So I was thinking, regardless if the Bears use #1 on a QB or trade down, they will have at least one pick in the top 10 to draft a non-QB. Knowing that, and with the assumption that 3 QBs will go in the top 10, what group of players must the Bears get at least one player from? For me, it is a group that includes MHJ, Nabers, Odunze, Bowers, or Alt. With 3 QBs, there is a chance that all of them are gone at #9. If that is the case, would you be ok with someone else in this group? Someone like Turner, Verse, or Latu on the Edge? Fashanu? I would rather trade down if none of those 5 are there. Thoughts?

I went to look at the odds ( draftkings) on who ends up with Justin . I was surprised to see it was the Bears. +100 Atlanta was at +140 in second. Personally I think Poles keeps Fields and takes the draft haul. ( not trying to argue that point) but I thought odds would be great going somewhere else , it's not. I'll keep track of the odds, I was going to put my money where my mouth is and bet 100 on him staying.

I'm an optimist and viewed the OL as getting better. With the injuries involved, it was terrible . Swiftly gives the stats for the line in his video. We were tied for 5 th (50) in the league in giving up sacks. Had we not had a mobile QB, that total could have been much worse. We were 26 th in the league in PBC, ( pass blocking efficiency). We had the worst PAK in the league, 60.4% of the time Fields was under pressure on passing plays. We had a mobile QB , I can't imagine what that would have been with a typical pocket passer. We've debated, ad nauseum, about what to do with the draft and Justin. Many scenarios have occurred, from drafting Williams to trading back to gain capitol. Since it's pre combine, I'm doing a win win draft for what I'd like. I didn't get a starting center or swing tackle, but free agency should should be good in that area. Twelve picks and Washingtons 2025 number one. I also adjusted to count for an early second for Justin.

The Bears hired Jennifer King as the assistant RB coach. Been in the NFL a few times working for Ron Rivera at Carolina and last year at Washington. I joke but it's nice women at least get chances at becoming serious football coaches. Note: not a former player.

IF we draft Caleb Williams, odds are the Bears bring in a veteran backup QB. Bagent was okay in 4 games but Getsy babied him with 250 WR screens in those games. All quick throw routes so he didn't have to hold the ball to long. I think they bring in a vet to backup Williams, so who? Here's a article giving the top 10 FA QBs. So, this is the type of haul we could get by trading back. It would definitely be sick to get 9 picks in the first three rounds. A couple of the odd looking picks are Johnny Wilson and Beaux Limmer. I'm converting Wilson to TE and Limmer to OG. Limmer is an absolute freak athlete, who should make an excellent guard. F it, Bagent could make an eventual playoff run if we get this stacked. Apparently, since 2000, there has only been a single Super Bowl victory that had a top 10 WR on the roster who was drafted by the team he played for in the Super Bowl. That is Mike Evans. There have been 33 picks in the top 10 used for a WR since 2000. It is ugly. The media disrespect continues. According to draft order, the bears finished 23rd ranked in the NFL. Not bad considering it was year two of a complete rebuild. We played the last half of theseason as a top fifteen team. Fast forward to the 2024 season and the preseason rankings have arrived. In comes The Athletic, ranking us at 24! As the slander and liable continues, please post rankings you find. I want to uproot this incompetence early, so we can nail them to it later.

Back when the trade deadline was approaching a lot of Bears fans were calling for Poles to trade for Chase Young. Since we have seen a good body of his work since he was traded to the 49ers, it looks like he is just fully recovered from his ACL tear and might be someone who could be a viable option to pair with his former teammate Montez Sweat.
