I know we already have a thread about QB's holding team workouts, but Cutler told Sean Jensen that individual workouts are about to start for the Bears. Also, Cutler tweeted "Headed back to Chicago." Here we go...

  2. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=team...ts-2011-nfl-chi Thought this article was really good. Big talking point is that Cutler was quoted as saying the offensive side of the ball will be working with each other shortly. Basically that something is planned but he didn't get into specifics. Also has a ton of quotes related to the draft. Pretty solid off-season summary article in general.

  3. Bears Defense Needs to Attend Workouts – For the Good of the Offense Sean Jensen at the Chicago Sun-Times recently interviewed Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and asked him about the workouts they were planning (http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/bears/5398418-419/jay-cutler-bears-offense-needs-to-get-together-despite-lockout.html). To the surprise of many, only the offensive players were planning to workout together: “Cutler said the workouts would be for offensive players only. “’I mean, those defenders have been in the system for eight years, nine years,’ Cutler said. ‘What are they gonna do? “’What am I going to tell Lach?’ Cutler said, referrin…

There are a couple of now-approved rules changes for the NFL next year, if that happens. There's also supposedly potential for loss of draft picks if a team is a repeat offender.

Seems like the NFL players union this board has taken a dump. I know there is not anything to write about, But it seems like everytime I come here nobody is even browsing. Oh well, my 2 cents for the moment.

  10. Apparently, since the Bears practice at Olivet Nazarine University, if the Lockout starts leading to a delay in the start of the season/end of training camp, the Bears may be forced to either break camp early or else find a fully new camp location. The Fall semester starts August 27th.

Closest thing to football news during the lockout? Football video game news! So apparently Madden 12 is going to have a new feature called Dynamic Player Performance: it's basically confidence/streakiness built into the game. A QB's confidence goes down if he gets sacked or picked off enough times, and he performs worse on subsequent throws. It goes up when he completes a few passes or throws a TD, and then he starts performing better. Same goes for every other position: some WRs play better if they get a lot of passes early on, etc. Specifically, they mentioned that Jay Cutler's player rating can go as low as 75 or as high as 90, depending on whether he's hot o…

  12. http://bearingthenews.com/?p=1565 Does Mike Martz Have Too Much Power? If So He’s Not Alone. The world is full of compromise. And no one apparently hates it any more than Timothy Miller of Endwell, N.Y. Tim is apparently convinced that offensive coordinator Mike Martz is ruining the Bears franchise. How else do you explain the fact that he emailed not one, but two NFL writers asking if Martz has cast a spell over the team that will lead to its ultimate demise. First, let’s see shat ESPN‘s NFC North blogger Kevin Seifert has to say (http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id/27117/nfc-north-weekend-mailbag-41): “Tim of Endwell, New York, writes: Do …

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...g-an-education/ I'm not 100% that Dungy is all that, but I certainly think that this is a very good move by Smith. They are trying to better themselves. Kudos for this.

Ok now that the man will be free today.....the question is do we make a run to sign him once the lockout is over? IMO I would try in a heartbeat. He will be a perfect fit for the bears passing game and someone cutler can throw to. I like our WR's , but I say this all the time...with the tallest being 6'0 they are just too small to do real damage. Burress will make and have mismatches all day with the 6'1 and under DB's in the game. This will be a great advantage for the Bears, even more so in the red zone where we really need the height. If not Burress then Floyd or Jackson from the Chargers will do
