I like Lou's better than Geno's, but not by leaps and bounds. But Geno's does offer the thin as well, so that's why I'd recommend it. 2 for 1!

That is the Billy Boat Tavern! http://www.yelp.com/biz/billy-goat-tavern-chicago But go to this one, not the one on the pier! The pier is fun, especially if in town for the first time. Also the museums...

Sunday should be a lost day after over-celebratin the win! If you're planning on spending time in downtown, there are a ton of things to check out, eat & drink... get an Italian Beef sandwich get pizza, deep and thin, both are unique to Chicago. Geno's does both, so it's not a bad place to start. get a Chicago hotdog, maybe even at Soldier If you can, get a cheezborger at the Billy Goat Tavern made famous by Belushi from SNL...make sure to wash it down with a Schlitz on tap! Go to Ditka's. If only to get the pot roast nachos and enjoy the environment. The food is actually very good. It's a very long walk from the game. But I've done it and it helps you sober up so you can re-start at Coach's! If you are need need of a steakhouse go Gibson's or Chicago chop house. Chop house is more consistent and gives more of a Chicago vibe. But when Gibson's is on, they are excellent. However, they have been known to be off too often. Just don't settle for what you get if it's prepared poorly. I can't tell you how many times I've ordered rare steaks, only to get them medium. One night I had to send 2 back.

Get botht he thin and deep dish...both are unique. Maybe not he best in the city, but a really good fair representation of both.

I heard Peanut mention "population" tackle to take on AP.

Troll! Get on board the Trestman bus! The Lovie Bug has been towed out of the facility already! (sorry couldn't resist...) These lists are intended to be weekly, based on what we've seen. So, given we haven't seen much, both teams played fairly evenly, and the Bears won by 3. So on an even field...It would be a tie. But...the Bears played smarter. So, the edge goes to them in my book. I could see why some would think the Bengals are better. Really, it matters not. All that matters is that I'll be a happy camper at the end of the Super Bowl when Professor Marc is hoisting up the trophy w/ Virgie & the kids! Take a sip of the kool-aid. It's tasty!

In a non-Talk Bears leauge, I have the choice for a Flex position... David Wilson RB Jordy Nelson WR Wes Welker WR I've got Nelson in there at the moment. Wilson worries me... Welker seems good too. Any thoughts?

I was just a little curious on Tucker as a coach, so I looked up some stats to have a closer peek. I looked at only NFL as he was with Ohio State before 2005. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?arc...e&Submit=Go 2005-2007 CLE DBacks coach 2008 - CLE D COORD 2009-2011 - JAX D COORD 2012 - JAX D COORD/ASST HC 2005 - CLE was 4th in passing D 2006 - CLE was 18th in passing D 2007 - CLE was 9th in passing D 2008 - CLE was 7th in overall D Average is in the top 10 for the stint in CLE. Take out 2006, and it's even better at 7. Removing the hi & low scores, it's about 8th. 2009 - JAX was 10th in overall D 2010 - JAX was 5th in overall D 2011 - JAX was 27th in overall D 2012 - JAX was 3rd in overall D Average is in the top 12 for the stint in JAX. Take out the low of 2011, and it's quite good at 6. Removing the hi & low scores, it's about 8th. For the 8 years, the average is 11th. Take out the 2011 atrocity and it's 8th. Removing the hi & low scores, it's about 9. My take is that the guy generates a top 10 defense. At this point, I'm not concerned. And don't forget, Mark Twain said "There's lies, damn lies, and statistics.". So take this for what it is. Something to chew on while we await Sunday!

I could simply care less. But, it does put him in a "whiny" light. The story is basically over. Why keep re-hashing it? I'm not so certian his side of the story is correct. No one really knows what transpired between the agent and the team other than those 2, and the Bears are not talking. He has millions of reasons why the Bears didn't treat him badly...

as well...

Bottom line, there will always be an answer to a "hot" system". Be it "Run & Shoot", "46 D", "West Coast", etc. But, with that said, you usually need the coaching and personnell to do it. Not every team can answer the bell. Only good ones do. Seattle stopped SF. THey have a really good D. Other good D's will figure out ways to stop it as well...

Disagree completely. Jimmy's Dallas era was smart. Troy played smart. Emmitt played smart. Sure, there were some Leon Lett moments...but for the most part. Smart. Oakland, just becasue they were rebels didn't mean they were dumb. Madden is smart, despite the bumbling guy he sometimes appears to be. Also, some of those Raiders championships came at the strike seasons... Green Bay, under Holmgrem was smart. Also, their last run under McCarthy, they played smart. Just because they marry siblings, doesn't mean they aren't smart. Our team was smart. McMahon played smart. Singletary played smart. I'm talking a mix of intelligence and football smarts. Not arguing agressiveness at all... Just alking about being and playing smart football. Cincy and Detroit rarely do. Thus, I don't expect a championship from them until they do. I think those looking for something more fiery than Smith got it. Trestman is no Jerry Glanville, but asking for more animation than Smith is about as easy at it gets. He surpasses both Smith and Jauron in terms of response to questions. Good teams figure out ways to win, bad ones, ways to lose. Last weekend both elements happened. We didn't F up, they did. And we capitalized on it. That is a sign of a good team. At least for that weekend. Here's hoping for more! Fill that kool-aid man...this will be a fun season!
-
Ever wonder why Detroit and Cincy don't have trophies? I keep going back to being smart. Winning/championship teams are. Losing/also-ran's are not. The Pats are smart. That is why they win a lot. If Trestman can instill that, we are in much better shape to utilize oppportunity. The Pats play well and wait for the other team to F up. We virtually did that ourselves last Sunday. I'm sure it's not going to be the case here on out 100%. But it's a great start and lends itself to hope that it will indeed be a trend.
