The Kyler Gordon revival tour continued today now with national press coverage compliments of Ian Rappoport. Why Rappoport is carrying water for Gordon is an unknown other than he wants access to that doctor. Windy City GridironKyler Gordon Injury Update: He ‘should’ be back with the...While the Bears didn’t address the Kyler Gordon situation, we still got an update on Chicago’s nickelback. Details here from @wiltfongjr.“Bears standout CB Kyler Gordon, who is on IR with a calf injury, is away from the team working with his own trainer to accelerate recovery, sources say,” Rapoport shared on social media. “The plan is for Gordon to return a few weeks into the season and begin practicing shortly thereafter. Some optimism here.” He had a follow-up post saying, “This has been a challenging recovery, and sometimes players work best honing in with their own people. That seems to be the case here. Barring a setback, Gordon should be back sooner rather than later.”
  3. If I were a betting man I'd take that. First un-official depth chart released by the Bears. Whatever un-official means there's not much to note here that is surprising. Cam Lewis is listed as first team NCB. We'll see how long that holds up. Jonathan Hardy is listed as 2nd team Dline with Kromah on 3rd team. I felt that would be the other way around but maybe they are making Kromah earn it on special teams. Kentavious Street replaced Dexter and Dayo is still listed as first team. Only 2 first team LBs listed with Edwards and Bush. Backups are Sanborn and D'Marco Jackson. Other oddity is that we have 2 First String TEs in Loveland and Kmet.

  5. Damn, your team did pretty good, Bijan, London, WIlson, Bowers, Tet, and Loveland is going to win you a lot of games.

  7. I think as far as injures on the offense side of the ball we are in good shape. Defense we will have to see how no Gordon or Bryant will translate the overall performance of the team. I think the DL is in better shape than it looks like on paper going in. LBs will be good but the depth on the DBs will have to step up. The Panthers were not good at run defense last year so Swift should have a big game.
  8. Adam, yesterday I was playing several mock drafts and then 1/2 hour before the draft, I couldnt sign into the draft. Not sure what the problem was , so my team may look a little odd. Sure wasnt what I was going to do. My RB sucks for a #2 but the other rooms are okay.
  9. Dont pay attention to that , they use their rating to determine those graded.

I think Caleb is going to lead us to more than 1

Well said. We need to go win another superbowl so the remaining 85 Bears can celebrate with us.
  13. Rome will play because he’s healthy enough to play not because he’s afraid of losing his job. Coaches screwed up last year letting him play through the broken foot injury. We had no depth to speak of and Burden was still working his way back from his injury. Therefore we already know Rome is tough and will play through injury. With the depth we have this year and against Carolina if he needs another week give it to him. The division game against Minn is more important.
  14. Very true, with Raymond, Thomas, and Walker plus Loveland, Kmet, and Roush, there are a lot of mouths to feed. Raymond was buried on the depth chart, but when given the chance, he answered the bell. 80% Catch Rate and +0.54 EPA/Target last year would've been the best on the Bears, right ahead of Burden 78.3% and +0.46 EPA/T. Loveland at 70.7% and +0.55 EPA/T. Compare that to Odunze at 48.9% and +0.15 EPA/T. Moore had a slightly better Catch Rate than Odunze, but the lowest EPA/T out of the starting group 58.8% and +0.10. OZ was 60% and a terrible -0.12 EPA/T. So if Moore's and OZ's targets go to Burden, Loveland, and Raymond, the efficiency of the offense is going to go thru the roof. Not including Thomas or Roush.
  15. I think he will be there, but not as worried with the WR/TE depth. Why I think he will be there...he needs to establish himself as a staple in this offense or he can quickly become an afterthought with the talent eager to take his targets.
  16. Well, according to Yahoo, I got a D- for my draft, and they really tore into every decision I made. They predict I am a bottom-feeder in this year's standings. Oh well, I drafted to have fun. If I win, it will be nice, but damn it, I would rather root for Burden or Odunze to score big in FF than root for players from division foes or play for teams we play this year in the real world. So I allowed for team bias. Yahoo experts suck! ;-) I honestly think Loveland, Burden, and Odunze will all three reach 1000 yds receiving this year. The Bears are going to rock!
  17. Last week

  18. Monangai returned today, I was ahead of schedule last time i mentioned it. Feel better having Swift and Monangai over Roschon to get the season rolling
  19. The regular season is upon us with games starting on Wednesday. So we get a few games before the Bears play. Hoping for good news later in the week on the injury front. The Bears need to handle business this weekend. CAR has no business being in this game. Last year they failed to score 20 pts in 10 out of 17 games. 6 out of 8 wins were by 3 pts, and 6 of 9 losses were by 10 or more. They were either getting beat bad or barely winning. That is a recipe for disaster. If the Division wasn't so bad, they would've been a 5-6 win team. Even with injuries, I think the Bears win handily 27-16.
  20. Dennis Allen likes bigger DEs that can win strength wise on the edge. They need long arms, around 6'5 and 270#. He wants that over their ability to get to the QB. Finding that player is like finding Caleb, its a unicorn. I hope they find one next draft.

Matt Suhey passed away today. He was 68 years old. RIP He was one of my favorites. Sad to hear he is no longer with us.

Madden played the Bears- Panthers game today and it is all in on the Bears. 51-10 Swift rushes for 201 Bryant and Dexter had big games on defense.
