Tomorrow/Tuesday on Cold pizza
I would love to have the Bears snag Pos, but I've never mentioned him because I think its clear he'll be off the board by the 31st pick. Then again, stranger things have happened..

TalkBears Mock Draft
I can probably take over a team... doesn't matter which.

Bears 2007 opponents
Why is the game at Philly? Wasn't the last time we played there (I want to say 04) also in Philly? Or does that have nothing to do with determining who is at home?

Mock Draft Summary Thread
Personally, I just want Spaeth because he fits our offense and is graduating from my college. It doesn't hurt that he's a damn good TE though and reigning John Mackey award winner, nor does it hurt that he's been named all Big 10 for the past two years and first team all American last year. I don't know how his injury will impact his future play, but it spoke wonders to me that he continued to play through the rest of the year as opposed to just getting surgery right after his injury (which came after a horrible win against North Dakota State University). I'm a fan of his though I suppose, so obviously I'll feel that way.

Seems like his injury has hurt his stock a lot according to them... he used to be in their top 3 (I looked earlier this year).

Mock Draft Summary Thread
Probably the best college TE in football last year, and one of the best in the past few years. He's coming from Minnesota (which is why I mention him a lot), a team oriented around the run for the past few years, and he's a plus blocker with good hands and is a good catcher, but wasn't really utilized to his full potential with Cupito and Glen Mason running things. He's got good size (6'7", 265), but isn't really athletic. He was hurt and had shoulder surgery in the offseason, and I think he'll be missing some workouts, meaning his stock will likely fall. He's got a lot of heart (played through pain this season, which isn't the most appealing thing to do with a crappy team, and was a big reason why the Gophers "turned their season around"), and is viewed as a good team player, and a leader (overrated things IMO, but still important). I can see him going in the third or fourth probably.. it really depends on how teams view his injury/surgery.

Math Spaeth please, thanks.

Rex Should be Our Starter in 07
This thread echoes my thoughts.

TJ, Benson or both?
Domanick Williams. He changed his name And Thomas Jones is better than both him and Lamont Jordan.

The Official Off-Season and Draft Idea thread.
I don't know. With the Bears draft history in mind, a third rounder is a pretty good player.
-
Who's better? Mike Brown or Bob Sanders?
Brown when healthy, but Sanders is a damn good safety. Regardless, a healthy Brown runs laps around him when considering all things (leadership, difference making, etc.)

Thanks to TalkBears
Great season all... we'll be back next year, even better

QB Situation
Its not that tough a system. Run, run, throw interception/near interception. But yes, I fully agree about Rex being the QB for the team, and I think he's a good fit with the ability to stretch the field (which he showed in the start of the year). He's going to become more confident and more aware of defenses as he continues to start, so I have no concerns about him in the future.

The Official Off-Season and Draft Idea thread.
Matt Spaeth in the third or so is all I ask for. Thanks. (also, depending on who is still around and the Briggs situation, a LB in the first isn't that bad an idea)
-
TJ, Benson or both?
I'd quietly shop Thomas Jones around, but wouldn't feel pressured to deal him. The two back system with him and Benson works pretty well, so no need to break up a good thing unless a tremendous offer is on the table for TJ. (meanwhile, I'd keep TJ as the starter with Benson practically splitting carries with him)
-
QB Situation
Read what he's actually saying. He's merely saying something that happened in one game shouldn't determine what happens next year, since clearly the defensive line wasn't at its best during the Super Bowl either. Rex should be the starter, beyond a doubt. If I hear any crap about Garcia being brought in during this offseason, or Griese taking over Rex's spot, I'll be sick.

What If The Bears Lose?
And I stand by it. Excellent year, we'll be better next year.

I think thats more of a product of the playcalling, not really Grossman's personal choice. I don't see how you can hold that against him at all.

THE F'ING SUPER BOWL: Indianapolis Colts vs. Chicago Bears
Go to bed and sleep for 12 hours. Then come back, after you are calmed down, and look objectively at the game. Jones had a damn good game.

Congrats to...
Congrats to Dungy.. great coach (and Minnesota alum!) who deserves every bit of credit he gets .

And that's all she wrote...
psst, Grossman was a first rounder.

Still a hell of a year for the Bears, and they'll be back with a better, and more experienced Rex Grossman next year. He's got a lot of potential, but needs to work on his decision making. Still, great year, and congrats to the Colts and their two fans (heads, greasy) on this site

What If The Bears Lose?
If the Bears lose, they've still had a great season and it shouldn't change anything about how I feel about the team. If they win, it makes this season and team that much specialer.
-
Rex Grossman
Always trust in Rex. I can't wait to see what he'll do next year with a full season under his belt.

Mariotti fun
Some of the Sox fans around here should remember this article by Eric Zorn from 2005 after the World Series. Well, keeping with tradition, Boise Wants Jay has put up a similar post, although this time relating to the Bears. Hilarity ensues, etc.
