Where Floyd will really need added strength is holding himself upright as he bends around the edge. I think that's the component of his game he'll have to work on the most.

After the surprising selection of Callahan as the 7th best NB in the NFL by SI.com now we have Ike Taylor naming Fuller and Porter as the 5th best CB tandem in the league. I happen to like Ike, although I don't always agree with his analysis. While this doesn't mean either is a top 10 CB it is at least an indication that there was some good steady play on both corners in the 2nd half of the season. With Charles Tillman retiring, I wanted to share my favorite Peanut story. On Nov 25, 2007, the Bears hosted the Broncos. Most people remember this game because Devin Hester had a kickoff and punt return for touchdowns. I remember it for another reason. The Bears were down by 7 points with under a minute left. The Broncos were set to punt and pin the Bears deep in their end of the field. He looks the part of a good outside rusher and he was physical enough with the OTs to take advantage of his quickness at times. In the 3rd quarter he tossed aside the RT creating a clear lane to the QB. The ball was released before he could close the play. While he's not the strongest it seems the coaches are teaching how to use his speed and quickness to get into players before they are set. Congrats to this young man for earning a starting opportunity in Week 3 of the preseason. I've been complimentary of him the last couple weeks and it seems he done as well or better in practice this week with the 1st team. Hats off to Eddie Royal! He is becoming a big part of this team this year. After last season I was ready to move on, but the way he has been performing, they are lucky to have him locked up. Royal and Z Miller are our TD mahines, Pace has a couple of gems here.

We have two candidates for Rookie of the Year and there hasn't been much discussion. On offense we have Jordan Howard. Given the Cowboys record it's likely Elliot wins the award on offense but when you consider that Howard, behind the Bears Oline, is averaging 5.0 yds/att vs. Elliot at 4.9 yds/att he should be in the discussion. Add in the QB carousel the Bears have had and still Howard has been productive. In fact if he'd have played the first 4 game as Elliot did they would likely be close in total yards. These awards don't go to Oline but if they did Whitehair certainly should be in the discussion as well. On defense Leonard Floyd is in the dis…

I would love to see GB end up with 9 or 10 wins and miss the playoffs. That would be worth part of my misery for this season. Looking at the Division and Wild Card, Detroit has the toughest remaining schedule, but gets GB at home in Week 17 to more than likely decide the Division. For the Wild Card, the Giants are pretty locked in at WC1 and it looks like WC2 will come down to WAS, TB, and the 2nd best team in the North (probably the loser of Week 17 GB/DET). We still have a hand in impacting the playoffs as we play WAS and MIN to end the season.
