March: Franchise Forte --Key offensive piece for the Bears; expect a longer term deal as TC approaches. Sign Demetrius Bell- 4 years, $18 million. --Bell only gave up 1 sack in 6 starts at LT last year, but he has had some knee issues. Still, he's 48x better than Webb. Sign Stevie Johnson- 5 years, $25 million. --Not that I love this, but I see the Bears going this route. He'll be cheaper than Bowe/Jackson/D.Jackson, and he and Bennett have the same agent. Sign Eddie Royal- 2 years, $4 million. --Knox's career is likely over, at least in Chicago, and Royal is a similar player. Of course, Royal is slower but he has better hands and he knows Cutler. Sign M…

  2. I wanted to get other fan's opinions on this topic because I am stuck in between on this one. On one hand, if Cutler and Forte don't get hurt, IMO they finish 12-4 with an outside shot at beating GB in Lambeau to finish 13-3. That would suggest that they are right there and only need a few tweaks to get there, mainly a #1 WR and a LT. OTOH, the Bears defense is aging with all of their stars on the wrong side of 30, and on offense, Cutler is going to be 29 this season, so he probably has 4-6 years left of being a reliable option before his skills start to erode. I would probably go for it in the 2012 season, and win or lose, dismantle the team after the season. They s…

My off season vlog talking about the changes in the Bears Org. I am asking a couple of my Seattle friends to either post comments on my video or cam up and tell us what was Jeremy Bates's downfall in Seattle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHXt4e9LCrE Please post your thoughts and comments. Either here or on the video itself. If my friends make any video responses for me, I will post them also to this thread.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...om-back-injury/ Johnny Knox faces long road to recovery from back injury Posted by Michael David Smith on February 8, 2012, 4:12 PM EST AP Bears receiver Johnny Knox cracked a facet joint in his spinal column when he was bent backward awkwardly during a December game against the Seahawks, and when initial reports said he would need 3-4 months to recover, that sounded like good news compared to how ugly the injury looked. But now comes word that the 3-4 months estimate may have been overly optimistic. When a fan asked Knox on Twitter last week whether he thinks he can play next season, Knox didn’t answ…

OK, the SB is done. Laddi-fricken-da. I was bored. A close game doesn't mean it was a good game. There was nothing that went on that remotely felt like greatness. Just good-ness. Congrats to the Giants. They earned the victory. Now, we can focus on the Bears and next season! I'm totally chugging massive glasses of Kool-Aid! If this Giants team can win it, our Bears with an improved WR corps, better OL play, and an improved DL can do it! I truly feel that if we address all 3 issues in FA and the draft, and stay relatively healthy in the key positions...we're going and winning. And in a kick ass way. BEAR THE F DOWN!!!!

http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/10507...n=chicago-bears Intriguing. From what I've been reading, Emery doesn't strike me as high profile big spender. I suspect they are going to try and get a deal done for Forte. This would make some sense, and I think he might be past his silly stage... Or would that matter? I still like Burress (as he could be available) or even better Marshall. But hey..what do I know?

  13. Started by jason,

I've been seeing lots of mocks where LaMichael James from Oregon is falling into the third and fourth round. Would be prudent for the Bears to spend a late third on him if other issues have been addressed? For instance, what if the Bears had the following: 1: Michael Floyd, WR, ND 2: Janoris Jenkins, DB, UNA 3a: Nate Potter, LT, BST 3b: LaMichael James, RB, OR If that happened, I see three potential first day starters, and a great RB who could either fill in for Forte to give him a break or potentially replace him if the contract never gets sorted out. Add in the fact that there will be a ton of OLB depth available in the fourth round, and it sounds lik…

You are in the war room and Mike Adams and Michael Floyd are available at the 19th pick. What's your pick. I would take Floyd over Adams because I believe he is a higher rated prospect than Adams but Floyd can't get the ball if Cutler is on his back.
