Anyone else have a problem
If he was cut by the Patriots and signed by the Jets or signed by someone like the Packers/Vikings, Bears fans would have the same negative reaction to him. Now he's the Bears's diva. If he performs, everyone's going to love him. If he gambles too much and costs the team, then he's going to wind up being booed.

Bears sign safety Brandon Meriweather
He might not be ready to play "Right away"...but with Harris being a FA at the end of this year and Meriweather being on a 1 year deal as well...the Bears didn't bring this guy in to have him be on the bench the whole year. Plus, Meriweather wouldn't have signed here if the Bears weren't going to play him.

Bears sign safety Brandon Meriweather
I feel like some of the best things Brownie did on the field were when he was doing his own thing.

Bears cut
Well, that's exactly where some people thought we could try to trade Taylor to. Guess they just expected him to be cut so they wouldn't give up a conditional pick

Bears sign safety Brandon Meriweather
Well, he was 34 I believe, and played poorly last year in the playoffs and in the preseason, so there's several reasons why this guy was available.
-
Bears sign safety Brandon Meriweather
Well, now I can safely say that there was no position of need on the field that the Bears have not at least tried to upgrade this year.

Forte's Offer Is On The Table
There's always little details to work out in these things too...try to push a little more on the guarantee, try to rewrite the bonus or performance incentives, there's so many details you can push into an NFL contract since they're only partially guaranteed.

Forte's Offer Is On The Table
I'd expect that this counts as "Very close". The "He's now a FA" level is $21 million guaranteed, that's what D'Angelo Williams got in carolina to stay, Forte is still a year away so the guarantee offer is small. There's probably details to work out, but this is a fair market offer on the table. At least no one can honestly sit here and say that the Bears are being cheap or obviously low-balling him.

Still not sure why you guys aren't seeing this. I note that a different non-admin was able to post an attachment just about a week ago about upcoming cuts. Trying to figure out if there's some setting where its blocked for you but so far have had no luck.

Forte should get Gore money
One thing to remember is that Forte is also quite a bit younger and has less wear/tear on him than Gore. That alone pushes his fair market value up somewhat.

Alex Brown cut from Saints
The Bears didn't want to pay him, they didn't Wash their hands of him per se.

Open up the "Full reply" window. If you look at the box below and to the right of the window that you normally type a post in, you will see a pulldown menu labeled "Manage current attachments (0)", with an open box below it and a browse option. Click the "Browse" button. Go and highlight the picture that you wish to upload. Click the "upload" button. The file will upload to this system. Then, go to the "Manage current attachments" pulldown menu. There should now be an option that you can figure out to insert an image. Clicking on the "green" option will insert the image into a post. Then simply finish your post and click add reply.

Briggs wants new contract
Now you might be able to say that in MLB and NBA...but in the NFL, a Contract isn't a contract from the team's perspective. Contracts in the NFL are not fully guaranteed, only partially guaranteed, so no, a contract in the NFL is supposed to be honored as long as it is favorable for both sides to honor them.
