I've seen several comments about how good a group (for receiving) the TEs looked. It appears we'll have more good options outside of the first round. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/NFP-br...ys-workout.html

I was looking at a 9ers message board in their bears/9ers game thread to see what they had to say and I stumbled upon this....Probably not news but I haven't heard it before. Doug Farrar: One of the reasons the Bears' O-line is so weak is that Tice doesn't install protections in the preseason. Minimal prep with calls. Something tells me this won't happen in the Trestman era.

Odds of us signing a top type LT in FAgency is slim especially, if we try to resign Melton. SO here are our choices:(no particular order) Max Starks- older but maybe a stop gap for a year Wil Svitek- played well last year, older but maybe a stop gap for a year King Dunlap- a little younger and maybe can last 3 years (not great) but I will accept average at this point Jason Smith- a second player overall bust in 2009, maybe Kroner can bring him up to par ( Im reaching with this one) I think due to his age, Dunlap would be an inexpensive choice, and if he WEBB beats him out, I will have to eat some crow.

I have been reading Bears reporters tweets and it has been stated that they wish to bring back Idonije, Scott, and Louis. That Carmi is figured to be a flexible player G and T. so what does all that tell us? Does the possiblity exist that McCellan goes to LB if they bring back Idonije? Emery stated he could play other positions? If they bring back Scott, I would say he is our RT? With Louis coming back our RG? I suppose that depends on health. Carmi being flexible, does that mean he goes to LG? It has been stated they are looking at 2 FAgent OTs. So if thats the case, whoever it is, that Webb becomes our swing tackle? If all this is true, wh…

The boss said it and he has to "compete" for the job: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...r-returner.html Along with this statement Emery also said losing Knox means we have a void in need of a speed WR. Pretty clear that isn't you Hester. Looks like trade bait for a late rd pick...where a team would be drafting a PR/KR anyway. A bad team with cap space that needs a big name to help sell tickets would fit the bill nicely.

His expected recovery is 4 months and should be able to take the field for May mini camps. With so many of the top prospects recovering from injury, I'm wondering if this drops him into the 2nd rd around the Bears pick. In Rd 2 I would take the plunge.

Making that move which has been reported locally would cost the Bears 8 of their possible 11 million in cap space basically handicapping them to make other moves. A deal needs to be done to give the team more flexability.

Walterfootball is putting up lists of players who interview with certain teams at the E-W Shrine Game as well as at other draftee workouts in the future. I'll add to the list when I see them added, if admins want to pin this. E/W Shrine Tyrone Goard, WR, Eastern Kentucky Zach Line, FB, SMU Matt Evans, LB, New Hampshire Bradley McDougald, S, Kansas Josh Evans, S, Florida (twice) Christine Michael, RB, Texas A&M ------------- Senior Bowl Johnathan Franklin, RB, UCLA Margus Hunt, DL, SMU Brandon Williams, DT, Missouri Southern Terron Armstead, T, Arkansas Pine Bluff Robert Lester, S, Alabama -------------- Combine DJ Fluker, T, Alabam…

Would you trade our 2013 first round pick for a 2014 first round and a 2013 third round pick? Lets say Kansas City drafts the OLT Joeckel with the first pick, and then wants to be sure they get QB Matt Barkley also. They give up the 2014 first round selection along with the 63 pick in RD3. It would hurt us this season, but next year we will be loaded to get a premier player or two, and we also get the top pick in RD3. 2014 prospects?? DE- Jadeveon Clowney SC OLT - Taylor Lewan Mich OLT - Jake Matthews Texas AM OLT - Cyrus Kouandjo AL OLT - David Yankey Stan It's definately a thought to consider, especially if we think the make or b…

I believe there may be a run on offensive linemen therefore we trade our first to whichever of Ari, Buff, or Jax who I believe will be trading up in the to get either Smith or Glennon. For this mock I will be using Jax as our trade partner. In regards to FE: Melton 4/26 Louis 2/4 Levitre 5/35 Url: no more than three a year. I'd give him 1/2. Roach: 2/5 Draft: 33. Terrance Williams--can be our receiver to blow the top off as well as a good redzone target. 52. Menelik Watson-- explosive and athletic. Can play both tackle positions and instin 66. Barrett Jones--His stock is falling for some reason. We all know what he brings. …

Fit speed is Brandon Marshalls training facility...We all know Jeffery was going to be training with Marshall but I just wanted to point out that E-Rod and Armando Allen are also training there as well. (Didn't really know where to put this so why not a new thread?) It was noted that Marshall went from a 4.7 to a 4.4 40 in 8 weeks while training at Fit Speed. A boost in speed to all of those guys would be fantastic.

After reading Brad Briggs, he lives Bears football he states our cap to be 10.9 We cut spaeth,Davis, Hester, Mannley and that gives us 8.2 mill to add to the pie. Adam suggested some of the bottom of the roster guys can give us another 2 mil. (since we replace those players with the ones we sign) Lets say we reconstruct a few contracts to give us another 2.7 mil. So our total comes to 21.8 mil. drop the 5 million for the rookie pool. We resign Melton-6 mil applies to 2013. We resign Roach- 2.5 mil applies to 2013 We resign Louis- 2.0 mil. for the 2013 season we resign DJ Moore - 1 mil for the season We sign UFAs Will Beatty/LT 4.5 mill for the …

I think we need a legit LT in free agency. I wouldnt mess with any rookie Kiko, Id love it http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1512696...-the-super-bowl

This Board is dead and it's killing me...I'm literally watching bowling right now. Lol. I'm gonna pull a Terra and post me up a good ol mock. Cut Hester, Davis, and Spaeth...I believe that (~7M) along with the 3 mill carried over and the 13 we already have gives us 23M to work with Resign- Melton- 8 Roach-3 Moore-2 Hayes-1 Okoye-2 Sign Andy Levitre 7 Draft Trading down in the first would be a fantastic thing, with the depth of the OL in the draft class I think we can venture into the low 1st high 2nd and still get a good piece. It's tough to really tell who might be interested in trading up so I'll just throw out a random team with 2 …

Would anybody be totally against him? I can speak from first hand experience. Hawaiian people are not trash, and are extremely genuine. I think as far as football talent, he is on top. Maybe his combine wont be Ogletree's or Jenkins, but like I said... Lets say he leaves combine: 6'2 245lbs 4.65 40yrd 24 reps

Today, Mike Mayock had a 150 minute conference call and said 4 players deserve to be the #1 overall pick: Warmack, Cooper, Johnson, and Joeckel (2 guards!). Thoughts? To me, this makes me really want the Bears to either take Cooper at 20 or trade down a few spots and select him. He can play G right now and has the versatility to be the C for the next 10 years.
