Do we kick the tires? Seems like a low risk signing, and he is still fairly young.

Khari Lee was released to make room for Logan Paulsen. I think that's an upgrade and it is expected we'll put Lee on the practice squad so he'll still be around if needed, Braunecker too. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/bears-t...-logan-paulsen/

Not sure how this guy is better than Robbie Gould? I would assume we will see a new kicker next year unless he turns it around soon. Peace

Despite the 0-3 start I've held that I like the young players we have. Injuries have forced some into action sooner than expected with some negative plays as a result. Instead of the flashes of goodness we've seen in the first few weeks this week it was about consistent execution. That's a big step forward for them and getting this first victory will be huge for their confidence. Offense: Kevin White: I've seen comments about waiting to see a breakout game. Not that I disagree with that, but much more than seeing the explosive big plays, which I think are in his future, I wanted to see consistent execution from him. Be where he is supposed to be on time …

He's our best DB and it's always noticeable whenever he's not on the field. If he can play this week it will be a nice boost to our defense especially with some more question marks at the outside corners.

If you like Oline play check out this screenshot of a Jordan Howard run late in the 4th quarter that helped win the game over the Vikings. This is inside 4min, Vikings know we're going to run and the box is stacked with 8 defenders and everyone else keyed into what Howard does at the snap. Our Oline blocks it well, Howard reads it well, and we gain 11yds for a 1st down. We have to start giving more credit to our TEs as well because both Paulsen and Miller are doing a good job blocking. The rest of the PFW analysis is excellent as well. http://www.profootballweekly.com/lists/201...e6c1ee/?page=14

Thought you guys would find this interesting considering we've been calling for more of it over the years... According to some stats in ESPN magazine, teams have great successes when using play action, and should use it more. When using play action, teams threw for 9.23ypa, compared to only 6.9 for all other passes. Further, they result in more first downs by percentage (44.3%) than other passes (33.3%). There is also a slight advantage in terms of sacks given up, despite holding the ball longer on play action (5.6% vs 5%). They even went on to display how much better some teams and QBs are when using play action. Phillip Rivers, Tyrod Taylor, and Russell Wi…

Looks like we'll see a new KR/PR this week. Maybe we'll see him at WR on a few plays as the Bears explore options for next season at slot WR. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...5f-e22d2b573b31 Roster moves: The Bears on Tuesday promoted rookie running back Bralon Addison from the practice squad to the active roster, officially placed receiver Eddie Royal on injured reserve and waived offensive lineman Cornelius Edison. Addison entered the NFL this year with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent from Oregon. He spent the offseason with Denver before being waived prior to the start of the regular season. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0104-story.html Thought this summary was a pretty good read and I generally agreed with all of his answers. Two things that stood out was how he is trusting the process and being patient and highlighting how despite various reports, John and Ryan are absolutely on the same page. As long as that is the case, then I fully agree with the decision to keep with the path, but I do agree this is going to be a pretty defining offseason, mainly because we have to find a way to get a QB and It might be that out of all the guys available (via draft / trade / free agency) only one guy (if that) might be that guy and somehow we have to…

Scanning across some top 50 player lists and anywhere from 13 to 15 of the top 50 players in this draft are DBs. Depending on who's board you are using there's a few more just outside the top 50 as well including players like Melifonwu, Adoree Jackson (seen him as late 1st Rd pick too), or Quincy Wilson. The rankings among CBs are all over the place and have changed dramatically since 31 Dec. Jabril Peppers who was largely considered a top 5 pick now is listed in the late 1st and in some places early 2nd Rd (Jeremiah has him at 33rd overall). Bottom line is that we're in a very good spot picking early in the 3rd Rd if we still want a DB. http://www.nfl.com/new…

After watching the Pats win yet again, it made me think there there might be a silver lining to our last 10 years of sucking... Granted, we had lightning in a bottle for 2006. But our lack of QB really doomed us...along w/ losing Mike Brown and Tommie Harris for the most important game. But in a broad brush stroke, from 2007-2016...the Pats really have dominated. And they probably will continue to until Brady/Billichick retire in 3-5 years. Sure, some other teams have won in the meantime. But the landscape has been really owned by the Pats to the like we'll probably never see again. We never want to suck...but given that we did and do, it might have n…

Day 2 was a little less productive than Day 1, but still addressed some need areas. CB - Prince Amukamara - The first acquisition was Prince Amukamara, which filled a huge need. He was not one of the top 1-2 CB's, but was definitely top 5 and better than anyone we currently have on the roster. We also signed Marcus Cooper, CB in from Arizona, who was a PB Alternate. CB Position - a clear upgrade with Amukamara and Cooper OT - Tom Compton - A Swing Tackle who played in the SB, will probably challenge Massie or Leno for a starting spot, but at worst is a top end Swing Tackle. OT Position - a marginal upgrade if only a backup, but bigger if he pushes to…
