  1. Past hour
  2. Courtney Cronin said he was competing for a starting position a couple of hours ago. RE: Hippolyte
  3. Today
  4. I think Hyppolite is probably a practice squad guy at first. I agree on Amagadje. I do think that the bottom few spots might be filled by camp cuts from other teams Youre probably right about the 2nd string safeties too, but i kind of feel like there might be more shakeup there than we are expecting.
  5. I agree, and they already picked up another back in Brittain, plus we will pick up some people that are cut by other teams after cut down day too, so the bottom few positions on the 53 are not set
  6. I think Hyppolite, Ogbongbemiga, Hicks and Owens are all but locks. Then probably Frazier and Homer. Ogbongbemiga and Hicks are core special teamers, as is Owens and Hicks. I think the last OL, DL, and WR will probably be the toss ups with Amegadje, Pickens/Ford as the leaders. Poles mentioned Jahdae Walker by name which was surprising to me in regards to camp standouts.
  7. Just seen where Brian Robinson Jr just got traded to the 49ers for a 6th round pick. I would say the Bears arent worried about the injuries to RJ and Monangai.
  8. I think they only keep 5 WRs because of the ability to move Loveland to the outside and running a lot of 12 personal. Kiran will be on the roster, I dont think they expose him to waivers. Ruben and Amen will be last 2 LBers. Blackwell hasnt practiced for a few weeks, so I think Nick McCloud could slide in there. The majority of final roster spots will be controlled by who is healthy.
  9. The problem is you cant suggest it in a box. First there is a cost? That in itself would be a determinant that is now trying to build this team with the draft. Trading 2 to 3 assets rocks that boat. Second the cost of the contract he clearly wont play unless he gets it. 40+ mil. They already addressed the position with Dayo and expecting Booker to take a step forward. Those are questions I think they answer before they say (we have a problem) They think they have a high end DE in Sweat that is getting paid a lot of money. They are not viewing last year as his standard, they look to his 12.5 sacks as his norm. We now have an aggressive D coach that will increase our total by scheme.
  10. Well if they offered him for free, and he was willing to play for the league minimum, I assume everyone would be 100% on board. So the issue isnt whether hes a good player (hes an incredible player) but what the price would be. So I dont understand everyone rejecting it out of hand - at some price it'd be good, and at another price it'd be fair, and at another price it would be too much. If we had to give a 2nd round pick and he was willing to play for $25M a year, we'd do it in a heartbeat. If they wanted Cole Kmet straight up for him, and he would cost the same as Kmet, then its a no brainer as well. So I think its a little lazy of everyone to just say "no" without wondering what the highest price would be that it would still be a good idea? I agree it probably wont happen so if no one wants to play the game, that's fine, but its a good question, not an easy one. And you can bet Ryan Poles is exploring it too and asking himself the same thing right now.
  11. Didn’t read any replies. Bad idea. No thanks.
  12. Ok, so here's my swing at a 53 man roster right now. The ??????? slots will be filled either by guys currently on the roster (in parenthesis) or by grabbing someone else's cast off. All this assuming no trades that take guys from our roster too. So lets talk - did I put anyone on that isnt gonna make the 53? Are any of the guys in parenthesis locks? Closest I see to that is Amagadje, but I left that one open in case anyone wants to promote someone else. 2025 Bears 53 Man Roster QB (2) Caleb WIlliams Tyson Bagent RB (4) D'Andre Swift Kyle Monongai Roschon Johnson ??????? 13. too bad, but i guess in-game is preferred for the last preseason game. At least we get to see it for ourselves against 1st stringers.
  14. Micah Parsons scrubbed his social media of all mention of the Cowboys today. Having both available in this late market will drive the price of each down.
  15. Yesterday
  16. Did we have a scrimmage with the Chiefs yesterday? I havent seen anything about it so i assume we didnt but i wonder why.
  17. I know he got dinged up a little, but if Austin Booker is half as effective as he has been in the preseason, the pass rush rotation is going to be really solid.

    Bagent Extension

I hope he sticks around, but the contract now makes him more appealing to other teams because he is locked in at the lower price for a few years. Kind of wild that Trubisky hasn't gotten another chance to start, but teams like New Orleans are ok going with Shough, Haener, and Rattler?
  19. I set the league draft for 7pm on Sunday, August 31st. We will need to identify keepers by the 30th.
  20. From what I've read, he's taking reps at guard for depth.
  21. I think a lot of us wanted him at center.
  22. This is a great move and really happy for Bagent and it’s a smart move by Bagent too. He knows Johnson is legit and if at some point he plays and excels - all of a sudden he’s getting traded for to start all while learning and working with a good coaching staff while securing some real earnings over next few years. And for Bears - they basically have locked in a lot of cap flexibility to be spent on other positions over the next 2 years.
  23. You also have to pay him 35M. If he was 3 year younger - yes - but at his age with the Bears where they are at - not interested.
  24. AZ54

    Bagent Extension

    Typical practice squad QB.
  25. does anyone remember Jackson Powers-Johnson, a 2nd round C from Oregon? The Raiders has moved him to compete at RG, he is being beat out by an UNFA Jordon Meredith . I actually wanted us to take him.
