I hear ya. Shore up the trenches even just a little bit on both sides, and it'll be a huge improvement. Tack in some more reliable WR's...and we may really have something.

OK, the SB is done. Laddi-fricken-da. I was bored. A close game doesn't mean it was a good game. There was nothing that went on that remotely felt like greatness. Just good-ness. Congrats to the Giants. They earned the victory. Now, we can focus on the Bears and next season! I'm totally chugging massive glasses of Kool-Aid! If this Giants team can win it, our Bears with an improved WR corps, better OL play, and an improved DL can do it! I truly feel that if we address all 3 issues in FA and the draft, and stay relatively healthy in the key positions...we're going and winning. And in a kick ass way. BEAR THE F DOWN!!!!

Hester/Lovie/Sayers in NFL Timeline Commercial from Super Bowl

Sayers and Hester made me excited...Smith did not. -
Tough crowd!

Sounds horrible. Here's hoping you're single!

Sounds like pure speculation... Any remotely available WR could be considered for Chicago.

I said the exact same thing right after the injury. F football, just be able to walk and move...

The hope would be an overall advantage due to the trickle down theory.... If you improve the front, the back doesn't have to be as good. Health is indeed the big concern.

All else being equal as long as we get that kind of value for Briggs, I'm ok with it.
-
I understand. I'm just of a different frame of mind. Perfection need not be changed! If it was good enough for Walter, it's good enough for me!

Your example showed a similar style that the Broncos currently employ with the little swoosh on the pants instead of a stripe, etc. I wasn't just implying color scheme. If it ain't broke don't fix it. We have classic unis. They honestly don't need changing. I don't mind an alt jersey here and there...but to make a permanent change, I just don't want anything drastic.
-
Sorry, I'm just not a fan of turning the Bears classic look into the Broncos... I like it old school.

...or for Freeman regressing this year.

Pix, I think I'm in agreement with you. In the end, so much simply depends on what was done in FA before the draft.

There's a lot to like and be hopeful for. I get the impression he's a dot the "i's" cross the "t's" kind of guy. I don't expect boxes to go unchecked...

Good for him. Not that I had a real problem w/ Ruskell per se, but that such a move shows he's wielding some power.
-
I love those too! I just don't like the all orange one. All blues i"m not a big fan of...but it's not as bad as the pumpkin look!
-
Agreed! I dont' mind a better alt jersey than the pure orange... Also wouldn't mind seing an alt helmet of the bear instead of the "C' maybe... But those are for the the alt uni's.

Here's hoping he bring us to the promised land!

Interesting analysis...thanks for sharing!

No worries!

The whole idea of "guilt by association" is pretty much a commonplace occurrence in society. I'm not saying I subscribe to that point of view. But that it does play a factor in the perception of Ruskell. And part of his perception also rests in the fact that he was removed in Seattle. So, if a fan were to already be weary of something w/ Angelo's fingerprints on it, and knowing Ruskell had issues at his former place of employment...it would seem understandable that that fan would be weary of Ruskell. Your thoughts on Angelo are also understandable. I don't agree with them, but I understand your point of view. I see it quite differently. Ten reason just off the top of my head include... 1. He failed at checking boxes. 2. He embarrassed the team in trading with other NFL teams on draft day 3. He failed to back his QB pick up with competent linemen and wideouts 4. He kept picking odd draft choices in higher rounds once he hit the odd paydirt on Hester (see Bazuin, etc.) 5. He uses the term "Whistle Dixie" 6. A Super Bowl was not won during his tenure 7. He granted Smith too much power after the Super Bowl loss 8. He re-signed Smith recently 9. He allowed Martz to be hired 10. He insisted on trading down too often afraid of making a mistake in the draft Was he the worst? No, that would probably be Millen. Was he the best? No, that would probably be Ron Wolf. He was average. He made a few hits, but had a ton of misses. It was simply time to move on. I will not look back fondly at JA's regime. I will remember the great play of some of the players, but the only GM of modern times I care to remember is the Jim Finks. I'm not happy with playoff appearances and Super Bowl losses. I want a damn win. It's been at least 26 years since then. So, I make no apology that Angelo simply wasn't good enough. I hope the next one will. I am always fair and hopeful with a new coach, GM, etc. I only sour after time and evidence that it's not working. Until then, I have hope the new guy can break on through.

I think I pretty much said that exact same thing if you re-read my post...
