If he's willing to take a backup position and knows his role I really wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him. I think if you surround him with some actual talent like we have here in Chicago he could end up being a solid QB. And with the Bears bringing back Jerrod Johnson, working out Boyd and Lynch, and then also last years talks of them running the pistol/read option plays, Pryor, at 6'6" with 4.32 speed he'd be a good fit to do just that. What says you?

This mock has the Bears going Donald, Joyner, McGill. That is 2 DBs and one DT in first 3. Ilike Donald and McGill but Joyner in RD 2 doesn't excite me.

So looking at the draft do we draft for needs or for BPA? Looking at our roster below we have a few needs. I say we need DT,LB CB,,FS and a SS. We still have roster cuts and FA...but we cant get them all in the draft.. I say we get either Donald or Pryor/Gilbert in rd1, DT Jones or FS Bucannon in rd2.3rd rd Bullough LB DE Allen= starter Houston=starter/DT Young=2nd team Izzy=2nd team/DT Bass Lane Robertson Scott Washington DT Collins Paea Ratliff LB Bostic=fighting to be starter with McClellan Briggs=starter Franklin=cut Greene=????? Anyone else think, despite the admitted need to focus on defense in the draft, we should nab a WR in the middle rounds? Certainly Marshall and Jeffery are great, but there's nothing but question marks behind him. At least with Earl Bennett, you knew what you were getting. Depth right now is: - Wilson, a thin and injury prone 2nd year 7th round pick with 2 career catches - Hixon, a journeyman who is at least two year removed from a year when he had any kind of impact as a WR - Weems, who had little impact as a WR and was already asked to take a paycut - Williams, a 5'8" return specialist - Bellamy and Tolliver, who have done nothing in this leage I real…

Anyone interested in doing a community Mock Draft? We did one a few years ago and it was pretty successful. We can each pick a few teams and start picking until the draft starts and go as far as we can go.

Lots of mocks have the Bears getting Donald or Jernigan in the first. Most of us are fine with that. But what if there is another guy there in the second. Maybe Hageman or Tuitt? Would you be fine with that? I think I would simultaneously dislike it while being excited about it. It's a definite gamble, but it's one of those gambles that has a decent chance of paying off. You could place bets in multiple places, but sometimes you just have to put your money in one place and let it ride.

This article is exactly what I see happening in the draft this year. As the article suggests, the more tap I watch on Donald the more I see him not handling the run in the NFL.Gilbert has all the tools but dont see having the savy to star in the league. As it states, I see us dropping down and either grabbing the players they mention or a S such as Ward or even a Bucannon. I doubt if Pryor will be there. http://nflmocks.com/2014/04/13/chicago-bea...back-nfl-draft/

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,1276907.story Looks like we will be having a new KR/PR since Hester signed with the Falcons. But do you think this Chris Williams can have a big impact in the return game as Hester did. This kid runs a 4.28 40 yard dash. The Bears must have big plans for him they paid him $100,000 last year to be on the practice squad

I think I've mentioned this in the past too. The NFL has really screwed up. Making this a prime time event may draw them extra cash but I seriously doubt it's made their fans happier. What do you guys think? I used to have a Saturday party with multiple buddies coming over, shrimp on the BBQ, ribs, beer... It was an all day affair! A real tradition to kick off the start of spring. Now the first round is being held on the ferkin' Thursday night! Idiots. Some things are best left alone.

I've seen lots of the Fanspeak mock drafts, and sometimes they seem worthwhile. Other times, however, there are ridiculous scenarios like a top 5 guy slipping to the Bears at 14. I'm just not sure they're reliable enough to be a valuable tool. I did three, with varying approaches, just to see the results. Draft #1 (S First, BPA > need) 14 S HAHA CLINTON-DIX ALABAMA 51 DT DOMINIQUE EASLEY FLORIDA 82 CB LOUCHEIZ PURIFOY FLORIDA 117 DT ANTHONY JOHNSON LSU 156 G JON HALAPIO FLORIDA 183 RB DE'ANTHONY THOMAS OREGON 191 S VINNIE SUNSERI ALABAMA Review: I didn't intend to go so heavy with SEC, but that's how it worked out. SB Nations latest draft is more to my liking. It addresses all our defense needs and adds some O prospects I think we need. Notes: I think Pryor will be a star in the NFL and after the first 3 S prospects, it may be deep but many wont be able to start first year. We need our draft pick to start so S in the first is a good call. I think Donald is the best prospect at a need position but I suspect he will be gone, so we grab a rotational player in the second round that will have to add stength but has great upside. We need younger CBs and after reading more about this CB, it seems like a good fit. He doesnt have to start his first year so he has…
