  1. I'm ready like spaghetti, in there like swim wear.
  2. I have a bad feeling about this season to be honest. Our offense is in shambles. We have no QB. We're relying on a rookie LT, a rookie RB, and a weak WR group behind a shaky, unproven offensive line. Our coaching staff isn't the brightest bunch. Our D-Line has questions in the middle and is riddled with injury issues. Urlacher is protesting his contract and also has back/neck issues. Our starting safety can't stay healthy for more than 3 games a season, and our best player is a kick/punt returner. But...there's a reason we play all 16 games on the schedule.

    Greg Olsen

Dez Clark: 44 catches, 545 yard, 4 TD Greg Olsen: 39 catches, 391 yards, 2 TD Combined, thats 83 catches for 935 yards. I'd say we did a pretty good job incorporating the TE.

    Greg Olsen

Not really Olsen's fault he didn't perform. We passed to Desmond Clark a lot and used Olsen less frequently than Dez. He still managed to have a couple TD catches. 40/400 is pretty damn good for a rookie backup TE. He'll be one of the best in the league when he takes over full time for Dez, especially if we choose to utilize the TE in the passing game more.
  5. Want and think are 2 totally different things. Who do I want, in a perfect world... QB: Grossman RB: Forte WR: Bradley, Bennett, Hester TE: Olsen LT: Williams LG: St. Clair C: Kreutz RG: Garza RT: Tait

    Arch gone

McGowan is going to be a pleasant surprise this year.
  7. A Packer fan would know that keeping him on the team would help GB more than it'd hurt them.
  8. You're right. Why sign someone who has a 1000 yard season under his belt when we have Adrian Peterson and Garrett Wolfe as our back-ups and are starting a rookie 2nd rounder. What the hell am I thinking? He's still on the right side of 30. He's got a 4+ yard per carry average over his career, when he actually got playing time he gained 237 yards in his last 2 games with Oakland against Jacksonville and San Diego (with both opponents in both weeks looking to clinch playoff births), and would likely come at a cheap price. Not to mention he's small and quick and would perfectly complement a runner like Forte.
  9. The guy followed Ricky Williams path, except without the success. Get his ass out of here. At least with Tank Johnson, he produced. Matt Forte...your starting role awaits you. Hopefully we bring Dominic Rhodes in.
  10. Draft Picks: LT Chris Williams = #74 RB Matt Forte = #22 WR Earl Bennett = #85 DT Marcus Harrison = #94 S Craig Steltz = #27 CB Zack Bowman = #35 TE Kellen Davis = #87 DE Ervin Baldwin = #99 OG Chester Adams = #72 LB Joey LaRocque = #90 OT Kirk Barton = #69 WR Marcus Monk = #19 UDFA: QB Nick Hill = #17 QB Caleb Hanie = #12 WR Curtis Hamilton = #14 OT Cody Balaugh = #79 DE Joe Clermond = #72 DT David Faateete = #79 DE Nick Osborn = #67 CB Trey Brown = #49 CB Leslie Majors = #46 K Shane Longest = #2
  11. Right now, it probably goes: 1.) Booker 2.) Hester 3.) Bennett 4.) Bradley 5.) Davis 6.) Lloyd/Monk/Hass/Rideau/Hamilton
  12. I stopped reading after this. Devin Hester Greg Olsen Alex Brown Tommie Harris Lance Briggs Hunter Hillenmeyer Charles Tillman Nathan Vasher Brandon McGowan Danieal Manning Jerry Angelo drafted all those guys. There are quite a few Pro Bowls in there. And there is also a Super Bowl appearance.
  13. Umm, the NFL rule book? A player has to be 3 years out of high school. And since Benn played as a true freshman LAST season... This isn't the NBA.
  14. I don't recall too many people wanting Dominique Byrd. I'm pretty sure Leonard Pope and Mercedes Lewis were the only other TE's people were interested in, outside of the obvious in Vernon Davis.
  15. That will not happen considering Benn would have just finished his sophomore season.
  16. You must have been watching a different video. I see someone who shows great patience, hits the hole hard, gets going north quickly, and who has a VERY good juke move for someone his size. He's shifty in his own way. I maintain that he reminds me a lot of Deuce McAllister. Maybe not as much of a bruising running back, bet definitely the size and vision. I also love how tough he is to bring down in the open field. Look at his runs at 0:26, 0:47, 1:32, 2:20....those display his vision and shiftiness, without much help from a line opening up big holes.
  17. I think it was fairly obvious with the drafting of Williams and Forte that the Bears and Jerry Angelo are trying to go back to the hard-nosed, black and blue running game that led us to the Super Bowl in 2006. Thats part of the reason why I see Orton being the starter for the majority of the season. We're going to run the ball, we're going to pound it in, we're going to use our defense and special teams to be part of our offense, and were going to give Orton the ball and tell him to keep us in it and not turn it over. Now, I'm not saying Orton is the best option we have at QB, but he is definitely the safest. We all know the abilities and potential that Grosman has, but he is a mental midget. He makes dumb mistakes and dumb decisions. I've always been one of the only Rex fans here, but I want this team to win in the end, and I think Orton is the "safe" pick while Rex gives you the potential to be a great QB but has yet (if ever) put it together.
  18. Woodson and Brohm are different because of the value they have compared to where they were picked. Brohm was the 2nd best QB in this draft behind Ryan. Getting him in the 2nd would have been great value. Woodson, a few months ago, was a 1st round pick. Many thought the Bears would take him 14th overall. He ended up being a 7th round pick. That is great value. Picking a QB just to pick one is stupid.
  19. It was a 5th round pick. Get over it.
  20. I totally agree. While CB wasn't exactly one of our biggest needs, Bowman was once considered 1st round talent. And if gets healthy and shows that, then we get a 1st rounder in the 5th. Someone that could have been mentioned with Cromartie and Jenkins comes to us 4 rounds later.
  21. People need to realize that no matter what QB we could have taken in the draft, not one of them was going to come in and start right away, and I'm damn sure none of them were going to become franchise QB's and take us to the Super Bowl. People are getting there panties in a bunch becayse we didn't pick one, but the QB position was incredibly weak this year. Ryan should not be the 3rd overall pick, and Joe Flacco definitely doesn't deserve to be the 18th overall pick. I find it confusing that people would have been so much more satisfied if we picked some random QB in the 4-7 rounds. Is it going to make that big of a difference? No. If everyone knew Tom Brady was going to become a stud, he wouldn't have been drafted 199 overall. Things like that don't happen often. Get over it. We didn't pick a QB. Move on. Booty or Dixon or Johnson or Ainge is NOT going to lead the Bears to the Super Bowl. There were 2 realistic options that could have made a difference for the Bears. One, picking Brohm in the 2nd round. Two, picking Woodson late in the draft.
  22. Brandon Carr is going to be a big time CB for them too. He was their 5th round pick out of Grand Valley. He's got sound tackling skills, great make-up speed, and is a ball-hawk like Vasher.
  23. People are getting really worked up about the draft and the Bears relative inactivity in free agency, but don't forget, June 1st salary cuts are around the corner, and I expect JA to look long and hard at some guys cut at OG, QB, DT, WR, RB, and S. Remember, the season isn't over yet.
