George McCaskey met with the the media and explains why he signed off on the deal after first saying no and then McDonald on his own flew in to meet with him and convinced George of his sincerity and he says that there are only 3 players that he as chairman got involved in the personnel matter and that is B Marsh, Sam Hurd and Ray McDonald.

I always find it funny when someone does an analysis like this with no point. To me the numbers are very misleading. 6 players are 30, and 8 our 31-33. Of those 8, 2 are our Kicker and Long Snapper. That leaves 6 players of age concern to me: Allen (gone after this year), Ratliff (only 1 or 2 years left), Rolle (stop gap Safety for 2 years), Montgomery (Centers can play into their mid-30's), Jennings (likely gone after this year), and Cutler (QB age is a non-factor at 31). This is the most optimistic view I have seen out of the national media. Now I remain realistic and slightly pessimistic (especially with the schedule). My projection is more in the 7-9 win range, but 10 would have us on the cusp of the playoffs. So what do you think? To me the schedule starts out brutal. We get a Week 7 Bye, which is a little early for me but better than Week 6. We face 5 winning teams in the first 6 games before the bye, so even 3-3 would be a huge success. The middle of the schedule is a little milder with 3 games vs winning teams and 2 against sub .500 teams. Then we finish the season with 3 out of 5 at home and only 1 game against a winning team (Week 17 at home, vs DET). We could really make a playoff push even if we went into those last 5 games at 5-6 or 6-5. Only 2 primetime games this year. A beast of a receiver, his physicality and ability to win downfield scared many a college defensive back and promise to do the same in the NFL. With the draft and most UDFA's signed, using our pre-draft depth chart, I tried to figure out who makes the cut at 53. The biggest battles are at LB and CB, and who plays what on the DLINE. Nevertheless, it should be interesting. For simplicity sake, I plugged some guys in for only one position even though they can play multiple. Looking at this you can see why we did not draft a LB. Also, it looks like the low end of the roster turnover would be 33% and can get as high as 45% depending on which 53-man roster guys stick (I see about 6 at risk) and 18 new slots already filled.
