How do we gameplan for this week in Denver? I'm thinking the coaches throw Cutler a bone and cut loose some plays that allow him to succeed. I know Denver, it's fans and Orton are going to be jacked up for this game. It's unfortunate that this is not a regular season game, because all eyes are going to continue judging the trade. I have a feeling Hester is going to toast Champ Bailey at least once, as Hester and Cutler have missed some opportunities in the 1st 2 games.

Looking at some players that will make the PS this year I figure 2 to be a shoe in is Kinder and Knox. He showed flashes but Igeslias have shown more. So I figure the Bears will keep Rideau, DA, Hester, Bennet igeslias and Davis. But that only if Davis sticks, If released , look for Knox to make the roster. Any thoughts?

  6. Dusty Dvoracek denies report that he is out for season By Vaughn McClure Bears nose tackle Dusty Dvoracek said a report stating that he is done for the season with a torn right ACL is ``wrong' although he declined to discuss the specifics of the injury suffered in Saturday's exhibition against the New York Giants. The Bears would not confirm nor deny the report by the Sun-Times. Players in the locker room, including nose tackle Anthony Adams, talked as if they had already been informed that Dvoracek is indeed out for the season. ``It's bad any way you look at it,'' Adams said. ``I feel for bad for him and pray for him. It's tough man. Words do it a …

Roster moves: The Bears on Tuesday signed linebacker Darrell McClover and waived/injured guard Tyler Reed (knee) and tight end Fontel Mines (knee). McClover appeared in 22 games over the past three seasons with the Bears, registering 36 special teams tackles and two blocked punts. He recorded 14 stops while playing in the first 10 games last year before sustaining a season-ending hamstring injury. Reed joined the Bears in 2006 as a sixth-round pick and spent the past three seasons on the practice squad. Mines arrived as an undrafted free agent in 2007 and spent most of his two seasons with the Bears on the practice squad

  11. The Bears re-sign LB Darryl McClover a special teams demon. That doesn't bode well for some one on the LB crew.

Pompei makes the argument that while Cutler has an incredible arm, he is also going to throw picks. In general, I agree w/ this. QBs w/ strong arms and aggressive instincts are simply put going to throw more picks. That is simply how it is. However, the idea is they will also throw more TDs, thus throwing (for example) one pick per game is not really that painful. What bothers me though is more in his reasoning than his argument in general. He makes the case that, to date, Cutler has played in 37 games and thrown a total of 37 interceptions. He then compares Cutler w/ Payton Manning and Tom Brady, and points out how Brady threw a pick every 42.4 throws an…

  13. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/mulligan/17...mully26.article Saw this on the Sun Times. Its an article about Davis. Now, Mulligan takes the position that Davis deserves more of an opportunity than he has been getting. At the same time, reading the article, it puts into question some things we have talked about. - Some other articles seem to put Davis closer to the lock position. This article very much puts that into question. This article says Iglesias and Knox are virtual locks based on (a) draft position for Iglesias and ( 40 time for Knox. He implies Davis' roster security is far more up in the air than some others have been saying. - Something I …

Okay, so most have seen that we have re-signed McClover. Question is, what does this mean? Right now, Williams is dealing w/ a foot injury, and if McClover was simply added to compensate in the short term for an injured LB, than his addition means absolutely nothing, and he will be gone by September cut downs. If this was not the reason he was added though, the implications could be interesting. One, at the LB position, we kept 6 last year. Urlacher and Briggs are pure locks, and Pisa I think is a virtual lock as well. Williams would seem to be the next more secure. You then have Roach, Hunter and Freeman. If we keep McClover, I have a hard time seeing us …

  15. Not just talking about the injuries, but the overall attitude. I watched the game online this weekend, and prior to the game, I saw an interview w/ Harris. His entire demenor was just bad. His answers were arrogant as hell. I don't recall if it was the guy doing the interview, or the guys back in the office that made the comment, but Harris looked and sounded like he was ready to rip the reporters head off. This was a scheduled sit down w/ Harris. Not running up to him as he is trying to leave the field after practice or something like that. I don't know. Just the way he came off. At one point, he was asked about his season last year, and he said he had…

I know a lot of people on this board and all bears fans are/were hoping to get a legitimate receiver in here for insurance. I personally feel that we will be fine at the position but got to reading another article that made me think HMMM... Philly is pretty stacked at the wr position with maclin, jackson, brown, avant, and curtis. I know that he's no anquan boldin or even brandon marshall but I wonder what it would take to pry Kevin Curtis from the eagles? He's a vet and a darn good receiver. I'd be all for throwing them a 3rd or 4th rder to them to get him. Like I said I think the guys we have will do fine but it is an idea especially after reading this article: …
