For all those that think we'll either take Mendenhall, or let him slip to the Lions, you might reconsider. I'll agree with Madlith that he is Top10 material, I watched him quite a bit and he will be the real deal. If he does make it to our pick at 14, JA will be on the hot seat to make the right decision, but IMO he'll luck out b/c Mendenhall will be long gone and there Bears will get the best player for there team. Here's my prediction. 1 Miami- Needs DE, DT, QB, WR, and OL. Chris Long DE-Long will be an ideal fit for Parcells to build his 3-4 D. With the face of there franchise J. Taylor being slowly pushed out the door, they will bring in a new face in H…

There are fewer questions on defense, but Smith said he expects Mike Brown to move to free safety after playing strong safety last season. Brown has played free in the past. The move could have ramifications for Manning, who is considered a better free safety than strong. Smith said he expects Manning to compete at strong safety with Brandon McGowan, Kevin Payne and Adam Archuleta. He also left open the possibility the Bears could add a safety in the coming months. Unless Payne or McGowan are better Strong Safeties then Manning is Free safety this move makes no sense. They again are moving him to a new position as he starts to show improvement and get comfor…

No link yet but i just saw on the bottom line that Chris Henry has gotten in trouble again. Apparently he punched someone in the face and broke a car window with a beer bottle. If anyone finds a link please post it.

I'm hearing a lot of chatter about Albert moving up into the top 10 on draft boards. If this happens it should mean we're able to draft one of the top 3 LT. If Albert is still there for us at 14 it sounds more and more like that's a solid pick for us too.

Mike Mulligan checked in from the airport in Florida on his way from the owners meetings. He got a couple interesting tidbits during breakfast with Lovie Smith Wednesday morning. Check right here for his full story. A few highlights: *** Smith projected that Mike Brown will be the starting free safety. Presumably, that means Danieal Manning is out of a job and Brandon McGowan and Kevin Payne will battle for the strong safety job. *** Smith reiterated John Tait could be moved from left tackle to right tackle depending on what kind of personnel is added. He couldn’t name an offensive line, though, or a quarterback. And then there’s the situation at runni…

Bears announce pre-season schedule By David Haugh Tribune staff reporter The Bears released their four-game preseason schedule on Thursday. The highlight: a national TV game against the 49ers on Aug. 21 at Soldier Field. Exact times and dates will be determined later, but each opponent has been set to play within a four-day window. The Rex Grossman- Kyle Orton quarterback derby opens at home against the Chiefs somewhere between Aug. 7 and 11 before the Bears travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks at Qwest Field a week later (Aug. 14-18). The matchup against the 49ers on FOX follows on Aug. 21 -- a concrete date set by television schedules -- before t…

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Le...F?urn=nfl,74820 I never even thought about something like that. There is no way that would ever be implemented, but it was funny that they even considered it. Must have been for entertainment value. Just think of how many TD's Hester would have.

http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ COLT GETTING CUT Posted by Mike Florio on April 1, 2008, 2:54 p.m. Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan, whose buzz as a potential NFL quarterback took a serious hit once his team was dismantled by Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, will see his draft stock dip for an entirely separate reason. Brennan needs surgery to repair a torn labral in his hip, according to Tony Pauline of SI.com. The surgery is scheduled for April 7, and he’ll miss eight-to-12 weeks as he recovers and rehabs. In other words, he’ll miss most if not all of the offseason workouts of the team that drafts him. In turn, he is expected to dr…

and Brian Baldinger says that Mendy is better than McFadden because when he scouted MCF he has poor vision, poor base, doesn't make people miss, and tries to out run everybody which wont work in the pros. Interesting info for all the Mendy lovers.

Read this article on Chicago Sun Times with regards article is there any likelihood of bears matching offer and would the 2nd round pick be this year or next The Bears have two RFA’s who have yet to sign their tenders. Safety Brandon McGowan will probably do so soon. He received the mid-level tender for $1.417 million that would require a team to send the Bears a second-round draft pick if it signed McGowan to an offer sheet and the Bears declined to match it.Quite simply, that’s not going to happen. McGowan figures to be in the mix for a starting job after improving at the end of last season. A lot at safety will depend on what happens with Mike Brown, who’s coming…

The NFL season will open Thursday, Sept. 4 with the Washington Redskins playing at the defending Super Bowl-champion New York Giants. This video is near proof that the Bears need to draft OL in the first round, and maybe several others. When Cedric Benson is given a chance to build up steam, he's shown glimpses of dominating running. He's shown a little wiggle, a good deal of power, and an ability to see the whole/cutback lane. The Bears simply have to draft OL first, and all this Mendenhall talk is just plain crazy.

I've been watching the videos of Mendenhall on Youtube. Things I like. Good body control and balance. Uses blockers well Has the ability to run it inside and push for yardage. Has good speed and agility in space anticipates well. Has a good attitude a team guy Has good hands as a receiver. He does run with the ball in one hand a lot. even up the middle, he needs to be more carefull about putting two hands on the ball in a crowd. NFL Defenders are more adept at stripping the ball than college defensive players. Some of the holes I saw in the videos you could drive a truck through. But on the clips where the holes were much smaller and he was r…

The Bears currently have eight picks in the 2008 draft, one in each of the seven rounds plus an additional third-round selection they obtained in a draft-day trade with the San Diego Chargers last year. The Bears dealt their fifth-round pick to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for defensive tackle Darwin Walker, but regained a fifth-round pick from the Carolina Panthers in a deal for safety Chris Harris. The Bears also could be awarded a compensatory pick or two after losing free agents such as Alfonso Boone, Todd Johnson, Ian Scott and Cameron Worrell. -from Bears Chalk Talk on chicagobears.com So as it stands now, here's how I see our draft goin'... 1. Kenny Ph…
