Wow!

We absolutely overpaid but this makes the team better. Poles is all in on this team and it should benefit us for multiple years.

Thanks to Mongo I’m officially a fan! This is awesome! Let’s do this! Edit: 2x first rounders! Yikes!!!

Simmons is 29, signed thru 2030. Currently the 3rd highest paid DT in the NFL.

One of the greatest plays in Bears history. They really need to have that in any documentaries about this team and how it started. The Bears might have one of the best media/PR teams, love the media the make like 1920 Football Drive, or Mic'd up.

I remember jumping up and down with you when my son and I watched that.

and also this: "Houston Texans quarterback Davis Mills completed a dramatic 28-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass to tight end Jordan Akins on 4th and 20 with 50 seconds remaining against the Indianapolis Colts on January 8, 2023"

If they didn't fire Eberflus, this never happens. Ben Johnson was the right person to bring Caleb along and hopefully the Bears to a championship. They both have a ways to go, we see them opportunities lost by small mistakes. They will get there

Things I’ve never seen in my life https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-qb-rankings-index-week-8-2026-nfl-season

He’s a stud. Grady is a good player, used to be very good, but he’s always been more hustle than physical talent. the only reason Simmons isn’t more of a household name is because of the team he’s on. He is the kind of centerpiece you build a defense around.

Fair enough . It appears now I’m slurring my typing…or just fat fingered on this dang phone. I’ll go with the latter. Isn’t Simmons a higher priced talent similar to Crosby? Interestingly enough I looked to compare them and didn’t realize they were from the same draft class but also this year Simmons leads on sacks 4/2 and total tackles 34/14. Impressive for an interior vs edge guy.

I'm thinking you are referring to Jarrett? If so, I'll answer accordingly. Simmons is a top shelf talent. He's taller, heavier, stronger, quicker, younger and more productive than Jarrett. He requires a double team on the inside. Jarrett never truly has. Watch some tape on Simmons. He's an absolute monster.

Because I’m less schooled on interior DLmen, how is Simmons a huge upgrade over Garrett? Age and length? Garrett was sold to us as a solution to the interior a couple of seasons ago but not so much anymore. And I’m aware a similar argument could be made for Mack vs Sweat.

Zavior Scott RB/ST has earned a spot on the 53 man with contract. Nick McCloud DB was released to make room. I have not seen if they signed anyone else to the practice squad or will see if McCloud takes his spot tomorrow

He requested the 49ers, nothing the Bears could do there. The Bears need to get Mack now. The DLine needs that energy. Mack with Sweat, with Booker rotating in is a pretty solid trio.

Buckner’s out.

Monongai did not practice today.

... The guys that filled in for Sweat in our 2 game win streak. Simmons makes them all better...

He could be the difference-maker for the Bears. With him platooning with Swift, I am thinking the Bears win. Without him, I hate to say it, but I think we fall short but keep it close.

I was curious too and found this most recent article from SI. In short it speculates he could be back. Last week was his third week missed and had he needed to be out longer he’d have been out on IR and required to miss four weeks at a minimum. I suspect because of the extra days between games the team won’t be required to report injuries as soon? With extra time to recuperate, here’s to hoping he’s back. They’ll need all the help they can get. Chicago Bears On SIWill Kyle Monangai Return in Week 8? Latest Injury Update...Here's what we know about the possibility of Kyle Monangai returning for the Chicago Bears' Week 8 game.

Question now is, if sweat were to leave, who are the ends? Booker and??

Charbonnet is also off IR and on the active roster. He was held out last week but might return this week. Any news on Monangai's return?

Id take Simmons, you know we will use a 1st or 2nd on DT and they are an unknown at the pro level.

Just heard that and came here to see if it was reported. Damn, he is an upgrade to their run game and Jadarian Price's practice window has opened and could be activated.
