Im mainly trying to say Orton sucks and its turning into a Grossman thread.

By the end of the season the defense was devastated by injuries. I know Grossman sucked in the beginning of last year, Im not debating that. Im saying, the beginning of this season the defense has been much better than the end of last year.

I agree. But not on the pass that was picked to Forte, the pass where he under threw Booker where he was wide open for a td and the numerous times the WRs had to wait for the ball so could get any yac. jason, dbdb, back me up on this man lol

We should have won the past two games. Amongst other things, the offenses inability to score was the reason we lost.

That was 2 years ago. I think Ortons 2 picks and multiple under throws are more the problem.

No, they generate 4 take aways and put the team at midfield half a dozen times and are on the field the whole game because the offense cant do anything and then get so exhausted by the end of the game they cant do anything.

I agree. Im talking about the end of last year, from the Raider game on. He seemed like he finally understood about checking down and throwing it away.

Our defense also appeared to pack it in which is pretty aggravating. We need a steady pass rush. We were talking about it in the chat room, whenever there was anyone near Griese he just gunned it. they were normally thrown away or picked or whatever. Instead he can sit in the pocket and pick apart our bullshit "Tampa 2" defense which he practices against every day. Monte Kiffen knows every weakness of that defense. he invented it for christs sakes. How about some variety.

How about getting tds instead of field goals when the defense keeps handing you the ball at midfield.

We have a great defense and good running game. I think he would fit in quite nicely. I know you would be a fan of his hidden zone blitzes

At the end of last year Rex was checking down to AP quite a bit. If Lloyd could make those types of catches for Grossman they might be a dangerous tandem, coupled with Forte, who is going to continue to see 12 man fronts. His int for a td was considerably worse than I think I have ever seen Rex do, and we lost in overtime. I think we will see Grossman this season and I think he is going to impress.

I was thinking the same thing. On the Bears last drive before the half, if they didnt get that field goal, I might think Grossman would have been considered. IMO, he pretty much had a one drive audition to remain in the game and at least got a field goal.

I also cant believe you seriously are going to try and change his stats and make that int a td. Thats hilarious, sure Forte dropped it, but because of how under thrown it was.

That pick in the end zone was under thrown. No way you can just take any blame off of Orton. the only reason his numbers were even decent is because of Lloyds amazing catches on terrible passes. He threw a pass to a defensive lineman directly for a td. He was getting the ball at mid field and all we were getting was field goals. if Orton is gonna be getting sacked, throwing ints in our end zone and throwing ints for tds than why have him in there? He is supposed to be the guy who can feel pressure and not make mistakes. I hope were not playing him because of his ability to under throw Booker and Forte for wide open tds. Orton did the same exact thing all Grossman haters bitch about this game, throw stupid ints and not feeling pressure, but all of a sudden you guys are defending it. The ONLY difference between Grossman and Orton being on the field if Orton is gonna play like this is that Grossman gives us the deep threat, which would have resulted in more points today. Pretend Grossman isnt in this conversation for a second and its just talking about Orton and nobody would think he didnt play a terrible game. Lloyd made him look good at the end but his accuracy AND arm strength are so ridiculous that teams dont even have to drop their safeties deep at all. Orton is playing because of his decision making, not making mistakes and pocket presence. Every week he is getting worse at all those things.

I dont care how bad he is, put Grossman is, at least he has the potential for a big play between sucking. Orton is freakin terrible.
