I don't think Rome has had a bad season at all. There have been a few bad drops, and some missed throws from Caleb, but he's 9th in the NFL in receptions over 20 yards and 15th in 1st down receptions. That's not a bad place to be for a 2nd year receiver in a new offense. There were a lot of growing pains with the offense in the first 4-5 weeks and there still are things to work out. His big play ability is something defenses must account for.

Odunze's absence should matter more than it does. He hasn't had a good year. Ironically, they may miss him more in the run game than pass game. Either way, not ideal. Moore and Burden have to step up. It's an injury that's probably not going to go away until the off-season. I suspect we won't see him until the rematch a couple weeks from now. Same with Stevenson. Edmunds comes off IR by then, too. That might be the game when they get all their horses back for the playoff run. Fingers crossed everyone can stay healthy until then.

Detroit should have lost that game last night. I despise both Dallas and Detroit. However, I think Dallas got hosed by the Refs (maybe the refs mistook them for Bears?) when they allowed Detroit to get away with two blatant DPIs with no calls. It would have totally changed the outcome of the game. NFL officiating has become a joke. If they want to "improve the game experience" for fans, it is obvious where they need to make significant improvements.

Branch is the joker in that defense and that's going to be a big loss in their secondary.
-
Injuries piling up around the league for teams the Bears still have to play. While Bears are finally getting healthier. Wyatt and Kraft gone for GB Maliek Collins, productive DT on IR for CLE Branch just lost for the season in DET, hurt last night. Probably a top 5 Safety in the NFL. Bosa and Warner aer both out for the year for SF. Not the same defense as in previous years.

After a dominant game, all the OL deserve recognition. I was impressed with Dalman handling Jordan Davis on several occasions by himself. I've been watching some Packer fan content and they don't think the bears can handle their DLine. Eagles clearly have a better DL than the Packers do. BJ will scheme a successful attack against a good Packers D. Here's a nice shorter than predicted we would be 8-4 at this time before the Philly game.

Say what.... I've never heard or seen this metric before. No clue how they grade players but regardless, I'm shocked to see our rookie on the list in just his 2nd game as a starter at LT against the Eagles. I hope one of y'all put money down on that bet having any NFL week with 2 Bears OTs ranked in the top 7.

If you want to see how diabolical Ben Johnson is, this is my absolute favorite film breakdown of the year. Now it's crystal clear why his offense is so complex in all the options he wants to present to a defense, yet simple when you see the actual play run, and finally why he demands so much precision from his offensive players. To put all of that together with the timing for the various motions, snap timing, option routes, option blocks (shown in the Oline Committee video), etc. is why it's taken this team so many weeks to get to this point and we still have room to grow.

I still think he could have had the Arizona Cardinals job but the sticking point was Kyler Murray. I don't think he wanted to commit to Murray who the owner's had just given a big extension. There is no way to ever know but seeing Murray get benched and about to move on to his future as a bridge QB for QB-desperate teams I'd like to know what the Bidwill's are thinking now. If that were true, would you come back to the former GM candidate who was correct in his QB assessment?

Thank you, that was a great video. The offense is an orchestra and Ben Johnson is the master conductor. Watching players be where they need blocking, faking a route then blocking down field where the RB ends up. This scheme caught one of the best D Coordinators off guard and made his D look foolish. It might take the league some catching up.

That's crazy, I can't believe they won any games with that line.

We are now seeing the accumulation of the players Poles brought in and their talent. Like Jason and Mongo have always preached, build the team inside out. Since Jim Finks assembled the 85 team I have always wanted it that way. Poles did it a strange way but its hard to say it's not working now. Considering our history it's been hard for a lot of Bear fans to buy in but Black Friday happened that woke up everybody that wasn't onboard already. Hard to imagine how much better we can get with players coming off injuries and Caleb hitting his stride.

The national media notices us now.

The cat is out of the bag. I always watch several film breakdowns each week. This week there are so many Bears film breakdowns it is insane. Iβm not even talking about the short take stuff from big media orgs which I find to be mostly useless blather. These guys are just fun to listen to and they catch some small details that I donβt ever hear in the usual play breakdowns reviews

and i am guessing this is why Trapilo didnt start at LT out of the gate. He wasn't findng the right guy to block enough. Now, with half a season of coaching under his belt, hopefully he has enough to win the job and keep it, and keep growing too. Benedet is a really good swing tackle - he is borderline starter material himself.

They finally have talented players and coaches that know how to exploit a D. I heard a former player say the Bears run multiple blocking concepts which is difficult for our players to understand their assignments. Maybe why the slow start. Wide and inside zone, 12 man, 13 man, play-action, counters, all leaving the Defense clueless on whats coming. Lets say Caleb is about 50% there on his potential scale, next year he will be closer to 100%. He gets his feet right and his accuracy will improve.

I have a feeling Cunningham might want to stick around one more year. Unless of course his dream team/job calls. He may not be getting jobs because he prices himself high to not be hired by Jacksonville.
-
It's hard to believe a team hasn't hired him for an open GM position. I have no idea how many GMs will be fired after the season ends, but I have to agree with you, Cunningham will be gone. He deserves a shot as the top dog.
-
One thing I like about this topic is that this will be the first true Johnson off season. The reason I say this is because BJ now knows who his go-to guys are. We may have some shocking moves that we didn't see coming. Of course DA will have strong input as well. Lastly, I'm predicting Cunningham will finally get his GM job.

Wouldn't it be interesting if we had a NE - Chicago SB. I thought the Rams were the best team in the league until they lost to Carolina. Now I'm not sure.
