Day after, and I feel hungover. Not from actual drinking, but from the season already. Not that I watched the whole game...I bowed out when we went down by 21 to watch the Red Zone Channel. This team is done for the season. They are checked out. I don't think we beat SF. SF is fighting hard and have a better coaching staff than us. I think the only one we win is against the Browns. We go 4-12. That said, like the team, I'm a bit checked out. It's hard watching Tru struggle with bad play calling, stupid penalties and no talent around him. I'll still stick with it, but I literally wish there was a Madden "Simulate Rest of Season" button. We have some tal…

How well the Bears answer five key questions will determine how many games they win in 2008: 1.Can they create turnovers the way Lovie Smith teams typically do? Defensive coordinator Bob Babich calls it the " AT&T'' approach -- attack, tackle and takeaway. But lately the Bears cannot find a good connection with the way they like to play defense. Their defense created only 13 of their 33 takeaways in the first half of last season and by then it was too late to recover. Overall, that was 11 fewer takeaways than 2007. Smith's teams need turnovers to win; he is 21-5 when winning the turnover battle since taking over in 2004. When the Bears have fewer takeaw…

    1. Bears won cuz Manning was rusty Bogus.. Bears scored 22 Point on one the best D's in the NFL, Manning had nuttin to do with that. 2.Orton is nothing but a game manger, he did nothing special. Bogus.. Orton looked more like Manning then Manning looked like Manning. He checked defensive alignments and called plays based on thos reads. Plus if your running game rushed for almost 200 yards why change to the pass? He did exactly what was needed to win that game. 3.Hester needs a boot up his ass for that stupid endzone fake Maybe..But if it turned into 6, we all would be hailing him and only one away from Mitchells record. I think everyone forgets that D…

Noots’ Notes-Game Two: 20-17 Loss at CarolinaBy Michael Nudo The Bears fell to 1-1 after blowing a 17-3 third quarter lead at Carolina on Sunday. The Panthers used an opportunistic defense and the hard running of Jonathan Stewart to get the job done. They let this one slip away (AP Photo/Chuck Burton). OFFENSE QuarterbackKyle Orton’s performance (19-32-149) reflected the overall Bears effort. He got off to an accurate and efficient start hitting on nine of his first thirteen passes in the first half. Orton found Brandon Lloyd for 32 yards while backed up inside his own ten yard-line. He hit Desmond Clark for 15 yards on a 2nd and long. Orton near…

per Profootballtalk.com: GRIESE IS THE GUY IN TAMPA Posted by Mike Florio on September 16, 2008, 10:37 a.m. To little surprise, Brian Griese is now the starting quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And Jeff Garcia isn’t. Griese led the Bucs to a 24-9 win over the Falcons in their Week Two home opener. Garcia quarterbacked the team during a 24-20 road loss to the Saints in Week One. “You know what? He warrants being a starting quarterback in the league, period,” coach Jon Gruden said of Griese. “With that said, we don’t anticipate any changes at that position this week.” So what is Garcia’s role moving forward? On Sunday, he was the thi…

Wouldn't it be nice??? Bears 1985 I especially like the Payton part in the middle...truly poetry in motion and the part when Covert is planting LT. The Bears of 2008 could so much be like these guys. Singletary = Urlacher Wilson = Briggs Dent = Ogunleye/A. Brown McMichael = Dvoracek Fencik = M. Brown Frazier = Tillman Suhey = McKie Hilgenburg = Kreutz Butler = Gould McMahon = Orton (a bit of a stretch??) Payton = Forte (I know, a REAL stretch and blasphemy..but similar no?) The others the 2008 team needs; Hampton, Gault, Van Horne, Covert, Marshall, Bortz, Perry, Thayer and especially Ditka. A swift kick wouldn't h…

“Peanut is my guy and he lucked out that he doesn’t get to play against us, if he doesn’t play,” Williams said Wednesday during a conference call with the Chicago media. “He is a heck of a player. "He is one of my homies in the NFL, a great competitor, a great guy that I love to go against twice a year. So I am looking forward to the challenge. But if he can’t go, we are going to have to exploit the next corner.” Graham chuckled when informed that Williams had said the Lions would “have to exploit the next corner." “Wow, is that what he said?” Graham said. “That’s big. That’s the first time I heard that one. We know Roy’s going to be getting the ball if Ti…

Endurance is strength of rookie RB Forte The Sun-Times has an interesting article stating an argument that Forte's decline in running yardage is simply not using him enough. I am not sure I agree, as I applaud Turner for turning to the air when defenses stack the box, but it does seem to have some legitimate points. I was wondering what your thoughts are on this article?
