  1. Past hour
  2. Braxton and Kmet both out this week.
  3. If you watch the tape, it is not as bad as it was made out to be on the broadcast. There was a lot of immediate pressure, and the Saints actually had one thing working, pressure+coverage. They were daring the Bears to run the ball. I will be more concerned if it is a trend and doesn't improve in the next few weeks.
  4. The crazy part about the previous Bears QB discussion is that I feel Trubisky deserves another shot at starting before Fields.
  5. Today
  6. This game is really hard to call. Baltimore has more urgency and is at home. No Lamar is huge but the effort and physically will be there. So can we out physical the Ravens? If we run the ball and can limit Henry we will win the game. As we have seen most games this year seem to go down to the wire and I think this will to. 28-23 Bears.
  7. Statement was made before he got put on IR. Do you think this is Braxton giving the finger to the Bears for benching him? I dont remember any injuries mentioned when Theo got put at LT. The one thing I think this coaching is doing that wasnt here before is developing players. Theo, Dom Robinson, Sewell, DuShon Wright all seem to be contributing.
  8. Benedet handles the bull rush better than Jones did what I expect is because he is stronger. He got walked back several times but if Caleb got rid of the ball quicker it never matters. He went from a UDFA to starter so I think he is growing into the position as he gains more experience. There was only one sack in that game so the general pressure is getting better. Someone has to play LT and of our choices they think Theo has the most potential. OLs always look better once their QBs make quicker decisions, throw to their dump down targets, and show more accuracy in the short throwing game. Our growth in the passing game is focused on Caleb getting better. Does anyone else notice Caleb gets a lot of passes knocked down at the line? Is that a vision problem, or timing problem? That is the only think about his growth that bothers me. The rest are all fixable.
  9. Seen Gordan went on IR and out at least 4 games, haven't researched that report so might be false. So frustrating with these injuries.
  10. Yeah, Im not down on him - hes young and just learning. if he makes mistakes, its not the same as if its a vet who has been making the same mistakes for years. But, Benedet had a couple penalties and gave up pressures that were part of the reason Caleb was holding the ball and running around last week. So Im just calling balls and strikes - but Im impressed with him, and expect him to continue to grow, so not calling for him to be benched or anything like that at all.
  11. Likely means nobody wants him. Poles needs the roster spot.
  12. Benedet does not get beat early and while he got walked backwards a few times there are some technique issues with his feet that, if he corrects it, he’ll be good. I suspect that will require a full offseason to fix. Plus he’s sticky to the pass rusher.
  13. Yesterday
  14. watching the film, Caleb wasnt as bad as I thought after watching the game. The Saints called zone blitzes a few times and Caleb didnt throw the manufactured pick, but he ran around after that, and people were covered. Also, Benedet got blown up on several pass protections and that accounted for the other plays where Caleb was running. In terms of the zone blitzes, thats on Caleb AND Johnson, because they got beat "rock paper scissors" style, because the hot read was taken by the dropping linemen. They all need to learn and adjust to these tactics and situations. This wasnt as easy as "Caleb had trouble with the 27th ranked defense" it was more a matter of how the play calls lined up, and what to do when its a zone blitz and your hot read is taken. They will adjust Im sure.
  15. Williams had 172 yards passing, 0 TDs, and 1 INT (61.7 rating) against the Saints 27th ranked pass defense last week. Fortunately right now the Ravens are ranked 31st against the pass .
  16. If we can put pressure on Huntley, even with our CBs being nothing better than street FAs, we should still wind up with a pick or two. This is the time for two players, who I understand will be making rare appearances this week, Booker and Jarrett, to contribute. On the offense, we will need both the run and pass to work—no more excuses. Caleb needs to step up and help win this one. If he has another game like week 7 against Baltimore, we will probably lose.
  17. He is also doing it with a banged up secondary. The Bears are starting CB5/6 with Johnson, Stevenson, Gordon, Smith, and Frazier out.
  18. The Lamar news is huge. Huntley had 68 yards passing in his last start. The Bears have to win this.
  19. Hard to trade a guy that's on IR.
  20. I don't know if I'd compare him to Davis. When you injure a hamstring, your body becomes out of tune from foot to neck. Sometimes another injury will pop up. In his case and it's a groin. Same thing happened with Johnson, as his injury was different than the one he initially missed camp with. Davis simply didn't want to play. Gordon seems to genuinely play with joy.
  21. Kyler Gordon and Braxton Jones just put on IR, lol. Gordon is just stealing money right now. He got paid and decided to go full Nate Davis on the Bears. His body is made of glass. A trade for secondary help seems like a priority at the moment, especially if they win tomorrow.
  22. It won't be that much. Houston received a 2027 6th for Cam Robinson and a 2027 7th. They will get something along those lines in my opinion.
  23. A trip back in time when Tyler Hundley last played the Bears. November 2021. Hundley was informed, as he boarded the bus to the game, that he’d be starting in place of an ill Jackson. Bears HC was Nagy. Bears starting QB was Andy Dalton while rookie Justin Fields watched from the bench.

  25. Braxton Jones is the most likely to be traded with LT starting experience . They have clearly moved on but if they still have doubts with Theo, they may keep him for depth. Probably a 4th or 5th round pick. Is that worth losing valuable depth? I doubt they trade anyone.
  26. He is not playing , I watched several Doctors comment on his injury and said it was to early to come back. Full practice but run the Scout team tells you everything you need to know. With Hundley being the QB that helps us with aninjury plagued DB room. Henry is what we have to stop to win the game. Its the power run game up the middle that matters. He is not as effect if he has to go laterally to find a hole. Our LBs, and Ss are intact so we have a shot at limiting him to under a hundred yards by plugging every middle lanes. Effective tackling is important. The passes will be all in the front zone with the short passing game.
  27. Yeah, it sounds like he's not going to play now, according to Rapaport. I did kind of think after being limited on Wed/Thu, that they may have been ramping him up for next week's game against the Dolphins. Dan Graziano alluded to this earlier in the week. Friday's are always lighter red zone days for most teams, so the fact he was a full participant isn't as meaningful as it is on Wed/Thu—and also, now that we know he was running scout team is even more of an indicator that this is more gamesmanship from the Ravens. I suspect they won't officially rule him out until 1.5 hours before kickoff, as they have no incentive to do so, but if he is out, that would be huge for the Bears, who really could use a break, given the injuries to the secondary.
  28. Interesting. Could that mean he isn't going to start on Sunday?
