  1. Past hour
  2. I think the CB room is pretty full with Cam Lewis coming in board. The forgotten Terrell Smith will be back and a healthy Gordon and JJ. They had the chance to resign Wright and decided not to so they must like Lewis.
  3. BJ likes him and he had 43 receptions one year under Ben. Free agents have a tendency to be paid more each year. Lots of contracts say that. With Walker and Raymond the WR room is almost done. I expect a draft pick added.
  4. We need bodies so these signings are popping up that may not make the final roster. Lewis was signed for 2 years and will take the Gardner- Johnson role of playing several positions.
  5. Honestly the Pro Bowl selections are more of a popularity contest than they are on pure talent. Ergo: a player like Nashon Wright had one decent year (out of six) because he made a splash that one year. Good for him on capitalizing on that but will he be HOF caliber going forward? Probably not. Retrospectively there is something to be said if Allen (and Al Harris) are the ones to get credit for that Pro Bowl performance. Good for us.
  6. Not very productive but has some speed which DA likes. Some of these depth pieces may not make the final roster.
  7. Greg Gabriel said he took a lot of snaps at NB. I think he replaces Gardner- Johnson on the roster. Can play several positions.
  8. Another solid depth piece, looks to fill the McCloud role (who was burnt way too much when he was on the field), so this may be bigger upgrade than face value.
  9. I saw a post about free agents, only 5% make the Pro Bowl on their new team. Free agency is mainly used to get quality starters, fill holes, and improve depth. Trades and drafting and developing are the ways to get your true blue chippers. Those guys rarely hit the market, they are resigned or traded.
  10. Seems like a lower-end depth piece. Played a year with DA in 2022 in NO, so there is some inside knowledge on what he brings.
  11. Seems just a little rich to me, but I’m sure Ben has a a plan for him. Wonder how much more Deebo goes for . . .
  12. Today
  13. Positives are what you listed, that he may replace both Wright and Owens and that he will work with Al Harris. Negatives are that he doesn’t ’fit the mold that Harris and Allen like’ and that he’s not been selected to a Pro Bowl (like Wright was)….for whatever that’s worth.
  14. Looks like a solid depth addition to replace Wright. Plays CB, S, and Nickle
  15. Say what? Haha, yes he had a rough start but made the most of it. 5.5 million can go a long ways so happy he made some money
  16. ha! I didnt think of it that way, but youre right.
  17. Correct. Very frustrating when you know a defensive series only ends one of two ways: they score or we get a turnover.
  18. Yep - perfectly good with this move. Same with CJGJ - no desire to bring him back either. Both were very flawed players, but I do appreciate the big plays Wright made. Also - just seeing the deal he got, shows you the league saw the same thing on tape. I do wish Wright all the best though.
  19. I think the Bears saw what we saw - a bunch of interceptions, but a lot of blown coverages too.
  20. Nashon Wright signed a deal with NYJ. 1 yr, 5.5 million. Bears could have afforded him.
  21. Turner 3T, Dayo DE. Just clarifying...
  22. I'll put it this way - they lost Moore, Oz, and Duvernay - and only added Raymond. Jahdae Walker fills one of those spots - but there is still a major role to fill.
  23. I would not be happy if that is WR 3. He's a huge step down as a wideout. Production pretty low past 2 seasons. He's a solid 4/5. I think it comes down to, do they believe in Jahdae Walker as the #3 or we see them use a pick or make another vet signing here as the money starts to dry up and some solid vets are still sitting without preferred destinations.
  24. Good returner, but very dangerous as a slot WR. Speedy, good hands... I think he is probably WR3
  25. We say he likes speed - for the record Edmunds is quite fast and similar age. This is a solid move but It is far more of a lateral move. Reality is right now they have kind of treaded water at LB corps, but slightly more cost effective, while doing the same at safety - but certainly got younger and quicker at safety position. I'd argue DT is a bit better too as the new guy has a bit more burst. Offense is worse overall - our new center is not as good as Dalman, and no Moore replacement (not that it was expected - we need to see our existing talent step up) and they are replacing his funds / pick to go to defense. It comes down to - can we execute in the draft - I think they can and certainly hope they can. I'm glad they are where they are - I don't think they made any bozo moves and overall given what room they had I think they've done a solid job. They do need to address the secondary though - even with Gordon/JJ/Smith coming back, I think it would be nice to add a bit more there (or bring back Brisker on a 1yr deal). Defensive line I expect to be addressed via the draft.
