http://www.chicitysports.com/2009/08/06/at...es-and-twitter/ Article on athletes and twitter. Some athletes have gotten in trouble for voicing things over twitter. It seems as if more and more of them are getting in trouble like noted in the article J.R. Smith and Antonio Cromartie being fined. What do you think about it? Should athletes be able to give unfiltered feedback on things? Or do they need to have regulations and things to consider before posting their "tweets".

Alabama/Utah Sugar Bowl USC/Penn State Rose Bowl Texas/Ohio State Fiesta Bowl Virginia Tech and Cincinnati have to play in the Orange Bowl, so that means no Texas Tech? What a crock of s***. I'm so tired of having to watch the Ohio State Suckeyes get their brains beat in, year in year out, by teams that are superior when it comes to athletically. NOTE BCS: WE WANT TO SEE COMPETITIVE GAMES, DUMB***ES!

Patriots beat writer Mike Reiss wonders if Mike Vrabel's trade could be part of a larger deal including Matt Cassel. Now that would be a doozy. Reiss is one of the most well-respected beat writers in the country, and is usually very cautious to publish anything resembling speculation. He rightly points out that we have no idea what the compensation in the Vrabel trade is.

There has been a lot of talk for years about crooked refs, and fixed games in the NBA. I have believed the hype for quite some time, especially considering I hate some of the teams that have won. I have varied thoughts on this, but basically I see Donaghey like Canseco. Both were called cheats. Both were proven cheats. Both said that others were involved. Both were dismissed as liars. Both were proven true. The only difference I see right now is that Canseco has much more proof than Donaghey, who only has the words of Van Gundy (who is now trying to deny those words) to back him up. Do you think it's happening? Do you think it's just the refs, or…

Chicago Rush defeat Iowa Barnstormers 61-43 in 2010 season opener 04/02/2010 9:37 PM The visiting Chicago Rush showed no mercy to host Iowa Friday night, defeating the Barnstormers 61-43 in the 2010 AFL season opener. The Rush were led by QB Russ Michna, who threw 18-28-1 for 261 yards and an impressive six touchdowns. The Rush took a 17-0 lead in the first quarter, and scored an additional 17 in the second quarter. Iowa started their comeback attempt not long after. They dropped 22 in the second, their highest scoring quarter of the game, but it didn’t take long for Chicago’s defense to shut down their rhythm. The Rush held Iowa scoreless in the t…

http://footballdiner.com/wordpress/?p=282 Diner’s exclusive Christmas competition: win a copy of The Ultimate Super Bowl Book It’s nearly Christmas (and Hanukkah. And Eid and Diwali were celebrated recently too…) so we thought we’d treat our lovely Diner readers with a fantastic, festive competition. That’s right, we’ve got five copies of Bob McGinn’s unbelievably good The Ultimate Super Bowl Book to give away in time (we figure) for the Christmas holiday. It’s a rip-snorting read, breaking down every Super Bowl game so far and, better still, featuring superb interviews from players and coaches more than willing to retrospectively lay the blame at the feet of …
