Doesn't name names but clearly Marty B was one of the few guys on the offensive side of the ball who was playing hard and playing with price. That much was evidence. He went on to mention he wasn't going to name names but that the guys in the lockeroom know who he is talking about. Obviously you can presume he's talking about Jay but I think it likely goes beyond that and goes to other guys on the offensive side of the ball, including coaches, etc. We really are a dysfunctional mess and to be frank it is probably better off that way as it really is the only way we will see some form of significant change this season (vs. having to go through all of this mess again …

if what we are seeing is truly in the works then we really may see a change in how this franchise operates and is perceived. the rumors are out there that from the top down they have used the phoenix effect. burn this franchise to the ground and let it rise from the ashes. if so, then there is finally real hope for this team and it's fans. it seems it is starting from the very top: virginia mccaskey (a very good read)... http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/12/29/ber...d-bears-action/ moving ted phillips out of football operations and really hire a team president in that respect. these things are way more important than just hiring and firing a new c…

Just for fun I thought of it from TD's point of view (seriously, without jest): The Bears absolutely have to get rid of Cutler. Conservatively, I think the Bears can get a 4th for him. Maybe a 3rd. Let's say TN wants him. 1 - Shane Ray, DE, Missouri --or-- Randy Gregory, DE, Nebraska - Whoever they like best and fits the scheme to be run. 2 - Derron Smith, FS, Fresno St. - Best FS in the draft. Great instincts. Good angles. Awesome hands. Predicts passes and jumps routes. 3 - Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor - He's pretty much the antithesis of Cutler at QB. 4 - Deshazor Everett, CB, TX A&M - He already has a history of crushing Green Bay players. 4 - Jake Fish…

So I'm sitting at the Kona airport waiting for my connection to Honolulu and had some time to think. Dick LeBeau has resigned from the Steelers but said he doesn't plan on retiring. I know he's old but doesn't seem to age. What if be was interested in being a HC? I like that he's been around awhile so he has street cred and might attract some good young eventual coordinator prospects. Most here loved Cowher and the two of them spent some quality time together. What if?

Looks like he was fined by team for weight: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/broncos-playe...-171300324.html Don't know if that having the same coach would hurt or help our cause. He is definitely an immovable object when he is in there.

So got another "off the wall" scenario for you. WHAT IF Peyton was to decide to retire? Would he be worth considering as an OC? What about at least a QB coach? We know he's a student of the game. He has a few weeks to decide and is closing in on 40 (which makes him older than our GM by the way).

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/...ebackers-coach/ Bears name Clint Hurtt outside linebackers coach Posted by Josh Alper on January 27, 2015, 4:04 PM EST Chicago Bears v Carolina Panthers Getty Images The Bears have brought several of John Fox’s assistants to Chicago from Denver since hiring Fox as their head coach, but one member of the 2014 staff will be sticking around. Clint Hurtt was the defensive line coach in 2014 and will remain on the staff in 2015 as the team’s outside linebackers coach. The position is usually found on staffs running a 3-4 defense, which isn’t what the Bears ran last season but is likely to be at least part of the…

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0128-story.html Pretty interesting article. A lot of what we've already heard but Feeley is a pretty intelligent guy and already kind of works in media (outside of occasionally signing on when other teams kickers get hurt).

It looks like Gase was offered the SF HC job, but only if Tomsula was his DC. He said no, and would keep Fangio or look to get an Assistant from Cincinnati. SF said no to Gase and Fangio and then pushed Tomsula up from DLine to HC.

http://wallstcheatsheet.com/sports/nfl-pro...the-nfc.html/3/ NFC North Chicago Bears All Active Contracts: $120.86 million 2014 Salary Cap Rollover: $1.55 million Dead Money: $105,155 Draft Pool: $5.70 million Total Salary Cap Space: $23.89 million The Bears would have the salary cap space to be extremely aggressive in free agency if they weren’t facing a $16.5 million cap hit for quarterback Jay Cutler. While they still have a good amount of money to spend, they will likely not be able to address every position that needs improvement this offseason. They are in desperate need of help at linebacker with Lance Briggs likely being done in Chica…

With McPhee, Royal, and Rolle pending contracts. I would still like to see a few more guys brought in from this pool of defensive candidates (for the right price): Safety: #28 Rahim Moore - S (25) #88 Ron Parker - S (27) Cornerback: #27 Chris Culliver - CB (27) #46 Perrish Cox - CB (28) Linebacker: #49 Curtis Lofton - ILB (28) #59 Mason Foster - ILB (26) Defensive/Nose Tackle: #16 Terrance Knighton - DL (29) #29 Dan Williams - DL (28) # - NFL FA Ranking If we could bring in a couple of more guys from these groups (wishful thinking), I think we would be in great position going into the draft. I was hoping for 4x new starters …

Somehow we are the first team to draft a WR, and we go with White? He also has NYJ picking Waynes (CB) like they need another CB, hilarious. 7. Kevin White, WR, West Virginia 39. P.J. Williams, CB, Florida State 71. A.J. Cann, G, South Carolina 103. Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor 134. Joey Mbu, NT, Houston So we have a ridiculously bad defense, yet only 2 picks on that side of the ball? I would love Petty in the 4th, but I doubt he lasts that long. WF lost some credibility with this mock.

I couldn't believe he was with us that long. But he played 10 years with the Bears and averaged just over $1M per season with the Bears. Was a fantastic value player, missed a grand total of 6 games during that tenure and gave up an average of 3 sacks per year. He was getting older and wasn't the player he once was, but he did a good job in Chicago and wore the uniform with pride.
