Read the following comments from Turner in the Sun Times, Turner told his boss in no uncertain terms that Orton is the man to run the Bears' offense. ''I feel great about Kyle,'' Turner said. ''Get him a good supporting cast, some people around him, and he can be a really great player. He played that way a lot this past year. If there is a veteran out there that can come in and provide some depth and possibly provide some competition, fine. But we feel good about Caleb [Hanie], too.'' Contrast that w/ comments Angelo made earlier. Angelo gave everyone the impression he was far from satisified w/ Orton, and was actually looking to replace him. Angelo said…

If this guy hangs around until the 3rd rd, I would take him in a heart beat. Put Williams at LOT, Place Sinclair next to him at LOG, OK as Center, Place Johnson at ROG, and then grab a ROT in the draft or FA. Problem solved, we have a solid and powerful OL. Herman Johnson, LSU, One Huge OG prospect, Would look great in a Bears Uniform, IMO.

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=5548 NORTHBROOK, Ill. – Thanks in part to two Bears players, U.S. soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan will enjoy a special meal while watching the Super Bowl a week from Sunday. Punter Brad Maynard and running back Adrian Peterson helped load 2,000 Lou Malnati’s pizzas onto trucks Friday at Lou Malnati’s corporate office in Northbrook. First, I don't know what to make of what was said at the press conferences with Angelo and Lovie after our last game. Also later thru newspaper and radio interviews. Plus toss in with Turner chiming in with his views. Does it sound like their all on the same page? I must admit Lovie has some big cajunas to come out and say he will be more of HC/DC, Babich DC/LB , hiring Marinelli DL/assistant HC and Hoke DB. If this does not workout next season ( which I pray it does work ) even with or without some help from FA's or within the Bears Org. lovie is putting his head on the block. I would consider the minimum would be a top 10 Defense a success. On offense,…

Random thoughts from watching the Senior Bowl QBs... Graham Harrel flat out sucks and won't get drafted. I don't think I've ever seen a QB with a weaker arm, not even in high school. Rhett Bomar looked ok at times, seems to have enough arm strength to play in the league and showed some decent athleticism, his accuracy was way off on some plays. Comments like this in an interview make me think he "doesn't get it" and will drop below where his athleticism would put him: http://www.draftcountdown.com/interviews/R...Rhett-Bomar.php "Scott Wright: When scouts and NFL decision makers inevitably ask you about your time with the Sooners how are you go…

...and so is Imren. http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=267069 Old No. 46 just another sad reminder By Mike Imrem Everything bothers me about the Bears these days. They're like the brother-in-law you love because you're stuck with him, but everything about him drives you crazy. My latest discomfort with the Bears came in the form of something that around the NFL was just another team hiring another assistant coach. Around my breakfast table it was a bowl of yuck: Doug Plank is joining the New York Jets' coaching staff. Plank played safety under former Bears defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan, father of new Jets head coach Rex Ryan. …

Interesting read from Toub's interview posted on ESPN. Toub is gonna fix Hester My favorite part: DT: We're going to emphasize with him to get a first down; get the ball up the field north and south, get 10 yards and then make a big play from there. If Devin can get that in his mind, then the return TDs will be there again. He spent far too much time going backwards and sideways, thinking he could outrun anyone and everyone...even someone with a great angle on him. Hester is super, but he's not superman.

NFL Films best of the coaches on the sideline Notice it's the best. If Lovie were in there, it would be a lot of mumbling and stuff about "braaaains".

For s's and gigles...I emailed this on 12/7/07 to some fellow Bears fans/friends... I hope all the pictures come through... ************************************** Please BEAR with me as I need to vent... THIS TEAM IS PATHETIC! THE OWNERSHIP IS PATHETIC! THE MANAGEMENT IS PATHETIC! THE COACHING STAFF IS PATHETIC! THE PLAYERS ARE PATHETIC! There is no heart, no soul. Only the cashing of paychecks and the crushing of fans' hopes. Until further notice, I will not attend a game the Bears play, in Chicago or elsewhere until I see a coaching change. Let's see, we have Life-Support-Lovie as head coach... ...who can't make halftime …

Nathan Vasher is "all but out of the mix" at cornerback for the Bears, according to the Chicago Tribune. The Tribune points out that Vasher's tackling skills have declined. He also isn't ideally built to play cornerback in the Bears' scheme at only 5'10/180. The Bears are expected to consider a corner with the No. 18 overall pick. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....-the-draft.html

Just wanted to see what your thoughts were on my newest mock draft. Trade down in the 1st, pick up a 3rd and a 5th. 1. Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee ---Before the Senior Bowl, his toughness and ability to get the QB were questioned and he was a 3rd rounder. He had a great week of practices and a great Senior Bowl. He's a late 1st-early 2nd guy now. 2. Kenny Britt, WR, Rutgers ---All is quiet on the Kenny Britt front. He'll probably run a measly 4.6 40 at the combine which hopefully will help him fall here. 3. 3. Fenuki Tupou, RT, Oregon ---He's a good pass AND run blocker. He can play RT or LT. It's about time we added an islander. 3. Jairus Byrd, CB, Ore…

The Bears are expected to try to re-sign OT John St. Clair this offseason with the intention of starting him at right tackle. St. Clair's pass protection woes would be less obvious on the strong side after he gave up a high volume of sacks in Kyle Orton's blind side last year. The Bears would likely have him battle it out with RT John Tait. By Vaughn McClure Last year before the draft, NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock reported how teams dropped Chris Williams on their draft boards because of medical issues related to Williams’ neck and back. As you may recall, back surgery sidelined the Bears' top pick for half of his rookie season. Reminded of his …

Muhammad has a great year, comes here, sucks, gets released, and has a 900 yard year. Maybe it's just no WR will strive here. Would trading what could potentially be our future (1st and a 3rd + his $10+ million extension) for Boldin be a waste? Thoughts?
