Bears | Will listen to offers for Olsen Comment (0) Fri, 19 Mar 2010 07:51:10 -0700 Updating previous reports, Neil Hayes, of Chicago Sun-Times, reports the Chicago Bears will listen to offers for TE Greg Olsen even though general manager Jerry Angelo has insisted he is not shopping Olsen. My question is if you are not going to trade him why listen? Sounds like a smokescreen to me. Bears | Could have interest in Grant Comment (0) Fri, 19 Mar 2010 07:47:36 -0700 Neil Hayes, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports the Chicago Bears could have interest in unrestricted free-agent FS Deon Grant (Seahawks). Deon Grant is this worth a lo…

Due to the fact that my Bears season ticket $ and the ton of $ I owe for taxes this year are due at about the same time, I am going to be unable to afford my Bears tickets. That being said I don't really want to lose them. So, I would like to sell them for this year. I have 3 tickets. The grand total is $2,048 for 3 tickets to 10 games (2 preseason games). I usually sell the preseason games and never have a problem unloading them. Email me @ jesse2033@gmail.com for further information including seat location and payment details. I would rather sell them to somebody on here who would enjoy them as opposed to someone who is just going to scalp them.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ Overtime proposal passes Posted by Michael David Smith on March 23, 2010 3:22 PM ET The National Football League owners have approved a change in overtime, starting with the playoffs following the 2010 season, that will modify the sudden-death format and prevent a team from winning a game with a field goal on the opening possession. The vote was 28-4, with the Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals voting against. It needed at least 24 votes to pass. "It was really a good discussion in the sense that there's been a lot of debate, both publicly and privately, ove…

  7. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...arter/#comments Lovie Smith says Matt Forte will be the starter Posted by Mike Florio on March 24, 2010 9:10 AM ET Bears running back Matt Forte will earn a base salary of $470,000 in 2010. Newcomer Chester Taylor will be paid $7 million as part of the three-year, $12.5 million contract. But coach Lovie Smith said at Wednesday's NFC coaches' breakfast that Forte will be the starter, per Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times. That said, Smith added that there will be "competition." Given the eventual contents of Taylor's W-2 form for the current year, that "competition" could be tilted in favor of the vete…

Our desire to get rid of Alex Brown was a suprirse. IMO this is purely money driven. I'm wondering if there's anybody else we're not thrilled with we'd consider dumping to save money. Here's a few that pop to mind: Olin Kreutz--His play has dropped off, he's getting old, and he's making good money. We've talked about Beekman could play. (although we'd need another guard) Devin Hester--He's making one helluva a lot of money to be a mediocre receive & mediocre punt-returner. He's a bad route runner which makes him a liability for Martz. He's been a bad return man for 2 consecutive years. Tommie Harris--He needs to look impressive during TC. The y…

Just saw Vasher is close to signing w/ SD. Could be interesting to see if, with the coaches he played well under if he does so again. Also, while we all knew Rivera was in SD, I have to admit I didn't realize Wilkes (DB) and Johnson (DL) coaches were also in place in SD.

Here's a pretty helpful article on Atogwe's contract situation. Basically, the guy thinks that nobody's making an offer for Atogwe because they don't want the Rams to match, and that teams figure St. Louis will have to let him hit UFA after June 1st (rather than pay him $7 million) so they're waiting until then to start pursuing him. The author also makes it sound like Atogwe's going to drag his feet until June 1st and force the Rams' hand. We'll see...

He has a fourth-round tender. At this point, a return to Seattle seems unlikely. Chicago is another team mulling Sims.

I have a fanatic Seahawks fan as a good friend, and he had this to say when I talked to him tonight: "The Offensive Line was the worst part of the team, and Sims couldn't even break into the starting lineup. He started a few games this year, but was bad when he was in the game." Further, nearly every draft site has OL as the primary need for the Seahawks...and, yet, they want to get rid of someone? This just doesn't pass the smell test.
