On the Bears website is a 3-part discussion with Pace about the upcoming season. I think it's worth listening to as he gives his insights on shaping the roster. A couple things caught my attention: http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/vid...da-806eb0d2fc1b 1) He wants to see physical players on this team. You better not shy away from contact if you want to make this roster and he expects to see that on display in camp. I've never been to a training camp practice but it soundsl like there will be more contact than we've seen in years past with Trestman. 2) He knows this roster has some significant gaps and he's still looking for players to add. …

Well it was fun while it lasted but all the Youtube training camp videos "Roy" had posted havebeen taken down. Apparently some journalists were complaining that he wasn't following the audio and video rules that they themselves have to follow and it resulted in his plug being pulled.

I'm still optimistic he's going to turn out to be a good player for us. I don't think that happens this year as he learns a new position. If he can still run well, and the offseason workout videos seem to show that he can, then special teams coverage could be his ticket to making the 53. Best case is he challenges Bullard for significant backup reps at DE. Or maybe that's the worst case because it means Bullard hasn't progressed as we hoped. If he sticks around, down the road I can see RRH in the LDE role when we are in a 4-man front. IMO converting RRH to this role has better odds of success than when we converted Cornelius Washington to 3-4 DE. That worked…

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,4230287.story I have two questions for this board. 1. Do you think what Williams has said will fire up the team as a whole on Sunday and 2. Should we go after Williams in FA if the Lions don't pay to keep him?

Watching the play in the first half where Cutler threw a pick, did anyone else notice that it appeared that Williams gave up on the play after making his move on the Cheese Head DB as Cutler threw the ball? Seems to me that if Williams was our best option available to pick up then he should be doing anything and everything he is able to in order to re-establish himself as a top-level (I use that lightly) receiver. Right now it seems that he is a waste of money as he has struggled with a groin injury and plays like the pick shows that he is really not into what needs to be as a player in the NFL.

When I watched the game against the Raiders I noted that Roy Williams looked faster than just about every other WR out of breaks in the pregame. And during the game he was open several times and just didn't see the ball. Why that happened is anyone's guess, but I'm 99% sure it's because he wasn't the first read and there wasn't enough time to get to the second read consistently. With Knox out, it appears that Williams is the #1 read and target...and was open. 6 catches for 81 yards could have easily been 7 for close to 100 if one other pass wasn't chucked at his feet. So it brings me to the question in the header, for those who have seen more games in person this…

How the hell is this clown still on the team? Has he even caught as many passes as he has dropped? They cut Chris Harris and he did a hell of alot less to cost the team a win. Geez, he may even be worse then M Muhammad was. I'm just saying

He's now Jerry Jones' problem. Honestly, I'm happy he's out of our division. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3643295

View this from the perspective of our personnel. Robinson is easily the equal of Jeffrey, except he's better. Shaheen matches their TE at least in terms of athletic ability, and of course we have Burton. Defense's have to respect Howard on the run option at the snap. Then see the play design with quick hitting routes and imagine Anthony Miller with his quickness making those inside or outside breaks. Topping it off is Trubisky's quick and accurate release. We've seen how well Foles can execute this. If he makes the right reads these plays will be hard to defend. The video includes film of the Vikings defense trying to figure out what the Eagles were doing. …

I think it is a good decision as he will only get better and if another team wants him, they will have to pay him AND give us a 2nd round pick.

Guess who is taking all 1st team snaps at RT. What happened to having a true competition at that position like so many were on my case saying there would be. According to brad Biggs its all Webb at that position And Scott is only taking snaps with 2nd trk or when Webb needs a breather. This is not a competition. I hope this staff knows what its doing cuz if webb blows again and gets jay hurt again there's going to be a lot of pissed off ppl for not even allowing someone to at least push Webb. What's wrong with opening things up at a position where no one has earned it.

On NFL.com there is an article that Miami has cut Isaiah Wilson whom they received from Tennessee in a recent trade. Wilson was a 1st pick with Tennessee and his draft profile projected him as a RT prospect. Wilson might be claimed well before the Bears can pick him up at 20 but there seems to be some character issues such as not attending meetings. There are some issues with the police but if the culture in the building is as fantastic as Pace and Nagy say could this help Wilson get back on track. Wilson must be as good or better as Germaine Ifedi so worth a punt. Probably signs with the Patriots as becomes a quality starting RT.

http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ BROWN DISPUTES REPORT THAT BENSON WAS TARGETED Posted by Mike Florio on June 15, 2008, 11:54 p.m. Last week, Jay Glazer of FOX suggested that as many as ten Bears players tried to hurt former Chicago running back Cedric Benson during practice. Former Bears offensive lineman Ruben Brown took issue with that notion on Sunday. “That sounds like a lot of mumbo-jumbo,” Brown told WMVP-AM radio, via the Chicago Tribune. “Nobody does that anymore. We all respect each other’s right to earn money. I mean, we’re all trying to make it, and that makes no sense. “You’re saying Mike Brown, Brian Urlacher, L…
