some *excerpts... ok i can understand a coach getting fed up with the same questions over and over and wanting to stick up for his players. stating "we've got a good offensive line" a bit over the top but... he has no idea why?? that's a pretty scary statement. even taking heat and getting fed up with the media this is an amazing statement to utter even in your sleep. hmmmmmm... maybe if i knew each player personally i would like them too. but to say we have "good players and good depth"? is he living on bizzaro world? in regards to beekman... this is his high recommendation? his analysis of our supposedly future center? he is…

http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/colu...&id=4827883 Dammit if it doesn't look like Willie, Otis and Mike couldn't play a down or 2 right now! And I love Jimmy Mac on the "Rascal" instead of the Honda Scooter!

1. ted phillips - great bean counter and cap guru. accomplishments: great stadium deal if you are the owner and cheap help. all designed to keep money in owners pockets. 2. jerry angelo - cheap first time GM who is great as a cap guru and, as phillips right hand man, helps keep money in owners pockets. accomplishments: great cap management which helps put cash in owners pockets but after 7 years of drafts has nothing/nothing special to show for it on either side of the ball. hired the cheapest inexperienced coaches and staff possible and sees no need to change any of them after 2 pathetic back-to-back seasons of regressive mediocrity. won't rock the salary boat…

I see a lot of you are speaking highly about Herman Johnson but he IMO is a project. This is a guy who is 6/7 and over 320 pounds and plays inside. That is not a good fit.He tends to get straightened up to fast and he struggled in one on one drills at the Senior Bowl against Rajii,Brace and Jerry. What do you think would happen when he lines up opposite an Albert Haynesworth or the Williamses at Minn? He is being projected at OT because of his size but honestly he doesn't move that well. His only great distinction right now is that he was the largest baby born in the state of Louisiana at 15 pounds.

If this guy hangs around until the 3rd rd, I would take him in a heart beat. Put Williams at LOT, Place Sinclair next to him at LOG, OK as Center, Place Johnson at ROG, and then grab a ROT in the draft or FA. Problem solved, we have a solid and powerful OL. Herman Johnson, LSU, One Huge OG prospect, Would look great in a Bears Uniform, IMO.

I'm not a doctor. I never claimed to be one. But hearing all the expertise here about how Angelo was a complete idiot regarding a 3 or 4 year old herniated disc was inspirational. It inspired me to do a quickie Google of the terms "herniated disc recovery". Well, I'll be damned if the first full page isn't full of free information on how exercise is the number one cure. Dumb Jerry, he should've known better! This Williams guy hasn't been exercising or playing football or anything for the last three seasons! DOH! You guys know everything about everything! Fire Jerry and hire this board! Go Bearshhhhhh!!!!!!!!

The Bears should have traded Hester when they had the chance. Earlier this season when Hester was holding out for money I (and I think a few others) said that he is not going to be worth anymore than he was then. I said he was one injury away from losing his step and was only going to get slower regardless. That and all the other teams are figureing out how to stop him. First he tried to make something out of nothing (see the Colts game and a tackle on the 3) then this injury. A "soft tissue" injury to the ribs that could keep him out for up to two weeks? I mean come on!!! This was just a result of the heat and cramping. There is a troubling trend developing. …

Devin Hester has at least one reception in 48 straight games, the 4th longest streak in #Bears history (Booker-60, Engram-57, Ditka-49).

Last week, there was some discussion as to Hester's value, and how it may stack up against Berrian, on the field and financially. W/o getting into the on field contributions, I was thinking about the contracts now that Hester has signed. Berrian signed a 6 year deal. Hester signed a 4 yr extension on a deal w/ 2 years remainings, thus essentially a 6 year deal. Berrian's deal has a max value of $42m. Hester's deal has a max value of $40m. Berrian got $16m in guaranteed money. $5m SB, $8m 2008 roster bonus and $3m 2009 roster bonus. Hester got $15m in guaranteed money, though I have not read yet how that money is broken up. The two deals are pret…

Are they here next year? I cannot see the front office spending good money on either of there two players. I know we all want them to retire as Bears but not if it costs us getting a top notch offensive lineman or two if free agency. Thoughts? Peace

Imagine if the Bears got Devin Hester in the right position from the get go. He's failed at DB and has never lived up to the #1 WR that the Bears envisioned. Maybe if he was used primarily out of the slot he'd do better, or maybe not. But I think using him like Darren Sproles would've been the best way to go. Return specialist and change of pace RB. Hub Arkish brought this up and I thought this would be an excellant thought to consider. RB is alot easier to learn and Devin should grasp it pretty quickly. He would probably be open more often than not coming out of the backfield and being a check down or screen option. Combine comparison of the two- Devin H…

The boss said it and he has to "compete" for the job: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...r-returner.html Along with this statement Emery also said losing Knox means we have a void in need of a speed WR. Pretty clear that isn't you Hester. Looks like trade bait for a late rd pick...where a team would be drafting a PR/KR anyway. A bad team with cap space that needs a big name to help sell tickets would fit the bill nicely.
