  4. Thanks kind sir. To Stingers point, I really wanted to make a Packers game but they were too late in the season and wife doesn’t do well at all in cold (ironic I know). Gonna try and make a Packers / Bears game at Lambeau with some neighbor friends after this year.
  5. I wish I had your inside info lol

I know the feeling, I had season tickets for 2 yrs and it was a chore going to cold games. Nice weather wasnt a problem for me.
  7. I was uncertain about the pay taxed place where it goes. I am not sure, but if I worked in Wisconsin but lived in Illinois, it is taxed in WI. That sound right. IF the Bear's moved to Anchorage, I would still be a fan. Many Bear fans on here live other places and it didnt change for them. With modern technology, I never miss a game in Thailand for 5 months, being in the same area has a slight advantage but not a deal killer.
  8. And a team leader. BJ was a TE coach before he became an OC and he loves complete TEs. He drafted one after having 2 in the building. The premise that Roush was drafted to replace Kmet is fictional. Eventual that will happen but not this year and I would assume they renegotiate Kmet's contract to make it a more favorable cap space deal. IMO
  9. well his level of play got a LOT better this past season. hes played himself into a role. I still think this is probably his last year with the Bears, given the Roush pick. But we all discussed his progress all during the year last season.
  10. Heck, I remember that he was a prime trade candidate last year and definitely getting cut this year. He's still a captain and most importantly, still here.
  11. They did not. Someone made a fake X with Schefter saying Carolina is trading for Kmet June 1.
  12. Illinois income tax is 2 percent higher than Indiana. The sales tax in Cook county is 3.5 percent higher than the Indy Metro area. Property taxes and housing are ridiculously higher in Illinois. Jurko lives in Indiana and is constantly saying he prefers the "more house, less money" lifestyle of Indiana. That's coming from a native Chicagoan. Game checks are taxed in the state the stadium is in. I'm not sure about signing bonuses.

I think the main reason BJ was aggressive is because he thought he needed to do that to win with an inconsistent offense last year. This year will not look like last year, he is learning what he can and cant do.
  14. I missed where we traded Kmet? BJ is a maniac and he attracts players with his mentality . He will not let this game get away from him no matter who it is or where its at. Panthers is a winnable game and expect us to win. I know BJ isnt worried about it, why should any fans?
  15. Im a Bear's fan, I dont care about Illinois enough to require that in front of the name. I like tradition but the tradition doesnt lose its history because they move. When I watch video of Dick Butkus play, it isnt presented to me as Indiana. I would prefer they go to AH because its an hour away from me but from a technical view, the Indiana site is 40 minutes from where they play now. Living in Illinois and how poorly its run doesnt unconditional get my loyalty . No state taxes and warm weather is an advantage over player movement but being a Bear gets you lots of endorsements you may not have somewhere else. A enclosed stadium will do more for getting some players, so do whatever it takes to get the new stadium.
  16. LOL good point I think it's hard to have a trap game when its opening day. And especially with a coach like Johnson. He started 0-2 last year, and Im SURE he is thinking he doesnt want to repeat that! OK Im starting to get excited for the season.
  17. If you play in Indiana, but live in Chicago, I wonder what the tax ramifications would be. On the surface it would seem like since they have to pay state tax to the states their away games are in, that theyd pay Indiana tax. But some of these cities, like NYC can want their taste if you reside there as your main residence. What a freakin mess, and I will leave it here because the next points would probably be political, and best to avoid that.

Some of BJs aggressiveness on 4th down was because he didnt trust his defense. And some of the tricky passing nonsense on 4th and short will be a run this year out of 13 I think the roster was a big part of why he did those things.
  19. Lower tax rates are attractive to people making millions of dollars. Same for the people making far less. Now I have no clue about Indiana taxes but I know what my daughter has to pay in Chicago. That’s a lot more than Arizona. Wasn’t there a baseball player who refused to sign with a California team and took a lesser contract in another state but would have more net income.
  20. I dont know if it will help attract FAs or the cap because thats completely separate. Each team has to meet the cap limits (min/max). Now coaching, facilities, and other expenses to operate it could affect.

Enjoy Grizz! I personally hate Soldier Field, but have had some great experiences there.
  22. This is countdown week, as the Illinois Senate will adjourn for the year. Illinois has yet to meet the Bears needs, while Indiana has exceeded them. McCaskey and Warren have met with Governor Braun and his staff several times in the last few weeks and have become quite friendly. According to my buddy at the Indiana Statehouse, the Bears are coming here because Illinois can't cut the mustard. I understand the Illinois bias from fans, but Indiana isn't a bad option. Taxes alone will help the Bears attract free agents and help maximize our cap.

  24. I hope you’re right. Wife decided after never seeing a live bears game at Soldier field she insisted we go to one before they move. This is the one we’ll be seeing. To say I’m stoked would be an understatement!
  25. After we trade Kmet to the Panthers, it will be a revenge game too.
  26. Trap game because the Bears always had to win games by miracle plays last year and that should give them confidence in miracles always happening? I’m not buying that. Knowing you can do that in any game gives you confidence. Knowing you have to do it in every game does not.
  27. They (the 2 authors of the article) were suggesting it would be a 'trap game.' If we lose a game this year because the players thought they could take a game off and win, I would be all ugly on BJ and his staff. BJ should have these guys fired up. Trap games are, IMO, the fault of the HC & staff for failing to sense their team's mood and motivate them. I'd be totally disappointed if the players don't show everyone we deserve their respect.
  28. As much as we have a better roster, Carolina at home will not be an easy game. They have a weakness with the run defense and we have to exploit that.
