  1. Past hour
  2. If he just wants a Superbowl ring, he must not believe in his current coach or teammates. I have a hard time digesting that. To cut bait after year one of losing your coordinator sounds weak as hell to me.
  3. Today
  4. Yeah we don’t need 18mil for 5 sacks. I’d Decker wants and can get $25mil I’m out on him too. I also don’t trust the NFL rumor mill because media people are very simple minded and assume because he was making. 21 with Detroit and refused to negotiate that automatically means he wants more. We simply don’t know. He might just want a Super Bowl ring.
  5. It’s more than just that. It’s finding a guy who knows the calls both in pass pro and the run game because Ben likes to mix it up. Decker is ready week one. The first four weeks of last year were bad offensively. I’d love to hit the ground running right where we left off at the end of the year.
  6. He gave up 33 pressures last year but if we can get him for 10- mil, I'm in. LT is a premium position and people get overpaid all the time.
  7. Kahil Mack just got paid 18 mil for 1 year. Free agents are not going to be cheap. It may be just the draft unless someone like Cam Jordan wants to be here.
  8. I heard he's looking for 25mil...
  9. If there are several teams fighting over Tyler he's making a lot more than 15 mil. Competition always escalates contracts. With as many spots we have to fill, I don't think they're spending big at any position. Bradbury type moves. With several times talking to Byard, we could easily move on from him if he's offered 12+ , Cam Curl got 13 mil a year.

    Rumors

Jeff King is the new assistant GM and it just may be his opinion. He won't last long as AGM it he's leaking information. It just could be the league haven't decided yet and they will find out when the rest of us but they may think it's 60% a chance they do. I think she is one the local press that does ask good questions. My opinion
  11. Courtney Cronin's source is Jeff King. She's had exclusives from him before, and even attributed some to him. And I'm not saying Jeff is breaking rules, Im sure the Bears are good with it - most teams find a reporter that they can use when they need to put out disinformation before the draft, or spin on some negative publicity thing, and they "pay" for that by letting info out early to those same reporters in return. It means Courtney will sometimes have inside info, but it also means she wont be the one asking tough questions in the pressers either?

  13. I'd have jumped at paying $15M for Linderbaum, I thought he was probably too expensive at $22M. I mean, I like the player a lot, so I might have found a way to make it work, but I get that cap space is going to do good somewhere else.
  14. If the Bears can somehow get Decker at LT, Decker+Bradbury is better than Trapilo or Benedet or Jones + Dalman, so the line would be better in 2026 even if slightly worse at Center.

    Rumors

    that would be sweet
  16. As for the 3rd round compensation picks, that will be announced next week in the leagues new year if the Bears are getting them. Poles might know and it may have leaked to Cronin, but until the NFL announces it, it is speculation.
  17. Packers just traded for Franklin at LB, one of the worst in the league last year outside of tackle totals. The downgrade from Quay Walker to Franklin is huge. If they also lose Gary, there is no way their defense is as good as it was this year, especially considering their DC is now the HC in Miami.

  19. I was good with Biadasz at $10mil/yr but I think Bradbury at $5.7 is a better deal considering what else we can do with that cap space (i.e. FA LT). The sum of the Oline parts will be better. That’s still wishful thinking until we sign a LT.
  20. It's all about the Cap space. This isn't the same as past years, we don't have flexibility. Of course they could restructure several contracts but they will only do what they think they need to fill some holes. Like AB said, I think they next try to sign some of their own FAs. The deals on veterans won't be the first few days.
  21. McGovern resigned with the Bills for $13M AAV for 4 yrs making him the 3rd highest paid Center in the NFL. Linderbaum will probably get $15M+. That doesn't make sense for the Bears with losing Dalman so unexpectedly. Getting Bradbury for $5.7M is a great deal all things considered. Biadasz signed or $10M AAV.
  22. Seeing a Byard team friendly extension before FA would be the best news the Bears can do now. He may not be the best guy, but keeping some leadership continuity intact is important in my opinion. He can mentor the one or two additions the Bears will add from the draft.
  23. Rashad Gary officially available. Solid add on defense if they go after him. Draft interior in round 1 and than safety, lb and secondary.
  24. Odafe Owah is one more name to watch. Had real productive year after moving to Chargers. Prior year had 10 sacks. Former 1st rounder and still young (26).
  25. Some names we haven’t talked about, but that are younger: Jaelyn Phillips - 26 - First healthy year in a bit but with a regular offseason could see this guy ascending. Former first rounder who crushed it before being slowed by injuries. Still has some prime years left. Kenneth Walker / Etienne - If poles wants to go younger either of these guys fit the bill. Given Month deal, you should be able to move Swifty. Etienne isn’t much younger. Bryan Cook / Koby Bryant - Top safetys on market entering is his prime. Joseph Ossai - sack numbers not there but ascending. Quite a few pressures.
  26. I wonder is they surprise us and sign a DB and than go dline in draft. I’m totally on board giving Hendrickson big money for 2 years presuming he gets a clean bill of health. Dude gets to the qb.
  27. I'm okay with Decker if he's cheap enough because they only need one year at the most from him . He gave up 33 pressures last year which is Braxton Jones territory but it is temporary. I trust BJ on his opinion.

    Rumors

You said the key word in sports, TRUST. BJ has to trust Caleb, Caleb has to trust his WRs and the lineman needs to know his their teammates will pick up something you had a misstep on.
