pushed back but he seems to attack members for no reason at all but just to be an asshole. Your point was correct and he always twisted things I said to butt heads with me. I always tried to reason with him on our discussion but he always took it to fight mode. I always felt bad because 95% on here are always reasonable and still can have disagreements. He calls you out for no reason at all, I think he likes conflict and pushes conversations to that point. Mongo can be stirred up but he always goes back to reasonable conversation. It just comes down to name calling and he always went there first with me and then I got involved in calling him out in the same manner. I dont see his responses and he still pulls me into stuff and Im not even part of the conversation. He did commit 80% of the conflict and I am sorry I went there because you guys dont deserve the chaos it created.ย ย

Thanks. No apology needed. BTW, I banned him for a weekโ€”just a shot over the bow. Let's see what he does when he returns. I can and will increase the ban if needed.
