Will be the end of the Bears' current staff. Im thinking it will be so embarrassing and the home crowd will force the issue

After the Kmet extension, $3.6M got applied to the 2023 cap, bringing the Bears cap space down to $28.4M, still the highest available cap in the NFL. The next 4 teams are the Cards with $25.9M, Jets with $23.6M, Panthers with $20.6M, and Cowboys with $19.6M. So only 2 teams over $25M and 4 over $20M left. The Bears could take on a vet for a $7.5M cap hit this year and still have the 3rd biggest cap. Poles has the Bears in a great position as they can still spend and save some to rollover for next year.

This is going to hurt, but I am glad it is not season-ending. In other team news, it looks like they traded a 6th Round Pick for WR Jakeem Grant from Miami. He is a Return Specialist and will likely take over both the KR and PR duties with Herbert moving to RB2. Webster probably getting cut for his reluctance to even fair catch a ball last week like Ted Ginn did last year. Grant also has some speed, but until they used Goodwin and Byrd, he won't be much of an option on offense, which is fine with me.

That would give him 18.5, even though not all of them were on the Bears, it is still a single season accomplishment. 2a. I see where Ian Cunningham is being strongly considered for GM or President of the Falcons. I know that if he becomes GM, we will get two 3rd round compensatory picks. I assume the same would be true if they tab him for President, but Im not sure, so if anyone knows Id love to know: 1) do we still get the picks if he is President and not GM? 2) do we get the first of those picks in this year's draft, and the next one next year? 3) are the picks tradeable? 4) are both the picks tradeable this year? Despite our issues at WR for some reason I still lean toward fixing the CB/S position in Rd 2. That's not to say I wouldn't draft a WR there if the right talent fell to us. Maybe at this point I simply like the DB options in Rd 2 better than the WR options. Looking at WR who will still be on the board in Rd 2-5 I came across Justyn Ross. Physically he's an easy fit to step into ARob's role but he has some serious injury history having had surgery to repair a congenital fusion condition with his neck and spine. We were talking about Jared Goff, which led me to Cooper Kupp. I don't think people talk enough about his 2021 season (or the fact that he has lived off of it ever since). He had 145 receptions, 1947 yards, and 16 TDs that year. That was basically 1000 yards more than his previous season where he had 974 yards. That one season is such an outlier, it is crazy. He has only had one other season over 1000 yards. He is also already 30 yrs old. If we beat the Packers we are in the first round of the playoffs. Our first game will be at home against either four of the warm weather teams the 49ers,Panthers, Saints or the Cardinals depends on this last weeks games. I like us at home against any one of these teams in the cold.

I have not been able to find any details on the Mayors suggestion of adding 5,000+ seats to Soldier Field. Any idea on where the hell these would go that makes sense? I love the idea for a variety of reasons. Not to mention, we are the 2nd biggest market and have the 2nd smallest stadium. But I can't think of any way that this is logistically practical.

Just curious what the locals think about the stadium relocating. I read they are looking at the south lot as a possibility, just curious where people would park then, looking at the current satellite images of the area. Also what are your thoughts of it moving to Arlington?
