OK, I think I need to vent for a moment after watching yesterday's roller-coaster ride... Before Orton got hurt, the O was moving as usual, and the D was sputtering as usual (this and last season). I was livid watching the D! I could not believe how awful they were playing. How, the same routes that killed us in our other games were killing us again. How we kept plying off receivers so much that you could park a semi between our D backs and their WR's... All this had me just beyond annoyed. Then Kye got hurt. Lovie had stolen all the credit for the defense being dominant the past few years, when really the mastermind was Rivera. These past two seasons with lovies "right hand man" Babich we have been aweful on defense. HMM, well we were a top 5 defense with rivera, but lovie fires him and gives the job to someone who did jack shit to earn the job other then kiss lovie's cover 2 ass. Babich needs to go, and if lovie says one word, he should be shit canned as well. Brad Briggs at the SunTimes reports that Jason McKie left practice yesterday with and injured quad. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bsep29.article That causes problems since he was our only FB on the 53 man squad. Jason Davis may be promoted from the PS, but that means that someone else will be cut or Vasher will be placed on the IR. Hope Davis can block the hell out of the Williams' boys!

They beat our arse in the most important game of the year. They deserve to go to the playoffs and we do not. The last 2 losses on the road are a direct reflection on our coaching staff. If they cannot turn this around and get the team to 9-7 or better then they should go. This has nothing to do with the 'fire and the passion' but instead the fact they are being out coached repeatedly. I know they will be here for 1 more yr but that doesn't excuse the mess they have created. Peace

Let's assume that Lovie keeps his staff intact and Angelo keeps the same blue print for offseason building ( drafts, FA's, Extending team players contracts). Last year i was suprised that Williams was our #1 pick ,but it was a definate a must. Angelo likes to pick up seasoned OL Vets ( early 30's) to fill in as stop gaps. I think we can agree on that Offensive line and WR's seems to be a must this year as well as FS and DL. I know we have certain amount of cap space allowed for Fa's and draft choices. SI.com Thoughts? As of now, it looks a bit easy. The Lions, Packers, Browns, Rams, 49ers, Seahawks, and Bengals all have top 12 draft picks. Obviously, it could change totally (see: 2008 Falcons, 2008 Dolphins) but as of now, it looks like the NFL schedule's are in our favor.

I'm not sure if you guys saw this hit today by (my boy) Taylor Mays in the Rose Bowl, but sign me up. I understand he was flagged, but that's always called in college as opposed to 60% (IMO) in the NFL. The Bears have formally submitted a contract offer to free agent OT John St. Clair. The proposal is for three years and probably about $5-6 million annually.
