Alex Brown will play this weekend in Seattle and he did light workouts today on the side but was held out of the light walk through. The writer for this story is John Mullin who used to cover the Bears for the Tribune.

I have always liked him. I wanted him when I saw he was available, and was thrilled to get him. I honestly never felt he got a fair shake, as I thought he earned his playing time, but was held back as he wasn't the ideal fit for Lovie's scheme. But due to injuries, he got his playing time and kept it. IMHO, he has been our most consistent DT, and maybe most consistent DL overall. He doesn't make the big plays others do, but seems to get solid push everydown, and is maybe the biggest reason our defense began to improve against the run after Dusty went down and Adams stepped in. Anyway, there is a pretty good piece on him, from him, in the Trib, http://blogs.…

Through his representation the Milton Bradley Agency Lemonej would like to formerly apologize to Terra T for comments he made in regards to his Ronnie Knox post could there be any relation? It was not my intention to offend anyone and my personal frustration boiled over and I said somethings I shouldn't have said. Hopefully we have cleared the air and we can move on.This fans board and posters deserve to be treated with respect and in the future(going forward) I plan to refrain from wearing my sensitivity on my sleeve. Sincerly Eric "lemonej "Jacobs ps Though I did this tongue in cheek to make fun of myself I really do mean I'm sorry!

http://blog.theredzone.org/ViewItem.asp?Entry=3131 Briggs answers Houshmandzadeh Bob LeGere of the Daily Herald reports four-time Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs had a quick response to Seahawks wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh's vow to show Bears GM Jerry Angelo what he missed by not signing the former Bengal when he was a free agent last off-season. "He sounds like a bitter guy," Briggs said. "Maybe he wanted to play in Chicago. If he's going to show what he's going to do on Sunday, I'll tell you what: 'So are we, so am I.' I've been playing against T.J. since college, so I know what type of competitor he is. The guy can play. But his personal feelings tow…

Has there been a Jarron Gilbert Sighting? I have not heard much of this guy and do not recall seeing him in any significant fashion during the first 2 games.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh got a lot of attention this offseason because of what he said, in addition to what he did: sign with the Seahawks. He's been quiet on the field with his new team, trailing Nate Burleson and John Carlson slightly in receptions and yards. But Housh isn't done talking yet. In advance of this week's game against the Bears, Housmandzadeh was asked if he had any serious talks with Bears G.M. Jerry Angelo. "Man, the Bears ain't holler at me,'' he said. "Jerry Angelo probably didn't even think I could play. So I'm going to show him Sunday." Houshmandzadeh will have to show him without being fully healthy. The former Bengal sat out practi…

Everyone has fixated on the status of Hasselbeck, and for good reason, but there are a couple other injuries that could prove just as big. Most know that Walter Jones has been out, but does everyone realize his backup (Sean Locklear) also went down w/ a high ankle sprain? Per More, he isn't going to rush Jones back as he doesn't want to kill his season. But that could mean Seattle is down not only their stud LT, but also his backup. I don't even know who would start if these two can not go. Brandon Frye is listed as the backup RT, and they only picked him up a couple weeks ago off waivers. Coming off a two sack game, Alex Brown could be in for a big day. Ta…

Mulligan of the Sun Times said the following, "It's a reason why anyone who thinks Muhammad was a bad free-agent signing by the Bears is uninformed. " For the record, part of his reasoning was/is that MM was a great run blocking WR, a role that is under-appreciated w/ WRs. Further, after stating that only the uninformed would consider MM a bad FA signing, he then mentions Thomas Smith (CB) who was signed back in 2000. I would agree Smith was a worse signing. I would even agree he was a far worse signing. But that doesn't mean MM was a good signing. As I recall, MM signed w/ the bears in early '05 to a 6 year deal. I full value of the contract varied, a…

I briefly mentioned this in the game thread, but this weekend, my girlfriend bought herself a Cutler jersey and treated me to a trip to Chicago which included tickets to the Bears/Steelers game. In week one she went crazier than I did during the Bears game (especially at the end) and while she's a noob to the sport of football she is now reading the Tribune to try and learn more, haha, and has actually became a fan of the Bears, especially after seeing the game in person for week 2 and taking part in Bear Down Chicago Bears. Anyway, after the game and after a romantic dinner, I proposed to her and am now engaged. Crazy to think when I first started posting on this …

The main thing I have noticed about the Bears" receivers form the first 2 games is that they are catching the balls from Cutler with both hands in their mid sections and Knox on a couple of occassions leaped and caught the ball in his stomach. The same can be said for Kellen Davis,Hester and Bennett. The one attempt at a catch that was in a receivers hands was when Olsen got hit hard by Carter. This trend is not a problem now but when the weather gets cold balls may bounce off receivers.I have always been a fan of hands catchers but don't get madif you catch with the body but hold on to the ball. If you watch our WRs closly you can see receivers readjusting to balls that …

BackHomeSearch Sports Memo to Bears, Cutler: Go for it! Conservative play-calling on winning drive a downer CommentsSeptember 22, 2009BY CAROL SLEZAK Sun-Times ColumnistIhate to complain after a big Bears win, or for that matter after any Bears win, but what about that final drive? Was anyone else frustrated by the conservative play-calling down the stretch? The game was tied and the Bears had the ball at their 33-yard line with just over three minutes left, and -- silly me -- I expected them to go for it. Isn't that why they brought Jay Cutler to town? Any quarterback can hand the ball off to a running back for a one-yard gain. Any quarterback can …
